Servings 30 cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups leftover Halloween candy chopped into bite sized pieces

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, sift together the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, and salt) and set aside.
  • In an electric mixer combine the butters and sugars together. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract and mix well.
  • Slowly, add in the flour mixture at medium speed until completely combined.
  • Then, mix in your candy pieces.
  • On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, roll out cookie dough balls about 2 tablespoons thick. You don't have to space them out, because we will be freezing the dough before baking.
  • Once you have your cookie dough balls all on the cookie sheet, you can press more chopped up Halloween candy onto the top of the cookies if desired.
  • Place cookie dough in the freezer for at least 30 minutes before baking.
  • To bake cookies, place in a pre-heated oven at 350 degrees for 12-14 minutes or until cookies become golden brown.
  • You can also keep leftover cookie dough in a freezer bag or freezer safe container for up to three months.
  • Let bake cookies cool on baking sheet for at least 5 minutes before removing them to a wire rack to let them cool completely and enjoy!
  • Store baked cookies in an airtight container for up to 5 days as well.
