Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

So if you’re also navigating social anxiety, an expired social battery, awkward small talk, and the challenge of making friends as an adult... welcome. You’re my people.

I officially made it through my first full week back to work after a month-long surgery leave, and whew… the post-op fatigue is NO joke.

Every evening has looked pretty much the same: clock out, soak my aching body in a scorching hot bath, grab my heating pad, put on my weighted eye mask, and immediately take a cat nap before I can even think about making dinner or doing anything around the house. 😴

I knew recovering from endometriosis excision surgery would take time, but I didn’t expect the exhaustion to hit this hard after returning to work. My body is definitely reminding me that healing isn’t always a straight line.

Right now, this little recovery routine is getting me through:
💛 Hot bath
💛 Heating pad on full blast
💛 Weighted eye mask (shoutout to @nodpodofficial)
💛 Emergency evening nap

Thankfully, it’s finally the weekend, and I can focus on resting and recharging before doing it all over again next week.

If you’ve had endometriosis excision surgery, how long did the fatigue last for you after returning to work? Please tell me this part doesn’t last forever! 😂👇

Whenever I have a bad day at work, I remind myself that I need that paycheck so my cats can stay home all day, nap in peace, eat snacks, and live their best spoiled-cat lives. 😂

This first week back at work has been ROUGH, y’all. I miss being home with my fur babies more than anything. Honestly, I think my true calling in life is being a stay-at-home cat mom. 🐾

But unfortunately, someone has to pay for the treats, toys, fancy food, and all the other necessities required to maintain this luxury cat lifestyle. And that someone is me. 😅

The funniest part? I don’t even think little Miss Riley misses me. As long as the food bowl stays full and the treats keep coming, she’s perfectly content living her best life while I’m out here working my butt off. 🤣

Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Goo Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Google every possible side effect before starting a new medication? Because I swear if there’s a rare reaction listed, somehow I’m the lucky winner. 🤣

Being chronically ill means I’ve tried my fair share of medications over the years, and my body always seems to have a mind of its own. If a medicine is supposed to make people sleepy, I’ll be wide awake all night. If there’s a tiny chance of an adverse reaction, somehow I’m usually that tiny percentage. 😅

So starting a new medication is always a little nerve-wracking for me. Part of me is hopeful it’ll finally provide some relief, and the other part is preparing for whatever random side effect my body decides to throw my way.

Here’s hoping this one actually helps my symptoms without adding a whole new list of problems. 🤞😂

Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙 There’s Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙

There’s just something about decorating with old red, white, and blue treasures that makes a home feel extra cozy for summer. I love styling my dining room shelves with vintage Americana pieces, antique finds, and patriotic decor that can stay up from Memorial Day all the way through the Fourth of July and beyond!

Give me all the weathered flags, vintage crocks, old books, and classic Americana touches. 🇺🇸

I know some people pack away their patriotic decorations after July 4th, but I love leaving my summer patriotic decor out all season long. It just feels timeless to me!

Honestly, staying home healing after surgery has taught me one thing… I never want to leave my house again 😂 Being cozy at home with my cats, resting, binge watching shows, and avoiding the outside world has been absolutely glorious. I truly understand the “stay at home cat mom” lifestyle now lol.

At this point, I have everything I need right here at home. Peace, comfy clothes, snacks, my pets, and zero social obligations 🤣 Meanwhile, every time I actually leave the house, I come back completely exhausted.

So the fact that I have to go back to work today after a month of recovery is honestly going to be SUCH a rough adjustment 😅 I’m not mentally prepared to rejoin society yet lol. Anyone else secretly love being home way too much?!

Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of going back to work while still recovering from surgery. Between the physical healing and the emotional side of post-surgery recovery, I’ve been feeling pretty down lately. So this comedy date night ended up being exactly what I needed.

We bought tickets to see @johnbcrist months ago, long before I had any idea I’d be spending a month on surgery leave. Turns out the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. This was our third time seeing him live, and he absolutely delivered. I laughed so hard that for a couple of hours, I completely forgot about returning to work, ongoing recovery, and all the stress waiting for me next week. 🤣

Before the show, we had dinner at @redgingerasianbistro and finished the night with dessert at @timesbarandcoffee which made the whole evening even better. Good food, lots of laughs, and quality time with my husband was exactly the distraction I needed.

Sometimes healing isn’t just about physical recovery. Sometimes it’s about finding little moments that remind you how good it feels to laugh again. ❤️

Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I have to chop onions because my eyes tear up so bad… 🤣

Ever since I had LASIK surgery a few years ago, chopping onions has been brutal on my eyes. I’m talking instant tears the second I start cutting them 😂 Apparently my eyes became extra sensitive afterward, and honestly it’s been a struggle ever since.

But then I heard about the “wear sunglasses while chopping onions” hack and y’all… why does it actually work?! 😅 So now anytime my hubby isn’t home to take over onion duty, you can catch me in the kitchen wearing sunglasses indoors looking ridiculous but tear-free 😎

If you’ve ever wondered how to stop crying while cutting onions, consider this your sign to try the sunglasses trick! It may look silly, but it seriously helps block those onion fumes from hitting your eyes 👏

Now I need to know… does anyone else have weird kitchen hacks like this? 😂 #kitchenhacks #cookinghacks #onionhack #cookinghack #onions
Y’all already know I’ve been on a serious freezer Y’all already know I’ve been on a serious freezer meal kick lately since I unfortunately have to go back to work next week 😭 And let me tell you… having a freezer stocked full of easy homemade dinners is about to save me on those busy weeknights!

One of my all-time favorite freezer meals is this homemade chicken pot pie recipe 🥧✨ It definitely takes a little extra work, especially if you make the homemade pie crust from scratch; but trust me, it is SO worth it. The creamy chicken filling, flaky buttery crust, and cozy comfort food vibes make it one of the best dinners ever.

Anytime I make homemade chicken pot pie, I always make two: one for dinner now and one freezer meal for later. And this time, I took my extra frozen chicken pot pie to my sweet mama after her surgery yesterday 💛 It’s honestly the perfect meal to bring someone recovering from surgery, welcoming a new baby, or just going through a hard season because all they have to do is pop it in the oven for an easy homemade comfort meal.

If you love easy freezer meals, homemade comfort food recipes, or make-ahead dinners for busy families, you definitely need to try this one!

I can’t believe it’s officially been one month sin I can’t believe it’s officially been one month since my endometriosis excision surgery. Honestly, I really thought by now I’d be coming on here saying I finally felt like myself again. I wanted this surgery to be the answer so badly. But the truth is… I’m still struggling every single day.

The lower back pain, hip pain, chronic fatigue, GI issues, insomnia, dizziness, and POTS-like symptoms are all still here. And while my surgeon was absolutely wonderful and removed the endometriosis she found, we’re now starting to realize there may be something more going on underneath it all.

Right now we’re exploring possibilities like EDS, MCAS, and POTS, which honestly feels overwhelming because getting doctors to truly listen and take women seriously can feel like a full time job in itself. I know so many women with chronic illness, endometriosis, and invisible illnesses understand exactly what I mean.

But even though I’m discouraged, I’m not giving up. I know my body, I know something still isn’t right, and I’ll continue advocating for myself until I get answers. And if sharing my story helps even one woman feel less alone in her own health journey, then it’s worth it 🤍 #chronicillnessawareness #chronicillnesswarrior #endometriosis #endometriosisexcision #chronicallyill

Is the Solo Stove Pi Pizza Oven Worth It?

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

Well friends, I am here to tell you all about the brand new Solo Stove product I was gifted today. And you may be a little confused based on the title and asking is Solo Stove making a pizza oven? I thought they were only fire pit products? And the answer is yes! They have made one and I’m here to answer the question, is the Solo Stove pi pizza oven worth it?

Me and my hubs tested the product out for y’all real good and now it’s time to share our honest review. We will be going over how to make the best pizza in the oven and our tips and tricks after using it for awhile. I’m even going to be sharing the pizza recipe we used below so you can make one too!

I hope you enjoy this Solo Stove pi pizza oven review and I hope it answers all the lingering questions you may have about the new product!

About the New Solo Stove Pi Pizza Oven

So here’s a little background info on the product in case you haven’t heard of it before. You can make restaurant quality pies with the gas or wood feature. Make wood-fired pizzas with kiln-dried cuts easily! And to bake them, you can use propane by adding on the gas burner attachment.

This oven has the signature Solo Stove design and is the perfect accessory for the modern backyard. It even recently made Oprah’s Favorite Things List of 2022! The pi pizza oven comes with a cordierite pizza stone which is both durable and reversible. Leaving you with several years of baking pizzas!

It’s easy and simple to use and whether you’re a beginner pizza baker or an expert, anyone can benefit from this oven. It’s designed for optimized heat distribution and minimal heat loss, creating the perfect pizza in just a matter of minutes.

Adding the Wood Chips to the back of the Pi Oven

How Hot Does the Solo Stove Pi Pizza Oven Get?

The pizza oven can reach up to 900 degrees Fahrenheit, depending on which method you are using to cook with. Using wood fire, the stone can get up to 750 degrees, with the ambient air getting up to 850 degrees.

If you are using gas, the stone can get up to 800 degrees, whereas the ambient air can reach the 900 degrees. Cooking with the gas is a great option if you need to make multiple pizzas in a row.

Especially if you have friends and family over. That way, you can focus on them and not trying to keep up the temperature with the wood fire.

You can buy the Solo Stove Pi Pizza Oven bundle where it comes with the propane burner, or you can purchase it separately. I would definitely recommend going ahead and grabbing one, that way you can cook the pizzas both ways whenever you want!

Cooking Pizza in Pi Pizza Oven

Cooking With Wood

You may be a little intimidated to cook a pizza with wood fire if you haven’t before. But, I am here to tell you, it is surprisingly easy! All you need to do is put a natural fire starter in the ash tray, which is in the back of the pi pizza oven.

Then, place the hardwood in the wood tray too. Light the fire starter and put the wood tray inside the ash tray. Replace the fire door and close it.

It is recommended to use kiln dried hardwood that is 1 inch by 5 inches long. You want this size because you can put them in 2 by 2 wide and 2 by 2 length wise – even 2 deep.

Checking Pi Oven Temperature

You also want to add one piece of wood every 5-10 minutes during the heating process as well. If you add more than one, it will slow down the heating time.

Once the temperature reaches 600 degrees, you can place the pizza inside. I recommend getting the infrared thermometer too so you can easily check the temperature. I will link the one we have below:

And, be sure to not add any more wood once you place the pizza in the oven. Ash is not a great pizza topping!

How Long Does It Take To Cook Pizza In A Solo Stove Pi Oven?

If you let the temperature heat up correctly, and then add the pizza in, it will literally cook it in just a matter of minutes. The key is to be patient and let it rise to the correct temperature.

Heating Up Pi Oven

The first time we cooked a pizza in the oven, we did not wait long enough for the oven to become hot. And it ended up being an absolute mess!

The stone wasn’t hot enough to cook the pizza dough, which made it stick and ultimately did not cook the dough well enough.

Finished Wood Fired Pizza

It burned the top, and left the bottom undone. So, learn from our mistake and be patient. Once it’s hot enough, it will cook it within 3-4 minutes!

Solo Stove Pizza Oven Price

If you’re interested in buying the best outdoor pizza oven, then I am sure you’re curious as to what the price is. The good news is that they have several bundles and options to fit your budget. And, they were nice enough to give me a coupon code! Just use “Charity10” to get 10% off your order!

For the wood fire pi pizza oven only, it retails for $399.99, and for the wood and gas bundle, it retails for $574.99. But again use my code and it can save you anywhere from $39.99-$57.49!

Solo Stove Pizza Oven Attachments

And of course, you may need a few attachments and accessories to go along with your pi pizza oven. I already recommended the infrared thermometer above, but you may also want to get a few other things.

Such as the Stainless Pi Pizza Turner:

Stainless Peel (We used this to place the pizza on while assembling all the toppings):

Bamboo Peel (We used this one to put the finished pizza on and to slice it for serving):

Your Basic Pizza Cutter:

Mini Oak Firewood:

Propane Attachment for Cooking with Gas:

Solo Stove Pizza Oven Recipe

Now that you have a little background on the Solo Stove Pi Pizza Oven, let me share with you our recipe we used for it! We kept it pretty simple with using just a few ingredients for it.

That’s another tip I have for you, keep your first pizza recipe simple!

Materials Needed for Campfire Pizza

Again, I didn’t do that for the first recipe we tried that didn’t turn out well. I even made my own pizza dough and created a delicious BBQ sauce.

So it was going to be a BBQ chicken pizza. But, like I mentioned above, we didn’t let the oven heat up long enough so ultimately it did not turn out.

Pizza Ready to Go in Pi Oven

Which sucked because that was a ton of work for nothing! So, for your first pizza I would suggest using a store-bought pizza crust and creating a classic pepperoni pizza. That way you can get your feet wet and get the hang of it.

Getting the Pizza out of the Pi Oven

Here is the pizza oven recipe we used below:

Ingredients

  • 1 store-bought pizza crust
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 jar marinara sauce you don't need to use the whole jar, you will have leftover
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup pepperoni
  • 1 tsp pizza seasoning
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 tbsp grated parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the Solo Stove Pi Pizza Oven to 600 degrees.
  • Brush your store-bought crust all over with olive oil.
  • Spread marinara sauce on top of crust. You will not need the whole jar of it, just enough to cover the pizza crust.
  • Sprinkle the cheese on top of the sauce and add in pepperoni.
  • Sprinkle with more cheese on top of the pepperoni, if desired, and top with pizza seasoning and red pepper flakes.
  • Bake in wood fired pi pizza oven for 3-5 minutes. Ours took about 3 minutes total.
  • Remove from pizza oven, sprinkle with grated parmesan, slice and serve!

So Is the Pi Pizza Oven Worth It?

In my opinion, yes, the Solo Stove Pi Pizza Oven is definitely worth it. Especially if you love the taste of wood fired pizzas. And now, you can enjoy them from the comfort of your own home and not have to go out!

Finished Campfire Pizza on Table

This would make an incredible Christmas gift, birthday gift, or special occasion gift for someone you love. And, it makes for great date nights at home! Just make your favorite pizza together and enjoy it!

POV: You survived your first full week back at wor POV: You survived your first full week back at work after endometriosis excision surgery… and this is what recovery really looks like. 😂

POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you rem POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you remember you’re funding your cat’s luxury lifestyle. 😹

Any other cat parents feel like they’re just employees funding their pets’ dreams? 🐱💸 #stayathomecat #stayathomecatmom #catmom #catmomproblems #catmomprobs

Tell me I’m not the only one who reads the side effects before taking a new prescription! 👇 #sideeffects #medicationsideeffects #chronicallyill #chronicillnesslife #chronicillnessmemes

Do you decorate with patriotic decor all summer, or do you switch things up after the Fourth of July? #vintageamericana #vintagepatriotic #americanadecor #americana #patrioticdecor
POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month t POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month turned me into a full-time homebody 🤣

Have you ever had a random night out come at exactly the right time? #johncrist #johncristcomedy #comedyshow #datenightideas #asheville

Meanwhile, his shiny new truck is sitting safe and spotless in the garage where not a single speck of dirt or potting soil can touch it 😂🚙
