I don’t know about y’all, but I love a good pasta salad recipe during the summer. It’s the ultimate side dish for a cookout in my opinion. And this Publix feta pasta salad recipe will not disappoint!
With tender pasta, fresh basil, cherry tomatoes, and feta cheese, you just can’t go wrong with that combo! Also, the homemade dressing is the perfect finishing touch.
And the good news is that this recipe makes plenty, so you will have leftovers, or it will definitely feed a crowd too! I love how you can customize a pasta salad recipe and make it your own as well.
For example, a lot of pasta salads call for black olives and I am just not a fan of those. So usually, I will just omit them from the recipe and it turns out just fine.
If there’s an ingredient you’re not feeling in this recipe below, feel free to do the same. Or switch it out for something else even.
But of course, if you just buy a pre-made pasta salad from Publix, you can’t do that. So that’s why I love creating a copycat recipe at home instead.
That way, you can customize it exactly to your liking! Trust me, you’re going to want to try this yummy and easy recipe for your next summer cookout!

Ingredients Needed For Publix Pasta Salad Recipe:
- 8 oz rotini pasta, cooked and drained (you could also use bow ties if you prefer too)
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup crisp cucumbers, diced
- 1 cup red bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup Kalamata olives, pitted and halved (like I said above, I omitted these from the recipe since I’m not a huge olive fan)
- 3/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled (you could use goat cheese too if you prefer, but I love a good feta recipe instead)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped (really any of your favorite fresh herbs will do just fine!)
For The Dressing:
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 3 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder or 1 small clove garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste

How To Make Pasta Salad:
Y’all aren’t going to believe how easy and simple this pasta salad is to make. First, just cook and drain your pasta according to the package’s directions.
When done cooking, give it a rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. And while your pasta is cooking, you can chop up all the veggies and set them aside.

In a large bowl, mix together the cooled pasta and all the chopped veggies. Then, make the dressing. In a smaller bowl, whisk together extra virgin olive oil and red wine vinegar to create a smooth dressing base.
Then, add in the oregano, garlic powder (or minced garlic), and season with salt and pepper to your liking. I actually love to use Sergio’s Seasoning from Golden Steer.

You may remember, we always use it on our filet mignons when cooking, but this seasoning is so versatile and is like a gourmet mix of salt and pepper so it goes with everything!
Drizzle the finished dressing over the pasta and make sure all the veggies are well coated with the dressing. Then, gently mix in the feta cheese, and fresh basil and parsley.
Cover and chill in the fridge at least 30 minutes before serving. When ready to serve, you can also squeeze some fresh lemon juice on top if desired as well!
