I had some extra oyster shells left over from our beach trip this summer, so instead of letting them sit around, I turned them into these DIY oyster shell Christmas ornaments! You may remember I turned some of the shells into cute little ghosts for Halloween too 👻 But now we’re officially moving on to Christmas crafts!

And I am obsessed with how these turned out! All I needed was some spray paint, pretty wrapping paper, Mod Podge, twine, and hot glue to transform ordinary oyster shells into high-end looking coastal Christmas ornaments.

Not only are these such a pretty addition to your Christmas tree, but they’re also a sweet vacation keepsake! Every year when you pull them out, you’ll have a little reminder of that summer beach trip. 🥹

I always decorate my Christmas tree with gold, so these are going to fit in perfectly with my Christmas decor this year! 🎄

Decorating Your Front Porch For Fall

I have definitely enjoyed decorating my front porch this year. I never really decorated our porch in our old house, but with our new porch we have a lot of room to decorate with and I didn’t want it to go to waste! In this post, I will share all about decorating your front porch for Fall and just how easy it is to do so.

I started decorating our porches during the spring when my mom gave me some beautiful plants for my birthday. In the past, I never really had a green thumb before or cared to learn much about plants.

But, after realizing how beautiful they looked on our porch, I quickly tried to become the best plant mom I could be! And I am happy to report that all those plants are still alive today!

So when fall rolled around, I knew I had to get some beautiful pumpkins and mums to fill our front steps with!

Fall Front Porch
Here is a view of our fall front porch this year!

Pumpkins

I just went to our local farmers market to pick out some fresh pumpkins since we do not have a local pumpkin patch near by.

I went with the neutral color scheme of peachy colored ones and blueish/greenish ones.

Pumpkin Spice
This is quite possibly my favorite doormat of all time.

I did not want the traditional bright orange colored pumpkins. I felt like having that color would clash with the look I was going for.

However, if you like the traditional pumpkins more, then go for it! Whatever you like best will work just fine!

Mums

I got a few of the mums from the Farmer’s Market as well. But I mainly got most of them from Ingles! They had the best prices for them and they are so pretty!

I started with a bunch of mums on our very top step and worked my way down.

Mums and Pumpkins on Front Porch Steps
Here is one side of my porch steps with the mums and pumpkins.

I started with three in a row on the top and ended with just one. Then on the lower two steps, I just added some pumpkins to those.

My goal was to look like it was cascading down, so I made the lower step less full. I am very happy with the way it turned out.

I also stacked a few pumpkins towards the bottom of the steps to give it more height.

How To Decorate Your Front Porch For Fall
And here is the other side!

How to Style the Pumpkins and Mums

I continued to stick with the neutral pumpkin colors as well and added more colors with the mums I chose.

I was having a hard time coming up with how I wanted to style it all at first, but after looking at Pinterest for inspiration and having my sweet hubby help me, I was very satisfied with the finished product!

If you need more tips and inspiration, be sure to check out my post all about my tips and tricks for styling a fall porch too!

I will share more pictures below of how the whole porch turned out!

My husband found me this vintage ladder for free! It has become a staple piece to decorate the porch with.
I found these beautiful hanging mums from the Farmer’s Market too and I bought ones that were hardly blooming, that way they lasted me a little longer this season. As you can see here, they are finally opening up!
Indian Corn for Fall
I put the indian corn I found here in this galvanized metal tin. My plan was originally to fill it with pumpkins, but I did not have enough!
Mums and Pumpkins
Love the way stacking pumpkins look!
Hey There Pumpkin Pillow
Always need to have a seasonal pillow of course on my rocking chairs too!
Pumpkin Door Mat
I fell in love with this doormat when I saw it and I just had to have it!

I absolutely love decorating the front porch with pumpkins and mums for fall.

Mums and pumpkins just scream that the Autumn season is here and it is definitely one of my favorite seasons so I love to decorate every spot that I can for it.

Do you all normally decorate your porch for fall too? Let me know what you like to decorate your front porch with below if you do!

I am absolutely LOVING these fall trees from Nearl I am absolutely LOVING these fall trees from Nearly Natural on @amazon 🙌🏻 Usually, I keep my olive trees in these baskets on each side of our bed until Christmas, when I swap them out for Christmas trees. But now I officially have trees for FALL too… and I’m obsessed. 😂🍁

They add the prettiest deep, rich fall colors to our bedroom and instantly make the whole space feel warmer and cozier. There’s just something about bringing those autumn tones into your bedroom that makes it feel like the ultimate cozy retreat!

I’m definitely adding these to my list of favorite fall bedroom decor finds. 🍂

Are you someone who decorates your bedroom for fall too, or do you keep the seasonal decor to the main areas of your home?!

But cat scratching pads?! Those are her absolute FAVORITE. She’s just about worn her old one out, so when I spotted this adorable Halloween cat scratching pad at Target, obviously I had to bring it home for her. 🎃

After a few very thorough sniffs, an inspection, and some test scratches… we officially have Riley’s approval! 👏🏻😹

Honestly, I’m just glad I managed to buy something that passed her incredibly strict quality-control standards. 😂

If you love ooey gooey desserts, you NEED to make If you love ooey gooey desserts, you NEED to make this Ooey Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake this fall! 🎃🤤

Confession: I’m one of those people who would rather lick the batter or sneak some cookie dough than wait for the finished dessert. 🤣 And don’t come for me about the raw batter…I’ve been doing it my whole life and I’m still here 😜

Which is exactly why this pumpkin butter cake is one of my FAVORITE fall desserts. It’s fully baked, but the middle stays unbelievably soft, rich, and ooey gooey. 🙌🏻

You get a buttery yellow cake base topped with a creamy pumpkin layer that basically melts in your mouth. And add a big dollop of whipped cream on top?! CHEF’S KISS. 🤌🏻🎃

It’s easy to make, packed with cozy fall flavor, and would be the perfect pumpkin dessert for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or any fall gathering!
