Hey @mutualofomaha I genuinely want to know how you think I can safely work as a dental hygienist with extremely noticeable hand tremors and shaking happening all the time.

How can my short-term disability claim be denied while saying I’m still capable of doing a job that requires me to use extremely sharp dental instruments underneath people’s gums every single day?

If I were your dental hygienist, would you feel comfortable trusting me to clean YOUR teeth while my hands are shaking like this? Because I don’t.

I’m not trying to get out of working. I’m trying to protect my patients and myself while I figure out what is happening to my body.

I’ve spent over 10 years working as a dental hygienist, and right now I physically struggle to hold my instruments and perform my job safely because of these tremors. I still don’t have answers or a diagnosis, and I’ve been waiting weeks for a brain MRI to hopefully help determine what’s going on.

But in the meantime, I’m expected to just go to work and continue using sharp instruments in people’s mouths like nothing is wrong?

This is so incredibly frustrating. I want to work. I WANT to be able to work. But I also want to be able to do my job safely and responsibly.

This is what happens when the healthcare system and disability insurance system fail people who are genuinely struggling to work.

If you’ve ever dealt with a denied short-term disability claim, disability insurance, chronic illness, unexplained symptoms, tremors, or being told you’re “fine” when you know something is wrong, I’d love to hear your experience. ❤️

I just wish I could sleep as peacefully as Toby does for ONE night. Must be nice to have a life where your only responsibilities are deciding when it’s time for your next nap or when you’d like a little snack. 😴🐾

What a life that must be… I’m sure it’s absolutely EXHAUSTING. 🤣

And naturally, he has to get his beauty rest after stepping directly on my face at 3 AM to wake me up. Because apparently my sleep schedule is interfering with his. 😂

Cat life really is something else. 😹🐈‍⬛

I know it feels a little early to be thinking about fall decor, but trust me on this one! These realistic faux mums are one of my favorite outdoor fall decorating finds, and they always disappear fast.

Last year I finally swapped my real mums for faux mums, and I haven’t looked back! 🤎 I could never figure out how to keep real mums alive. Too much water? Not enough? Either way, mine never seemed to last more than a few weeks. 😅

Now I can decorate my front porch for fall with beautiful artificial mums that look incredibly real, save money in the long run, and I get to reuse them every single autumn. It’s honestly one of the best fall decor investments I’ve made!

I found these super cute amber pumpkin jars and added battery-operated tea lights inside, and y’all, I’m OBSESSED with the cozy glow! 🧡 They’re the perfect easy fall decor idea for adding that warm, moody amber glow to your home.

Apparently, he has 4K vision for golf and absolutely ZERO vision for anything I ask him to find. 😂
