If you’re like me and love having hanging baskets on your porch, but hate watering them, then this post is for you. Today, I am going to share with you all how to make your own hanging baskets for fall, but completely faux.
That way you can be worry-free about watering them. And the good news is that you can reuse them year after year too!
You don’t have to worry about having a full sun or shady spot, because we’re using faux plants here. So they will be perfect in whatever outdoor space you have.
And they are super easy to make as well. You’re going to want to switch over to faux after you realize how good they look too!
It may be an unusual hanging basket idea, but trust me, it works! Keep on reading for the full tutorial and let me know what you think!

Supplies Needed To Make Your Own Hanging Basket:
I’m going to link the exact products I used here so you can mimic mine exactly. If you have different faux fall florals, just be sure to get a good measurement so you can order the correct size of hanging basket you may need.

How To Make Fall Hanging Basket:
As you can see above, there are hardly any materials needed to make these easy hanging baskets. The faux mums I ordered come in a sphere.
But, you can break them apart to where you make 2 half circles with them, which is what I did. That way, one set is enough for 2 different hanging baskets.
We have really bad wind here at our house so I was worried about just placing the half circle on the hanging basket without securing it properly.

To remedy this, I decided to attach the edge of the faux mums to the rim of the basket using the floral wire. You could also put something weighted in the bottom of the basket too.
But, I just went around the basket, adding floral wire and securing the mums in place. Then, using sharp scissors, I went around and trimmed the excess floral wires off the edge of the basket.

And that’s it! See how super simple and easy that was to do?! It’s the perfect way to get the look of a real mums hanging basket without all the hassle.
Enjoy Your Faux Fall Hanging Basket!
For the finishing touches, I used the shepherd’s hooks on the basket to hang them right on my front porch. I think they turned out absolutely perfect!

And I am so excited to reuse them year after year without wasting my money on real mums, only to have them die a few weeks after.
It’s initially a little bit of an investment at first, but being able to reuse them every fall totally makes it worth it! Tell me, do you like using real or faux mums in your fall decor too?!
