We have recently made several weekend trips back and forth to Charlotte, North Carolina this past year. So I thought it was about high time to share with you all the things to do in Charlotte.
And that way, if you’re planning a little getaway too, maybe you can take some of these ideas with you. Uptown Charlotte is a great place full of so many things to do! I will be sharing all the things we’ve done over the past few trips we have taken there.
I actually hadn’t spent much time in Charlotte before this past year. And now, it is one of my favorite cities to visit. The whole commercial saying of “Charlotte’s Got A Lot” is very true. There is something for everyone here, no matter what you like to do.
And it’s the perfect spot for a quick weekend trip too. Especially for us, since we can get there in just a couple of hours from home! So keep on reading and see all the fun things the Queen City has to offer here!

Charlotte Concerts
I think one of our very top things to do in Charlotte is attend concerts! We have been to several concerts there before and they have always been a hit. And there are several different venues for concerts as well.
Bank of America Stadium
I think my favorite ones that we have been to were at the Bank of America Stadium. Which is of course where the Carolina Panthers play too. We saw Morgan Wallen there last October and had the best time.

And fun fact, this concert was supposed to happen in June, but got postponed. And at the time I was so bummed. But, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise because when it was rescheduled was right after Hurricane Helene hit Asheville so hard.

So at our house, we had no running water and power for over 10 days. So honestly, I was probably just as excited to take a hotel shower as I was to see Morgan Wallen!

And then speaking of Helene, we went to the Concert For Carolina which was a benefit concert to help all the victims of Helene. And that was another incredible show.

With a lineup full of huge artist such as my favorite, Eric Church, Luke Combs, Keith Urban, Chase Rice, and many more! That was probably one of my favorite live shows I have ever been to.

PNC Music Pavilion
We also saw Cody Johnson at the PNC Music Pavilion this year as well. I will say though, we preferred going to the Bank of America Stadium for concerts in Charlotte.
Just because we like to rent a hotel room within walking distance to the venue and not have to worry about parking. But, the PNC Music Pavilion is too far away so you have to drive.

And the traffic there is insane. Plus, the parking is kind of crazy too. So if given the option, I would definitely prefer a venue closer to Uptown Charlotte.
But regardless of where, the live music scene here is incredible! Be sure to check out the events calendar when you are planning a trip, you never know who might be in town.
There were several other artists preforming the weekends we were there too so there are plenty of live entertainment options to choose from.
Charlotte Comedy Shows
Another fun thing we did while in Charlotte was attend a comedy show by one of my very favorite comedians as well. We saw John Crist at Ovens Auditorium and it was such a fun show.

My husband and I are big comedy fans and thankfully a lot of comedians we like come to Asheville so we are able to attend a lot without going out of town.
But, it just so happened that the same weekend we were there for the Cody Johnson concert, John Crist was performing the next day!

So obviously we had to attend both and get the most out of our Charlotte trip! We even got to meet him after the show which was so fun!
We’ve also seen Dusty Slay before at the Knight Theatre in Charlotte too which was another fun show as well!

Antique Shopping At The Depot
Another one of my favorite things to do in Charlotte is visit The Depot. If you know me, then you know I am a huge antique lover.

So The Depot in Gibson Mill (which is technically right outside of Charlotte) is absolutely heaven to me. It’s definitely one of the best things to do around here in my opinion!

There are so many booths and so much vintage goodness. We were actually kind of rushed going through the whole thing because we went before the Cody Johnson concert.

So I would love to go back and take my time, but you’ve got to check it out the next time you go! Plus, there is a food hall there too full of yummy options as well.

So if you’re experiencing some rainy days while you’re in Charlotte, this would be a perfect place to visit since it is all indoors!

Other Things To Do
If concerts or comedy shows aren’t your thing, there are still plenty of other options in Charlotte! This city is also the home of Nascar Hall of Fame.

So if you’re a race day lover too, you would love seeing all the interactive exhibits here. You could also check out the Charlotte Motor Speedway as well.
And if you’re baseball fans, head over to the baseball fields and watch the Charlotte Knights play. We’ve seen their basketball team, Charlotte Hornets, play before too.
We also went to play Topgolf one day while we were there too. Surprisingly Asheville does not have a Topgolf, so my hubby always likes to go to ones out of town.

He is a huge golfer and kicks my butt every time we go, but it’s a lot of fun! And I prefer Topgolf to mini golf. Even though I am terrible at both!

Also, speaking of golf, we attended the PGA Championship Tour this summer in Charlotte as well. It was located at the Quail Hallow Club and my hubby was in heaven seeing his favorite golfers do their thing! It was a pretty cool experience I have to say too!

The Billy Graham Library is also located here and would be a very cool spot to check out if you love historic sites like that too. If you’re more of an outdoor enthusiast, there’s plenty for you to do too!
Charlotte is home to the U.S National Whitewater Center and Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. So if you love miles of trail to walk upon and beautiful rose gardens and botanical gardens, this would be for you!
They also have plenty of museums to choose from such as the Levine Museum of the New South, Bechtler museum of modern art, Mint Museum Uptown, and the Technology Museum too. And they all have hands-on exhibits and interactive displays as well. These are all activities that the whole family can enjoy!
Places To Eat In Charlotte
Now, for the good part. Where should you eat in Charlotte? Well, I am here to tell you that the food scene in Charlotte is amazing as well.
I shared more in detail about it on my other post, best date night restaurants in Charlotte. But, I will list a few things here in case you just want a few quick options!
There are so many different things to choose from, but I’ll be sharing all of the places we went and loved below.
One of our first stops there was to Merchant & Trade. And talk about incredible rooftop views and delicious food! You definitely should check this place out at your next Charlotte stop!

Another cool rooftop dinner place is Fahrenheit. They have such an amazing atmosphere here and unique and yummy food as well.

And you probably know of this place, Church and Union, from all my Charleston posts.
But, Charlotte has their own too and it’s just as good as Charleston. We went after the Cody Johnson concert and we were literally the only ones there which was so cool!

Before going to the John Crist show, we ate at Dean’s Italian Steakhouse and this place is perfect for a fancy date night!

Another super fancy date night option would be STK. This place was so delicious, but also very pricey too. So it’s a great splurge if you’re celebrating an anniversary or anything special like that.

For brunch, we hit up The Asbury which is located inside a beautiful boutique hotel called the Dunhill downtown. It’s a small spot, but so cute, and the food was so yummy too. Especially their banana bread that comes in a piping hot skillet!

Enjoy Your Trip to Charlotte!
