First, preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
Then, make the filling for the pie. If you're making your own pie crust, you're going to want to do that first. But to make things easier, I decided just to use a store bought pie crust instead. 
To make filling, lightly beat your eggs in a large mixing bowl. Add in the pecans, bourbon, corn syrup, sugar, vanilla. and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix well to combine. 
Slowly stir in the melted butter until throughly combined. Set aside. 
Pour mini chocolate chips into the bottom of your premade pie crust, lightly pressing them down into the dough. 
Then, pour the pecan pie filling on top of the chocolate chips. 
Bake for 70-75 minutes or until a thermometer in the center reads to 200 degrees. If your crust starts burning before the pie is done, cover loosely with aluminum foil. 
Cool finished pie on a wire rack. Cover and chill for at least two hours before serving and serve with a dollop of bourbon-maple whipped cream!
