I almost didn’t post this. After sharing all of ou I almost didn’t post this. After sharing all of our beach vacation content last week, it probably looked like we had the perfect trip. Smiles, sunsets, seafood, beach days, and we truly did make some amazing memories.
But social media rarely shows everything. What you didn’t see was my heart pounding every time I carried my beach bag down to the sand. Feeling so dizzy and nauseous that I had to run back to the condo just to throw up. Watching my heart rate skyrocket and my Apple Watch constantly sending high heart rate notifications, even while I was just sitting at dinner or relaxing on the couch. Imagine how high it gets when I’m actually doing something. You didn’t see my hands shaking so badly that putting on my makeup became a challenge.
Or the hours spent on the phone with doctors, insurance companies, and specialists trying to get referrals approved, MRIs scheduled, and answers that still haven’t come. After weeks of waiting, I finally got my brain, spine, and lower back MRIs scheduled, but they’re not until August 18. So now comes even more waiting and hoping for answers. 🙃
You didn’t see me checking my suitcase over and over, terrified I’d forget an important medication or something I might need while we were away.
And when we finally made it home? I ended up with what seemed like an allergic reaction, my right eye swelled shut, burned, and watered nonstop, my nose couldn’t decide if it wanted to be stuffed up or run like a faucet, and I topped it all off with a pounding migraine. This is the reality of living with an invisible illness.
You learn how to smile through the symptoms. You push through when you can. You rest when you have to. And you become really good at making things look “normal” even when your body is fighting you every step of the way. So if you’ve ever looked at someone’s vacation photos and thought they must have it all together, this is your reminder that you never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.
And to my sweet hubby, thank you for giving me grace, slowing down when I need to, carrying the things I can’t, and reminding me that making memories together is what matters most ♥️

Where To Stay In Brevard, NC

This past week, we had the incredible experience of going to Brevard for a couple of days. So I figured I would share exactly where to stay in Brevard, NC with you all too.

That way, if you’re looking to plan a trip, you will know exactly where to book and where to go as well. Because trust me, you don’t want to miss this place!

We were lucky enough to stay at the beautiful Meraki Escape and I am telling you, this is the ultimate couples getaway! If you’re celebrating an anniversary, an elopement, Valentine’s Day, a birthday, or really just need an excuse to get away for a little bit with your spouse, this is the place.

Not only is the cabin beautiful and full of amenities, but they offer several unique packages and experiences as well! I will be highlighting everything we did during our two night stay there in this post for you.

And honestly, two nights was not enough! I would love to be able to stay a full week there. It was truly so relaxing and much needed for me and my hubby! So if you’re needing a romantic escape too, keep on reading to see just how truly magical Meraki is!

Sunset Views

This post also contains affiliate links, which means I make a small commission off anything you purchase through here, at no additional cost to you. Please read my full Disclosure policy for more details.

Ukiyo Cabin

We stayed in the Ukiyo Cabin and it was none other than perfect. Right now, there are two cozy cabins on the property, and they have plans on expanding eventually as well. But all the amenities the cabin offered inside was truly incredible. We really had everything we needed, and more!

Cabin Name

Bedroom

One thing I can appreciate now that I am older when traveling is having a nice firm mattress and a ceiling fan, blasted on high, when sleeping.

Meraki Bedroom
Bed

And I am happy to report that our cabin had both so we were really able to rest and sleep well. The cabin is also dog friendly, so there is a crate and everything you need for your furry friend too, which is always a nice touch.

Dog Supplies

And, I always love a nice, plush hotel robe, and Meraki has them hanging and ready to go in your bedroom closet too.

Robes

There is also a washer and dryer as well as room darkening curtains, so you can sleep in as late as you want to!

Laundry

And right before you enter the bedroom, there is a huge shelf of books! Which is right up my alley too. I absolutely love to read, so it’s nice to know if you forgot a book, they have you completely covered with all their reading material too!

Book View

Bathroom

I think it goes without saying that the best part of the bathroom is the spa shower. It is a walk-In with dual shower heads, body jets and rainfall shower head too.

Shower

Plus, it is fully stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash too. In the shower itself, there is a skylight and a bench too so you truly have everything you need to enjoy a nice long and hot shower!

Shower Supplies

I also loved that there is a vanity area in the bathroom so when you’re getting ready, you have a nice spot to do so. There is also an ample supply of mouthwash and lotion ready to go, and not only is there a hairdryer, but a straightener too!

Vanity

I always think that hotels should have this option as well. It’s so nice to have that and not have to bring your own from home!

Bathroom

Also, the bathroom was fully stocked with not only bathroom towels, but towels for the hot tub outside too which was so nice to be able to grab and go!

Bathroom View

Living Room

The living room and kitchen area are a nice and open concept so even though the cabin is small, you feel like you have plenty of room! Plus, there is a gas fireplace in the living room too which I am always a fan of as well.

Living Room

And of course, the wi-fi in the cabin was strong and worked really well too. As far as streaming services go for the TV, there is Youtube TV, so you are pretty much able to watch whatever show you want! The leather sofa was super comfy to relax on and watch our favorite shows.

Inside Cabin

Kitchen

I absolutely loved the kitchen in this place! It was fully stocked with every kind of drink ware you could possibly need, as well as plenty of plates and silverware too.

Kitchen View

I also loved the fact that there were plenty of spices and cooking oil for you to use too. When I’m on vacation, I always hate grocery shopping and trying to get all those basic things, because usually I always forget them. So it’s nice that I didn’t even have to worry about it here!

Spices in Kitchen

Another one of my favorite things, was that the fridge was fully stocked with farm fresh eggs for us to use, as well as other breakfast items such as bagels and oatmeal too.

Farm Fresh Eggs

Plus, there was lemon infused water in a pitcher (as well as bottled water) for us to use and enjoy too!

Water

I just love little thoughtful touches like that when we are staying somewhere. There were also several coffee options as well.

Coffee on Porch

And even a cute little hot cocoa bar to enjoy too! The attention to detail in this cabin was nothing short of amazing!

Hot Cocoa Bar

Another thing I loved was the juicer! And we were even supplied with fresh oranges to use it with. So naturally we had freshly squeezed orange juice every morning. And even made a mimosa or two with them as well!

Juicer
OJ
Freshly Squeezed OJ Mimosas

Exterior

The exterior of the cabin is really just as amazing as the interior of it! Of course, my favorite feature was the hot tub! Y’all know we have one at home too and absolutely love it.

Hot Tub Deck Views

So I always require a hot tub when we stay somewhere on vacation too. There is nothing like soaking in a hot tub to help relieve all my aching joints!

Hot Tub Deck
Us in Hot Tub
Hot Tub
Views From Hot Tub
Sunset Views From Hot Tub

And once you’re used to that life, there is no going back! Plus, the outdoor deck offered incredible views too. And you can even use the privacy curtains around the hot tub, while still enjoying the view outside too.

Hot Tub

On the deck there is also a fire table, which we enjoyed nightly! And there is a Weber grill outside too so if you want to throw anything on the grill for dinner, you could easily do so!

Fire Table on Deck

Like I already mentioned, the views from the outdoor deck were incredible. We even had a full moon the first night we were there, so the porch was beautifully lit from that.

Full Moon

You can also see Lake Jocassee from out in the distance too!

Sunset View

So as you can see, the outside of the cabin truly is just as magical as the inside too!

Porch Furniture
Fire Table

Meraki Experiences

Well, now you know where to stay in Brevard, NC! But Meraki is more than just a luxury cabin stay, they also offer so many cool experiences as well!

Couples Massage

We were able to do a couples massage one day and they come directly in your cabin and set everything up for you. That way, you don’t even have to leave to enjoy the massage, which is so nice!

Us After Couples Massage

Another experience we did was have a private chef, Amber Cate, come in and make us a phenomenal three course meal.

Burrata Salad

Everything was so delicious and again, it was so nice to be able to just sit back and relax and not even worry about dinner! If you’re local to the Asheville area like us, Chef Amber Cate also does catering options around the area too.

Shrimp and Scallops

So if you ever need a private chef for something, keep her in mind because literally our dinner was one of the best meals we’ve ever had!

Dessert

A Free Gift With Your Stay!

Well, if I haven’t convinced you by now that you need to take a trip to Brevard, NC and stay at Meraki, maybe this will sweeten the deal even more!

Gift Basket

They were nice enough to give me a coupon code for you all. Just use “MACEDONIA” when checking out to receive a locally curated gift basket (worth over $125!). It will be filled with all sorts of local goods and gifts!
