A few weeks ago, I decided to give my vintage thermoses a little face lift for fall. And I came up with this DIY vintage thermos Jack O’ Lantern idea and I absolutely love how it turned out!
It definitely added a more cute, Halloween vibe to my coffee bar and I am all about that. I don’t really do scary Halloween decor, as I mentioned in the past when I’ve talked about my minimalist Halloween decorations.
And these thermoses fit into that category just perfectly! And the good news is that they were super easy to create as well. If you have some vintage thermoses lying around, then you should definitely try out this quick and easy DIY idea too!

Supplies Needed For DIY Vintage Thermos Jack O’ Lantern:

- Cricut Explore Machine
- Black Vinyl
- Cricut Cutting Mat
- Transfer Tape
- Cricut Weeder Tool

How To Make Vintage Thermos Jack O’ Lantern:
The first thing I did was go on Cricut access page and just typed in “Jack O’ Lantern Faces”. I found plenty to choose from and just chose the one I liked the best.

I measured the width and height of my thermoses and then just scaled down the design accordingly. Then, I placed some black vinyl on the cutting mat and turned the machine on.

It only took a few seconds to cut out. After that, I used the weeder tool to remove the excess vinyl around the Jack O’ Lantern face.

To attach it to the thermos, I placed transfer tape over the face and used the scraper tool to make sure the vinyl would adhere to the tape. Then, carefully pulling the tape in a diagonal direction, I pulled the vinyl off the backing with the tape.

Now you can place the Jack O’ Lantern face directly where you want it on your thermos. Once it’s placed, use the scraper tool again to smooth it down onto the surface.

And again, carefully peel off the transfer tape, making sure the vinyl is still adhering to the thermos. And that’s it! How cute and simple is that?!

Enjoy Your Thermos Jack O’ Lantern!
I just can’t believe how cute they turned out to be! I think they look just perfect on my coffee bar and add just the right amount of spooky cuteness. What do you all think?!

Let me know if you try this out too, I’d love to see how yours turned out! It’s so fun because all the thermoses you can find are so different, so each one would look super cute as a Jack O’ Lantern for Halloween!
