To make the apple syrup, combine the apple slices, water, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon into a small saucepan.
Bring to a boil and then reduce heat to simmer for 15-20 minutes. Mixture will thicken as it cooks.
Strain mixture into a bowl, pressing down on the apples to release the juices.
Store syrup in mason jar container in fridge to cool completely before using.
To make the macchiato, fill a cup up with ice and add apple brown sugar syrup to the bottom of the glass.
Pour oatmilk on top of syrup and then cooled brewed espresso.
Top with whipped cream, caramel sauce, cinnamon and nutmeg if desired. Serve and enjoy!
