I’m partnering with @catspride today to put an empty Cat’s Pride litter jug to good use with the cutest little upcycling project. Since the jug was already the perfect Frankenstein green, I knew exactly what I wanted to make! 💚 After cleaning the empty jug thoroughly, we cut off the top to create a basket shape. Then I used my Cricut to add a Frankenstein face before filling it with some of Riley and Toby’s favorite cat treats and Halloween toys. And judging by Toby’s reaction to that catnip owl, I’d say this DIY cat boo basket was a success. 😹 And before the jug was transformed, Cat’s Pride made litter box duty a whole lot easier. But here’s a fun fact about our little rescue kitty! 🐈‍⬛ When we adopted Riley, my mom actually adopted her biological mama, Smoke! So technically, Riley’s mom lives with her grandma now. 🤣 Which means we can visit her anytime we want!

It’s creamy, cheesy, loaded with ranch and bacon, and perfect for serving with crackers and pretzels. 😍 Here’s what you’ll need:
🏈 FOOTBALL CHEESE BALL:
• 16 oz cream cheese (2 8-oz blocks), softened
• 2 tbsp sour cream
• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 oz ranch seasoning (1 packet)
• ¼ cup chopped green onions
• ½ cup chopped bacon or bacon bits

• 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
🏈 FOR THE COATING:
• ⅓ cup chopped pecans

DIY Ice Cream Labels

You know I love me a good quick and easy DIY project. And these DIY Ice Cream Labels are just that! We make a lot of homemade ice cream during the summer. So I thought it would be perfect to order some ice cream containers to store it in.

Up until this point, we have been storing the ice cream in just Ziploc freezer bags. Classy, right? Lol well now I ordered me some cute containers from Amazon.

And I thought I would take it just a step further and make cute little ice cream labels with my Cricut machine. For July 4th this year, we were designated to bring ice cream to the family cookout.

I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to test out my Cricut and make us some labels. That way, our containers don’t get mixed up with anyone else’s since they are personalized too!

DIY Ice Cream Labels
Look how cute they turned out to be!

This post contains affiliate links. Click here to read my disclosure policy.

Materials Needed:

  • Ice Cream Containers
  • Vinyl (I used a mixture of both black and pink vinyl)
  • Transfer Tape
  • Cricut Standard Grip Mat
  • Cricut Machine (I used my Explore Air 2 machine)
Ice Cream Containers
Here are what the blank containers look like before the labels were added.

Design Your Labels on Cricut Design Space

The first thing I did was to design my DIY Ice Cream Labels on design space. I simply came up with two different designs since I had four containers.

I wanted them to be a little different and not all the same. So I just typed in “The Gentry’s Homemade Ice Cream” in the Bradley Hand font for one design.

Then, I just searched for ice cream in the images section of design space and found one simple image that I thought would be cute for it.

Designing Labels fo Ice Cream Containers
Here is the vinyl lettering label for one of the containers.

I used some of my Cricut tools to remove the excess vinyl. Again, the more you do this, the easier it becomes. I think I am finally getting the hang of it now!

It doesn’t take me near as long as it once did. And these labels were a breeze compared to the vinyl I had to cut out for my DIY Vintage Advertising Jar I did last week! This was much more simple!

Apply Transfer Tape to Labels

Once I had my lettering all cut out, it was ready to apply. I applied these labels the same way I always do with my other Cricut projects. See my DIY Plant Labels post for more specific instructions if you missed that in the past.

I must say getting a huge roll of transfer tape is a must if you plan on making a lot with vinyl too. I ordered a big roll of it when I first got my Cricut machine. And I still haven’t ran out of it yet.

Even though, as you can see on my blog, a lot of my DIY projects here lately have been Cricut related!

Applying Transfer Tape to Vinyl
Here is the label with the transfer tape on it.

Just cut out a piece of transfer tape around the same size as your label. Then, place it on top and go to town with the scraper tool! Again, if you don’t have a scraper tool, a credit card will work just fine here!

You basically want to make sure it sticks to the transfer tape completely. But, don’t worry if you start to pull it up and some of the letters aren’t attached. Just place it back down again and apply more pressure.

Apply Labels to Ice Cream Containers

The next step to these DIY Ice Cream Labels is to just apply them to the container! After you peeled the transfer tape from the vinyl backing, you can now stick it on to the container.

I was a little worried that they wouldn’t stick well to this container because of the material. But it worked like a dream! My Cricut hasn’t let me down at all so far!

Applying label to ice cream containers

Once you have it placed where you want it, just apply firm pressure again to make sure it adheres well to the container. Then slowly, and at an angle, peel the transfer tape off of the container. And that’s it!

You now have cute and customized ice cream labels! You could really go all out and even make custom flavor ones. Like if you always made a certain flavor, you could create that as a label instead.

I’m too OCD for that though. I couldn’t store “Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough” in a “Strawberry” container if you know what I mean!

Lol but seriously, that is what I love about my Cricut machine. The possibilities really are endless.

Ice Cream Labels

How The DIY Ice Cream Labels Have Held Up

So I made these labels several weeks ago and they have held up just fine. The ice cream containers are dishwasher safe, but since I added the labels, I decided to do hand wash only.

I am not sure how well they would hold up in the dishwasher. They also store ice cream just perfectly in the freezer. No freezer burn or anything!

I would definitely recommend them, even if you didn’t want to make your own DIY Ice Cream Labels for them! In my opinion, you can never have too many containers to hold some tasty homemade ice cream.

Am I right or am I right?!

Poor Riley! The look of absolute SHOCK on her face when she hears about her past! 🤣 I swear, the dramatic reactions of cats are just too funny sometimes!

But here’s a fun fact about our little rescue kitty! 🐈‍⬛ When we adopted Riley, my mom actually adopted her biological mama, Smoke! So technically, Riley’s mom lives with her grandma now. 🤣 Which means we can visit her anytime we want!

So don’t worry, Riley! We know exactly where you came from, and your mama is living her best life too! 😹❤️

Please tell me I’m not the only crazy cat mom who makes up dramatic storylines about her cats?! 🤣

• 2 tbsp sour cream
• 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
• 1 oz ranch seasoning (1 packet)
• ¼ cup chopped green onions
• ½ cup chopped bacon or bacon bits

But cat scratching pads?! Those are her absolute FAVORITE. She’s just about worn her old one out, so when I spotted this adorable Halloween cat scratching pad at Target, obviously I had to bring it home for her. 🎃

POV: you let your tuxedo cat snuggle on you while POV: you let your tuxedo cat snuggle on you while wearing a dark colored sweat set… rookie mistake. 😹

Consider this my official reminder to NEVER wear burgundy while cuddling Charlie again. 😂 One snuggle session later and my entire outfit is covered in black and white cat hair.

And the craziest part?! We literally JUST brushed her yesterday. 😬 How does one fluffy little tuxedo cat have this much fur to give?!

Being a cat mom basically means accepting that cat hair is now an accessory, your lint roller is your best friend, and you’ll be doing laundry for the rest of your life. 🤣

Thankfully, Charlie is cute enough to get away with it… and clearly VERY unbothered by the fact that she completely ruined my outfit. 😹

Tuxedo cat parents… PLEASE tell me I’m not the only one constantly covered in cat hair?! 👇🏻

10 YEARS. 🤍😭 Today is our 10 year wedding anniver 10 YEARS. 🤍😭

Today is our 10 year wedding anniversary, and I truly cannot believe an entire decade has already gone by. Somehow, it feels like we were just saying “I do,” and at the same time, I can’t imagine a version of my life without you in it.

Logan, you are my rock, my safe space, my biggest supporter, my constant encourager, and most importantly, my best friend. 🤍

This past year has probably been one of the hardest years we’ve walked through together. Between everything going on with my health, the uncertainty surrounding my job and my future, and all the unknowns we’ve had to navigate, life has looked a lot different than I ever imagined it would.

But through every hard day, every appointment, every disappointment, every fear, and every unknown, you have been right there beside me. You’ve supported me, encouraged me, taken care of me, made me laugh when I needed it most, and reminded me over and over again that I never have to go through any of it alone.

And I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully put into words how much that means to me.

I’m so incredibly blessed that God gave me you. 🥹🤍 I would choose you over and over again in every lifetime.

Happy 10 year anniversary, Logan!! I love you more than you’ll ever know. Here’s to the next 10 years, and every single year after that. 🥂🤍

A whole decade down, forever to go. ♾️
