I almost didn’t post this. After sharing all of ou I almost didn’t post this. After sharing all of our beach vacation content last week, it probably looked like we had the perfect trip. Smiles, sunsets, seafood, beach days, and we truly did make some amazing memories.
But social media rarely shows everything. What you didn’t see was my heart pounding every time I carried my beach bag down to the sand. Feeling so dizzy and nauseous that I had to run back to the condo just to throw up. Watching my heart rate skyrocket and my Apple Watch constantly sending high heart rate notifications, even while I was just sitting at dinner or relaxing on the couch. Imagine how high it gets when I’m actually doing something. You didn’t see my hands shaking so badly that putting on my makeup became a challenge.
Or the hours spent on the phone with doctors, insurance companies, and specialists trying to get referrals approved, MRIs scheduled, and answers that still haven’t come. After weeks of waiting, I finally got my brain, spine, and lower back MRIs scheduled, but they’re not until August 18. So now comes even more waiting and hoping for answers. 🙃
You didn’t see me checking my suitcase over and over, terrified I’d forget an important medication or something I might need while we were away.
And when we finally made it home? I ended up with what seemed like an allergic reaction, my right eye swelled shut, burned, and watered nonstop, my nose couldn’t decide if it wanted to be stuffed up or run like a faucet, and I topped it all off with a pounding migraine. This is the reality of living with an invisible illness.
You learn how to smile through the symptoms. You push through when you can. You rest when you have to. And you become really good at making things look “normal” even when your body is fighting you every step of the way. So if you’ve ever looked at someone’s vacation photos and thought they must have it all together, this is your reminder that you never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.
And to my sweet hubby, thank you for giving me grace, slowing down when I need to, carrying the things I can’t, and reminding me that making memories together is what matters most ♥️

How to Make a Pink Velvet Latte

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

If you’re looking for some delicious Valentine’s Day coffee recipes this year, then I have you covered! You’re going to love this Pink Velvet Latte I came up with for the occasion! If you’re a coffee lover like myself, you will definitely enjoy this delicious drink!

Also, the best part is you can easily customize this recipe to make all kinds of delicious lattes with it too. It all depends on what flavor of simple syrup you use to sweeten it. I’m calling this a Pink Velvet Latte because I used raspberry syrup, but you could easily use black cherry syrup, strawberry syrup, or vanilla syrup instead. Whatever floats your boat!

And with just a few simple ingredients, you too can create this fun coffee drink that is perfect for a Valentine’s Day celebration! Keep on reading for my full recipe!

Whipped Cream

Valentine’s Day Sprinkles

Fresh Raspberries, optional

Chocolate Shavings, optional

Dark Chocolate Sauce, optional

Ingredients Needed to Make Pink Velvet Latte

What You Need to Make a Latte

So if you’ve never made a latte at home before, you definitely want an espresso machine to do this. I always use my Nespresso Vertuo Machine and I am obsessed with it. I got it right before Christmas time and have used it to make so many different creations! If you’re looking for more coffee cocktails, then check out my peppermint mocha recipe I shared a few months ago too!

You could also make this sweet coffee drink with a regular brewed coffee, although it won’t be as strong. Using an espresso maker is the best way to get a copycat version of your favorite drink from your local Starbucks at home. Plus, in the long run, it will save you the additional cost of visiting Starbucks every time you want an espresso drink.

Also, you definitely need some flavored coffee syrups to make a latte with too. I love using Jordan’s Skinny Syrups as they are 0 calories and 0 sugar too. That’s another reason why I prefer to make a latte at home more. I have better control on the calorie count and sugar content, versus going in a Starbucks and ordering one there.

So I definitely keep a stockpile of different flavors of syrups near my coffee bar at all times. That way, when the mood strikes me, I can easily make a latte or a classic cappuccino at home easily!

How to Make a Latte

With my Nespresso machine, it came with a milk frother, which has been very helpful to make these coffee drinks. If you don’t have one, you can easily order one of Amazon. Trust me, it is worth it because you will definitely use it all the time!

To make the pink velvet latte, simply pour a cup of milk into the frother. Then, add a few pumps of raspberry syrup. Or a few tablespoons of strawberry syrup, whichever flavor your taste buds prefer more. Now it’s time to froth up the milk mixture!

Frothing the Milk Mixture

While the milk is frothing, brew your espresso in a large mug or tall glass. Add in the frothed, steamed milk once the espresso shot is done brewing. You could also add in some red food coloring to the milk mixture if you want it to have more of a pink look to it. It already had a slight pink look with just the syrup alone. So I didn’t add any extra to it.

Brewing the Shot of Espresso

Now, I’m not too good at doing latte art, so I just pour the whole mixture on top of the espresso without much thought. One of the easy ways to make it look pretty, is to simply add some whipped cream on top! The finishing touch is adding in some Valentine’s Day sprinkles on top of the whipped cream too!

Other Finishing Touches

If you wanted to do something different than sprinkles, you totally could. You could add in some tablespoons of chocolate syrup and drizzle that on top with some chocolate shavings and chocolate chips if you wanted more of a chocolate lovers vibe. Or some mocha drizzle on top would be divine too! And instead of sprinkles, you could always top with maraschino cherries or fresh raspberries too.

Pink Velvet Latte

Also, if you like your pink velvet latte sweeter, you could always add in some extra sugar or brown sugar to it too. I am not a big fan of super sweet coffee drinks so just the syrup and milk were the perfect touch to sweeten my coffee.

Pink Velvet Latte By Coffee Bar

Enjoy Your Latte

Well I hope you enjoyed this pink velvet latte recipe! As you can see, it is such an easy recipe and a great drink to make for a special occasion such as Valentine’s Day. Y’all know I am always looking for easy coffee drink recipes, no matter what season it is!

Homemade Latte

And I will definitely be making this pink velvet latte year round because I am obsessed with anything raspberry flavored! And I always like to elevate a plain, morning cup of coffee into something a little more special too. Especially for Valentine’s Day! So I hope you love this special coffee drink just as much as I do and I also hope you all have a very happy Valentine’s Day my friends!

If you’re looking for the best restaurants in Myrt If you’re looking for the best restaurants in Myrtle Beach (aka Dirty Myrtle 🤣🌴), I’ve got you covered! One thing you absolutely have to do while you’re here is eat all the fresh seafood… and yes, I may or may not have ordered Chilean sea bass THREE times this week because it was just that good. 😂🐟

Our #1 favorite restaurant in North Myrtle Beach is @theoysterrock. We loved it so much we went back twice during this trip! If you’re craving fresh seafood, amazing waterfront views, and one of the best meals at the beach, this place is a must.

For a more casual beachfront dinner, @bummzbeachcafe is another one of our go-to spots. Great food, ocean views, and the perfect laid-back beach vibes.

Is anyone else’s robot vacuum constantly getting l Is anyone else’s robot vacuum constantly getting lost or dying in the most random places? 😂 Mine literally only had to move TWO more feet to reach its charging dock, but instead it just gave up. Like… buddy, you were so close! 🤣

I also find it trapped under beds, cabinets, and furniture more often than I find it actually cleaning the house. At this point, I spend more time searching for my robot vacuum than I would if I just grabbed the regular vacuum myself. 😂

I know robot vacuums are supposed to make cleaning easier, but sometimes they create their own little adventures instead. Please tell me I’m not the only one! Does your robot vacuum have a mind of its own too, or is mine just extra dramatic? 🤣
