I have been making this recipe for years now and I absolutely love it. Anytime I have a couple of overripe bananas, I start to make these easy, 4 ingredient peanut butter oatmeal cookies. Not only are they incredibly easy, but also on the more healthy side when it comes to cookies!
So when I am trying to eat better, but still have a sweet craving, these are my go-to. And especially since I have a sweet tooth a lot! You may think that healthy cookies aren’t that tasty, but trust me, these are delish!
Sometimes I purposely let my bananas go bad just so I can make these! But don’t tell anyone, because I am sure you will start to do the same too once you try this easy recipe out! Keep on reading for the full recipe card below and I hope you love these just as much as I do!

Ingredients Needed to Make Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies
1 cup quick oats
2 over-ripe bananas, cut into chunks
1/2 cup Lily’s Semi Sweet Baking Chips (you could also use dark chocolate chips or mini chocolate chips if you prefer! I just like the Lily’s brand because it is no extra added sugar!)
1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter (you can use creamy peanut butter, chunky peanut butter, or natural peanut butter, the choice is up to you! You could also use the PB2 powder instead of actual peanut butter to give it the peanut butter flavor it needs as well. I will link that below!)
How To Make 4 Ingredient Oatmeal Cookies
As you can see from the list above, this recipe requires pretty simple ingredients. And most I bet you already have on hand in your pantry as well. As far as cookie recipes goes, I think this one is definitely the easiest! When doesn’t love a good recipe with simple pantry ingredients?!
And all you need to do to make them is just combine all the ingredients into a large bowl of a stand mixer and combine and that’s it! I usually start by adding the 1 cup of quick-cooking oats to the bowl first (if you’re in a pinch and only have old-fashioned oats or rolled oats, you can use those instead. Although I think it makes the cookie drier, so quick oats are definitely the best if you have them!).
Then, I add in the chunks of bananas and start with a tablespoon of peanut butter. After that, I mix it altogether and see what the consistency looks like. If the batter looks a little dry, I will add in another tablespoon of peanut butter. I really just guesstimate the amount and go by how it looks.
Peanut butter lovers, you could always add a little bit more if you wanted to as well! I haven’t tried using other nut butters such as almond butter or cashew butter in this recipe before. But, I am assuming that would work just fine. The finishing touch is adding in the chocolate chips.
Baking The Cookies
To bake cookies, preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Then, grab a baking sheet and a cookie scoop. If you don’t have a cookie scoop, just use a spoon. Grab a spoonful of cookie dough and place it down on the cookie sheet. I don’t use parchment paper or anything like that to line the cookie sheet with.
My Caraway Home Baking Pans are the best and never leave my cookies stuck to them! If you haven’t tried them out before, you definitely should! Plus, you can use my coupon code MORNINGS_ON_MACEDONIA10 to get 10% off anything from them as well!
After placing the cookie dough balls on the sheet you can lightly press down on them to make them more of a cookie shape. These cookies don’t spread or anything when baking either so you can place them relatively close together too!
Bake the cookies for 15 minutes in the preheated oven. And let cool on a wire rack before eating.
Enjoy Your Cookies!
Whether you’re looking for a healthy snack or a little sweet treat, this is a great recipe for you to try. It’s full of wholesome ingredients and provides a chewier texture rather than a regular cookie recipe.
As you can see above these flourless peanut butter oatmeal cookies are literally so easy and simple to make! And you can always double the recipe to make more too if you wanted. If you have leftovers, you can store them in a freezer bag or an airtight container at room temperature. I usually just store mine in a freezer bag because I don’t have too many leftovers honestly!
Let me know if you try out these Easy 4 Ingredient Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies and what you think about them! I think these chewy cookies are perfect for any time of day and can be a great afternoon snack, breakfast, or dessert. Who doesn’t love a versatile recipe like that?!
These cookies are also very similar to my healthy pumpkin cookies as well. So if you’re looking for something like this, but with a little more pumpkin flavor, be sure to check those out instead!
