Orange Sugared Almonds

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • zest from 1 orange
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 tbsp water
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 2 cups whole almonds

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 325 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Then, stir together the sugar and the orange zest in a large mixing bowl. Be sure to use the back of a spoon to press together and blend the sugar and orange zest. This helps to release the oils from the orange zest as well.
  • Whisk in the egg white, water, and salt.
  • Then, add in your almonds and toss to coat evenly.
  • Spread almonds out on prepared baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes. Or until the sugar mixture is looking dry and is lighter in color.
  • Cool on a wire rack and then break into bite sized pieces. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for one week.
