Plot twist: Riley’s biological mom is still part o Plot twist: Riley’s biological mom is still part of the family too! 😹🐾

A few years ago on Valentine’s Day morning, my mom discovered a mama cat and her three kittens on her front porch. As a lifelong cat lover, there was absolutely no way I wasn’t bringing one of those sweet rescue kittens home once she was old enough. And that’s how Riley became part of our family. ❤️

Fast forward to today, and Riley has grown into the funniest, sassiest, most personality-filled cat I’ve ever had. She’s definitely not a lap cat, and she makes you work for every ounce of attention and affection, but somehow that just makes me love her even more. 😂

The best part? My mom ended up keeping Riley’s mom, Smoke, while finding loving homes for all the other kittens. So Riley’s mama is still around, and we get to see her from time to time. 🥹🐱

It feels like this whole rescue cat story was just meant to be. ❤️

As someone who deals with chronic lower back pain and everyday stress, I count down the days until my next appointment!

Sure, it’s not a permanent fix, but even a little relief can make a huge difference. I always leave feeling more relaxed, less tense, and ready to take on life again (or at least survive another work week 😜).

If you’ve ever struggled with chronic pain, muscle tension, or stress, you know how amazing that post-massage feeling is!

And let me tell you… this pepper was DELICIOUS! 🙌 Now I’m anxiously waiting for our cucumbers, squash, and tomatoes to really start producing. There’s just something so exciting about watching a vegetable garden grow and finally getting to enjoy the fruits (and veggies!) of your labor.

Apparently, if I had actually read the product description, I would have known that. But who has time for details when you’re busy adding things to your cart? 😂

After a LOT of fluffing, shaping, and styling, though, these faux hanging ferns turned out so good! I love using artificial hanging baskets on our porch because they’re completely low-maintenance, stay green year-round, and don’t require me to climb a ladder every few days to water them. As someone who’s vertically challenged, that’s a major win. 🤣

Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

I officially made it through my first full week back to work after a month-long surgery leave, and whew… the post-op fatigue is NO joke.

Every evening has looked pretty much the same: clock out, soak my aching body in a scorching hot bath, grab my heating pad, put on my weighted eye mask, and immediately take a cat nap before I can even think about making dinner or doing anything around the house. 😴

I knew recovering from endometriosis excision surgery would take time, but I didn’t expect the exhaustion to hit this hard after returning to work. My body is definitely reminding me that healing isn’t always a straight line.

Right now, this little recovery routine is getting me through:
💛 Hot bath
💛 Heating pad on full blast
💛 Weighted eye mask (shoutout to @nodpodofficial)
💛 Emergency evening nap

Thankfully, it’s finally the weekend, and I can focus on resting and recharging before doing it all over again next week.

If you’ve had endometriosis excision surgery, how long did the fatigue last for you after returning to work? Please tell me this part doesn’t last forever! 😂👇

Whenever I have a bad day at work, I remind myself that I need that paycheck so my cats can stay home all day, nap in peace, eat snacks, and live their best spoiled-cat lives. 😂

This first week back at work has been ROUGH, y’all. I miss being home with my fur babies more than anything. Honestly, I think my true calling in life is being a stay-at-home cat mom. 🐾

But unfortunately, someone has to pay for the treats, toys, fancy food, and all the other necessities required to maintain this luxury cat lifestyle. And that someone is me. 😅

The funniest part? I don’t even think little Miss Riley misses me. As long as the food bowl stays full and the treats keep coming, she’s perfectly content living her best life while I’m out here working my butt off. 🤣

Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Goo Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Google every possible side effect before starting a new medication? Because I swear if there’s a rare reaction listed, somehow I’m the lucky winner. 🤣

Being chronically ill means I’ve tried my fair share of medications over the years, and my body always seems to have a mind of its own. If a medicine is supposed to make people sleepy, I’ll be wide awake all night. If there’s a tiny chance of an adverse reaction, somehow I’m usually that tiny percentage. 😅

So starting a new medication is always a little nerve-wracking for me. Part of me is hopeful it’ll finally provide some relief, and the other part is preparing for whatever random side effect my body decides to throw my way.

Honestly, staying home healing after surgery has taught me one thing… I never want to leave my house again 😂 Being cozy at home with my cats, resting, binge watching shows, and avoiding the outside world has been absolutely glorious. I truly understand the “stay at home cat mom” lifestyle now lol.

At this point, I have everything I need right here at home. Peace, comfy clothes, snacks, my pets, and zero social obligations 🤣 Meanwhile, every time I actually leave the house, I come back completely exhausted.

So the fact that I have to go back to work today after a month of recovery is honestly going to be SUCH a rough adjustment 😅 I’m not mentally prepared to rejoin society yet lol. Anyone else secretly love being home way too much?!

Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of going back to work while still recovering from surgery. Between the physical healing and the emotional side of post-surgery recovery, I’ve been feeling pretty down lately. So this comedy date night ended up being exactly what I needed.

We bought tickets to see @johnbcrist months ago, long before I had any idea I’d be spending a month on surgery leave. Turns out the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. This was our third time seeing him live, and he absolutely delivered. I laughed so hard that for a couple of hours, I completely forgot about returning to work, ongoing recovery, and all the stress waiting for me next week. 🤣

Before the show, we had dinner at @redgingerasianbistro and finished the night with dessert at @timesbarandcoffee which made the whole evening even better. Good food, lots of laughs, and quality time with my husband was exactly the distraction I needed.

How To Style an Easter Coffee Bar

I figured since y’all loved my DIY coffee bar I did in my camper, I would show you a step by step process of how to style an Easter coffee bar as well.

This coffee bar is my big one I have at home and you know I love to style it for different seasons. So I thought it would be fun to go into more depth and explain my process behind styling the coffee bar.

And since Easter is coming up soon, it is the perfect time to redecorate and show y’all!

Easter Coffee Bar
Here she is all styled up for Easter this year!

This post contains affiliate links. Click here to read my disclosure policy.

Start With The Basics

When I restyle my coffee bar, I like to remove all the pieces I had on it for the previous season. I had it decorated for Valentine’s Day and I wanted to start fresh.

This also helps me get everything organized to pack away for next year’s decoration as well. After removing all the seasonal decor, I am left with the basic pieces I keep on the bar year round.

Such as my Keurig, tiered tray, and my coffee and tea canisters.

Start With the basics
This is where I keep all my basic pieces every time I start styling it over again.

I don’t really go back and look at my previous years past on how I styled it then. My decor is always revolving and changing.

I do usually keep the same pieces, but mix it up when styling them. For example, I always reuse my Rae Dunn Easter pieces but change up where I place them each year.

Add In Some Seasonal Mugs

I always start with adding in my seasonal mugs to my coffee bar. My sweet hubby drilled 6 hooks underneath the shelf for me to hang my mugs on.

We basically did the same thing here as we did at the camper too. That way, you can easily see my Easter mugs hanging there. If you don’t have any seasonal mugs, no worries.

I think a basic white mug or any kind of mug would do just fine. You don’t always have to create a coffee bar for every season if you don’t want to.

I just enjoy it so much and look forward to the next season when I can redecorate it. It’s good for my creative soul!

Add in Some Seasonal Mugs
Here are all my seasonal mugs that I have hanging up.

Style The Shelf

Once I have placed all my mugs on the hooks, I start to style the shelf.

I always like to start with one big piece as my anchor first. I chose to put a big canister on the top left corner and start there.

Styling the Coffee Bar Shelf
I start with a big canister and go from there when styling.

Then I like to add in a seasonal sign, such as this cute one from Rodworks in Asheville. I like little signs like the one below because it doesn’t take away from my big coffee bar sign above.

I want everything to look nice and neat and not have to fight against each other for attention.

Easter shelf styling on coffee bar
Rodworks has so many cute signs like this to choose from!

Then, I like to add in a few more fun details. Such as another seasonal mug with some fun paper straws in it. I love using colored and patterned paper straws like this.

You can usually find them at Michael’s or any other craft store for that matter. I have many different colors already and they are easy to switch out from season to season.

The pink color is so versatile because not only can I use it for my Easter coffee bar, but also Spring decor as well. And I even used it already for Valentine’s Day decor too!

Paper Straws in Mug
You can see the paper straws above in my mug. I will link some other options for you below too:

Fill in The Gaps

I’m not a professional decorator and I just like to play around with things until they look good to my eye. The best advice I can give you when styling an open shelf is to step back and take a picture.

If things look off in the picture, then start rearranging them! Also, don’t be afraid to just take a break if you start feeling overwhelmed when styling.

I have to be in the mood to style and decorate and if I try to force it, it just doesn’t work for me.

Filling in the gaps on the shelf
I’m loving how it looks so far!

Another thing I like to do to fill in some space is to add in a fun garland.

I have this cute Easter egg one that I found at Hobby Lobby several years ago. It is perfect for my Easter coffee bar!

Add in a Garland
You can clearly see my Easter egg garland on the shelf here now! I will link some other cute garland options below for you too:

Style an Easter Tiered Tray

I always have a tiered tray to go along with my coffee bar decor. So I of course like to style that for Easter as well. I just add in simple little touches to things I already have on the tray.

Such as little carrots in my creamer pitcher. Or little Easter eggs in my stackable bowls. I also add in small, tabletop signs and some more of my favorite paper straws again.

Styling an Easter Coffee Bar
Here she is all finished up for Easter!

Another final thing I like to do is add in a seasonal apron. I attached a command hook to the side of our cabinetry next to the coffee bar.

And I like to switch out fun aprons with pretty patterns from season to season as well.

Conclusion

Well, I hope this gave you some inspiration on how to style your own Easter coffee bar. I also hope it gave you some insight into how my thought process works when I am styling a space.

Again, you don’t have to go all out every season like I do, but I think adding in little seasonal touches here and there is so much fun.

Plus, having reusable pieces that you can incorporate into different seasons is key too! So tell me, do you decorate for Easter too?! Let me know below!

I love all your seasonal decor! I don’t think I’m aware of anyone who decorates so thoroughly for the seasons, it’s amazing. This coffee bar looks fab! x

Beautiful! I’ve been meaning to get started on creating our coffee bar but COVID keeps stepping in the way. I love the details and the destress on the coffee bar is gorgeous.

This is so creative and well-done! I have a tiny space on my kitchen counter for my coffee pot and my espresso machine is in my office/library room, so there’s not really much of a space to decorate. But you sure are giving me great inspiration for the future!

Do your pets have a special adoption story too? Share it below! ⬇️🐾

There’s just something about soaking up a little vitamin D, listening to the water, and completely slowing down for a few hours. And let’s not forget the elite summer activity: the post-lunch poolside nap. 😂

These are the simple summer moments I look forward to all year long, and honestly, I wish every Friday could look like this!

Last year, my hubby gifted me a monthly massage me Last year, my hubby gifted me a monthly massage membership for my birthday, and honestly, it has been one of the best gifts I’ve ever received.

So tell me… are you a massage person too, or do you prefer other self-care treatments? 👇

After all the money we’ve spent on raised garden beds, soil, plants, fertilizer, and supplies, this little pepper is basically worth its weight in gold! 😂 But honestly, there’s nothing more rewarding than walking outside and harvesting fresh vegetables from your own backyard garden.

Who else is gardening this year? 🌱 What are you growing, and what’s been your biggest success so far? Drop your garden updates below because I love seeing what everyone is growing! 👇🍅🥒🌶️

If you’re looking for realistic faux outdoor plants, easy porch decorating ideas, or low-maintenance outdoor decor, I highly recommend giving these a try!

Would you choose real plants or faux plants for your porch? 🌿👇

Can we talk about how exhausting working with the Can we talk about how exhausting working with the public can be? Some days I’m convinced my true calling is being a remote work, stay-at-home employee with minimal social interaction because nothing drains my social battery faster. 😅

But here we are, another workday, another dollar, and we’re just gonna power through and get it done. 💪

Anyone else feel completely wiped out after talking to people all day, or is that just my introvert/neurodivergent brain? 🤪 #workhumor #workingwiththepublic #officehumor #relatablecontent #funnyworkmemes
Happy Sunday, friends! ☀️Sharing a few cozy Sunday Happy Sunday, friends! ☀️Sharing a few cozy Sunday stills of our front porch today because I’m absolutely soaking up this beautiful weather. There’s just something special about slowing down, enjoying some good old-fashioned porch sitting, and taking in the sights and sounds of summer. Anyone else spending time outside today?

I’m especially excited that we finally got our flower beds refreshed and ready for the season! 🌸🐦 The colorful blooms have already started attracting hummingbirds, and watching them dart around the flowers from inside the house each morning has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the day.

Between the front porch decor, blooming flowers, and warm summer sunshine, home feels extra sweet right now. ❤️

Wishing you all a relaxing Sunday filled with sunshine, fresh air, and a little time to enjoy the simple things. #sundaystills #flowerbed #flowerbeds #porchdecor #porchsitting
But can we talk about how hard it is to make frien But can we talk about how hard it is to make friends in your 30s?! Is anyone else struggling with adult friendships, or is it just me?

Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

So if you’re also navigating social anxiety, an expired social battery, awkward small talk, and the challenge of making friends as an adult... welcome. You’re my people.

At least in my head, I’m the life of the party. 🎉🤣 #neurodivergent #neurodivergentsupport #socialanxietymemes #adultfriendships #socialbattery
POV: You survived your first full week back at wor POV: You survived your first full week back at work after endometriosis excision surgery… and this is what recovery really looks like. 😂

POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you rem POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you remember you’re funding your cat’s luxury lifestyle. 😹

Any other cat parents feel like they’re just employees funding their pets’ dreams? 🐱💸 #stayathomecat #stayathomecatmom #catmom #catmomproblems #catmomprobs

Here’s hoping this one actually helps my symptoms without adding a whole new list of problems. 🤞😂

Tell me I’m not the only one who reads the side effects before taking a new prescription! 👇 #sideeffects #medicationsideeffects #chronicallyill #chronicillnesslife #chronicillnessmemes
Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙 There’s Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙

There’s just something about decorating with old red, white, and blue treasures that makes a home feel extra cozy for summer. I love styling my dining room shelves with vintage Americana pieces, antique finds, and patriotic decor that can stay up from Memorial Day all the way through the Fourth of July and beyond!

Give me all the weathered flags, vintage crocks, old books, and classic Americana touches. 🇺🇸

I know some people pack away their patriotic decorations after July 4th, but I love leaving my summer patriotic decor out all season long. It just feels timeless to me!

POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month t POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month turned me into a full-time homebody 🤣

Sometimes healing isn’t just about physical recovery. Sometimes it’s about finding little moments that remind you how good it feels to laugh again. ❤️
