Some updates are harder to share than others. ❤️ Some updates are harder to share than others. ❤️

I’ve gone back and forth about posting this because I never want this page to become all about my health. I love sharing recipes, DIYs, home projects, gardening, and all the things that bring me joy. But I also want this space to be real, and right now, this is part of my reality.

I share more in the carousel, but after meeting with my primary care provider last week, I’ll now be having MRIs of both my brain and my spine/back to hopefully get closer to some answers. While Chiari malformation is still a possibility, my doctor also wants to rule out other neurological conditions, like Multiple Sclerosis. Hearing that was incredibly overwhelming, and if I’m being honest, this past week has been one of the hardest mentally.

The waiting is exhausting. Waiting for appointments, waiting for tests, waiting for results… it feels like my life has been on pause while I wait to find out what’s causing all of these symptoms.

I also wanted to remind everyone that social media is often a highlight reel. Most of the content you see from me was planned and scheduled on days when I felt well enough to create. What you don’t see are the tears, the fear, the doctor’s appointments, the nights spent worrying, or the mental toll that comes with living in the unknown.

If there’s one thing I hope you take away from this post, it’s this: please be kind. You never truly know what someone is carrying behind the scenes. Invisible illnesses are just that- invisible.

And if you’re walking through your own health journey right now, I want you to know you’re not alone. This community has been such a source of comfort for me, and I’m so thankful for every message, prayer, and encouraging word you’ve sent my way. They truly mean more than you know. ❤️

If you pray, I’d really appreciate your prayers as I move through this next round of testing. I’m holding onto hope that we’ll finally get some answers. 🤍

Y’all… I need some advice. 😅 Has anyone ever had t Y’all… I need some advice. 😅 Has anyone ever had their pinky toenail almost completely fall off for absolutely no reason?

Mine is literally hanging on by one tiny corner (like 90% detached 🤢), and I can’t decide if I should just pull it off or leave it alone. The problem is it hurts every time I put on socks or shoes because it keeps catching and tugging. 😩

This actually happened to me years ago after wearing cowboy booties in Nashville that rubbed my pinky toes raw, and I ended up losing both pinky toenails. They eventually grew back completely normal, so I’m so confused why it’s happening again.

I haven’t stubbed my toe, I haven’t had a pedicure in over 6 weeks, and I’ve mostly been living in sandals all summer with my usual tennis shoes. So what in the world would make a toenail suddenly start falling off? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Should I just go ahead and pull it off since it’s barely attached, or leave it alone and let it come off on its own? Tell me what you would do because I’m officially accepting all the toenail advice I can get. 😂

And at this point, I guess my body has decided to rebel from the top of my head all the way down to my toenails. 🫠🤣 #toes #toenails #pinkytoe #pinkytoes #toenail

Living with an invisible illness can feel incredibly isolating, but having a supportive spouse has made all the difference in my journey. Through countless doctor appointments, unanswered questions, difficult days, and moments when I’ve felt like giving up, my husband has been my biggest advocate, my safe place, and my constant source of strength.

I know not everyone has that kind of support, and my heart truly goes out to anyone navigating chronic illness on their own. No one should have to carry that weight by themselves.

Anyone else have this problem when you’re laying o Anyone else have this problem when you’re laying out by the pool or at the beach trying to read a good book? 😅

No matter what style, brand, or pair of sunglasses I buy, they ALWAYS slide down my nose the second I lay on my stomach. 🤦‍♀️ I’ve tried expensive ones, cheap ones, trendy ones—you name it. Same result every time!

At this point I’m convinced I either have a weirdly shaped face or gravity just has a personal vendetta against me. 😂

It’s honestly one of my biggest pool day pet peeves because I can never stay comfortable long enough to tan my back. So while the front of me is getting plenty of sunshine, the back is staying pale because I’m constantly giving up and rolling back over. ☀️🤣

Please tell me I’m not the only one! Do your sunglasses slide down your nose too, or have you found a magical pair that actually stays put? 👇😎

Copycat OG Starbucks Pumpkin Scones

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

I’ve always loved the Starbucks pumpkin scones that they release this time of the year. They go hand in hand with a nice pumpkin spice latte! But they are kinda pricey and if you want to save some money and make a bunch more at home, then this post is for you. I have made these Copycat OG Starbucks Pumpkin Scones year after year and they do not disappoint.

I call them the originals because when they first came out, they were cut in little triangles like this. But for some reason, here lately at Starbucks they have changed them into round pumpkin scones.

And in my opinion, they don’t taste as good as the original. I could be crazy and it could be the exact same recipe just cut into a different shape. But hey, I am always on board with baking a delicious pumpkin recipe at home anyway!

First Steps

I originally got this recipe from Cooking Classy. And I kept it all the same pretty much but tweaked a few ingredients. Which I will discuss below.

But basically the first thing you need to do is pulse all the dry ingredients together using a food processor. Now, I don’t have a food processor myself, but I do have a Ninja Blender.

And it does have the “pulse” option on there. So I normally just use that when recipes call for a food processor and it works out just fine. If you don’t have either option, no worries!

Just mixing all this by hand will do just fine as well. You could also just use a pastry blender to cut the cold butter into the mixture as well.

First steps for pumpkin scones
I love my Ninja Blender! I have linked a similar one below for you as well if you are wanting one too. They can do so many things!

Making the Copycat Starbucks Pumpkin Scones

After you have pulsed your dry ingredients with the butter, pour it all into a mixing bowl with a well in the center. Then, mix up all the wet ingredients together and pour into the well of the dry ingredients.

You then want to use a wooden spoon to incorporate the mixture. Then, be sure to use a very well floured surface to knead the scones mixture together. You want it to be well floured because this mixture is very sticky!

Mixing wet ingredients into dry ingredients
Mixing ingredients

After it is all incorporated, flatten it out into an 8 inch round. And again, using a very well floured knife, cut into 8 equal pieces.

As you will notice, mine aren’t very equal, but hey, it works! Transfer them to a baking dish lined with parchment paper so it doesn’t stick. Brush the tops of them with half and half and let them bake for about 15 minutes.

Icing the Pumpkin Scones

Once the scones are done baking, let the cool to room temperature. The original recipe states to not let them cool for more than 10 minutes before icing.

But I find that the icing just runs down the scone and doesn’t stick if the scone is too hot. So I like to let them cool a little longer. I also like to add in more powdered sugar for the glaze than what the original recipe called for too.

I like them to have a lot of icing so I figure, the more the merrier right?! After adding the glaze, again let them sit to room temperature before adding in the pumpkin glaze on top.

Icing the Pumpkin Scones
Here they are after the first glaze is on!

Make the Pumpkin Glaze

The final step for these copycat Starbucks Pumpkin Scones is to make the pumpkin glaze to drizzle on top. Again, I differed from the original recipe here and added in some ground cloves too.

I like my scones to be extra spicy and warm so adding a little more cloves to it just does that! This glaze should be a little thinner than the first, that way you can just drizzle it on top with minimal effort.

And once that glaze is set, that’s it!

Well, what do you think of these copycat Starbucks Pumpkin Scones?! Have you ever had them or made them yourself before? I know scones aren’t for everyone since they can sometimes be on the dry side, but these really do go wonderfully well with a nice cup of coffee.

It’s like the perfect breakfast dessert in my opinion! Let me know if you make these too and how they turned out for you!

Ingredients

For the Pumpkin Scones:

  • 2 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 3 tbsp white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup cold, unsalted butter diced
  • 1/2 cup pumpkin puree chilled
  • 3 1/2 tbsp buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp half and half

For the Glaze:

  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp half and half

For the Pumpkin Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin puree
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/8 tsp ground cloves
  • 1 1/2 tbsp half and half

Instructions

For the Pumpkin Scones:

  • Preheat oven to 425.
  • In a food processor, pulse together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. You can also mix this by hand if you don't have a food processor, or pulse it all in your Ninja blender like I do!
  • Then, add in the cold, diced unsalted butter and pulse again until mixed together.
  • Pour mixture into a large mixing bowl and create a well in the center of it.
  • In another mixing bowl, mix together the chilled pumpkin, honey, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir using a wooden spoon to incorporate.
  • Then, knead mixture on a well floured surface a few times until it all comes together.
  • Pat dough into a 8-inch round.
  • Using a well floured knife, cut round into 8 equal pieces.
  • Place scones on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush tops with the 1 tbsp of half and half.
  • Place in preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  • Let scones cool to room temperature after baking and before applying the glaze.

For the Glaze:

  • Whisk together the powdered sugar and half and half in a large bowl. Make sure mixture is more on the thick side rather than the thinner side.
  • Spoon the glaze onto the pumpkin scones and again let it come to room temperature.

For the Pumpkin Glaze:

  • Mix together the powdered sugar, pumpkin puree, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, ground cloves, and half and half (I used the same bowl as the previous glaze to save a dish).
  • Make sure this glaze is slightly more runnier than the first.
  • Using a spoon, slightly go back and forth on top of scones to create a lined pattern of the pumpkin glaze on top of the regular glaze.
  • Let set to room temperature again and then enjoy it!

Before I can even think about swimsuits and cute o Before I can even think about swimsuits and cute outfits, I have to make sure every medication, supplement, electrolyte packet, and “just in case” item makes it into my bag. Then I mentally go through my checklist about 50 times before we leave because forgetting one thing could completely change the trip.

Traveling with a chronic illness definitely takes a little more planning, but it’s worth it to make the memories. 💛

Now if only I could get a vacation from all the vacation packing. 😂

Anyone else with a chronic illness feel like packing is the most stressful part of traveling? ✈️💊 Let me know I’m not alone!

Styling a decorative tray for fall doesn’t have to Styling a decorative tray for fall doesn’t have to be complicated. 🍂🕯️

One of my favorite fall decorating tips is to simply shop my own home first! I gather a few cozy pieces I already own, add a small pumpkin or seasonal accent, and always finish the look with one (or two 😉) Antique Candle Co. candles. Nothing makes a home feel more like cozy fall decor than the warm glow of candlelight and the scent of crisp autumn mornings.

If you’ve been looking for easy fall tray styling ideas or simple ways to make your home feel warm and inviting, this is such an effortless place to start. You don’t have to spend a fortune to create a beautiful, cozy space.

🍁 Antique Candle Co.‘s new fall candle testers are available now, so it’s the perfect way to discover your favorite fall scents before committing to a full-size candle!

Comment “CANDLES” below and I’ll send you the link! 🧡 And you better hurry, you only have until July 28th to get these fall candle testers ordered and then they are gone forever!

Save this post for your fall decorating inspiration and tag a friend who’s already counting down the days until cozy season! 🍂

My husband has been really into golf lately, which apparently means it’s now his mission to teach me how to play. The only problem? I’m not totally convinced he’s qualified for the job. 🤣

What do y’all think… should I trust his golf lessons or find a new coach? 😂

Then again, I probably shouldn’t be talking because I’m terrible at mini golf too. If I can’t even survive a game of putt-putt, I don’t know what chance I have on a real golf course. 😅

Tell me… is your spouse always trying to teach you their favorite hobby too, or is it just mine? ⛳️😂

Although… when you already deal with chronic GI issues every day, would you even notice the difference? 🤣

Please tell me I’m not the only one! I’m only 33, but lately I cannot sleep to save my life. Between tossing, turning, and staring at the ceiling, my Kindle and a cup of tea have basically become my nightly routine.

I’ve also read that women with endometriosis may experience symptoms associated with perimenopause earlier than average, and honestly… as if endometriosis hasn’t put us through enough already. 😅

At this point, I’m about ready to start a Late Night Book Club for all the insomnia and perimenopause girlies because apparently none of us are sleeping anyway. 📚☕️😂

One thing people don’t talk about enough is how ch One thing people don’t talk about enough is how chronic illness doesn’t just affect the person who’s diagnosed, it changes the lives of the people who love them, too. ❤️

To every caregiver, spouse, partner, family member, or friend who continues to show up with patience, compassion, and love; you matter more than you know. Thank you for making the hard days a little easier. 🤍

If you’re living with a chronic illness, tag someone who’s been there for you, or send this to the person who’s helped carry you through your hardest days. They deserve to know how much they’re appreciated.

Just pretending it’s a crisp, cool fall day outsid Just pretending it’s a crisp, cool fall day outside with the breeze slightly blowing right now instead of it being 100 degrees outside! 🤣

But seriously though, one sip and you’ll see why this cozy fall drink is a fan favorite. Made with warm apple cider, cinnamon, caramel, and whipped cream, it tastes like autumn in a cup, and the best part? There’s no coffee, so it’s perfect for kids and anyone who isn’t a coffee drinker!
