After all the money we’ve spent on raised garden beds, soil, plants, fertilizer, and supplies, this little pepper is basically worth its weight in gold! 😂 But honestly, there’s nothing more rewarding than walking outside and harvesting fresh vegetables from your own backyard garden.

And let me tell you… this pepper was DELICIOUS! 🙌 Now I’m anxiously waiting for our cucumbers, squash, and tomatoes to really start producing. There’s just something so exciting about watching a vegetable garden grow and finally getting to enjoy the fruits (and veggies!) of your labor.

Apparently, if I had actually read the product description, I would have known that. But who has time for details when you’re busy adding things to your cart? 😂

After a LOT of fluffing, shaping, and styling, though, these faux hanging ferns turned out so good! I love using artificial hanging baskets on our porch because they’re completely low-maintenance, stay green year-round, and don’t require me to climb a ladder every few days to water them. As someone who’s vertically challenged, that’s a major win. 🤣

If you’re looking for realistic faux outdoor plants, easy porch decorating ideas, or low-maintenance outdoor decor, I highly recommend giving these a try!

There’s just something special about slowing down, enjoying some good old-fashioned porch sitting, and taking in the sights and sounds of summer. Anyone else spending time outside today?

I’m especially excited that we finally got our flower beds refreshed and ready for the season! 🌸🐦 The colorful blooms have already started attracting hummingbirds, and watching them dart around the flowers from inside the house each morning has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the day.

Between the front porch decor, blooming flowers, and warm summer sunshine, home feels extra sweet right now. ❤️

Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

POV: You survived your first full week back at wor POV: You survived your first full week back at work after endometriosis excision surgery… and this is what recovery really looks like. 😂

I officially made it through my first full week back to work after a month-long surgery leave, and whew… the post-op fatigue is NO joke.

Every evening has looked pretty much the same: clock out, soak my aching body in a scorching hot bath, grab my heating pad, put on my weighted eye mask, and immediately take a cat nap before I can even think about making dinner or doing anything around the house. 😴

I knew recovering from endometriosis excision surgery would take time, but I didn’t expect the exhaustion to hit this hard after returning to work. My body is definitely reminding me that healing isn’t always a straight line.

Right now, this little recovery routine is getting me through:
💛 Hot bath
💛 Heating pad on full blast
💛 Weighted eye mask (shoutout to @nodpodofficial)
💛 Emergency evening nap

Thankfully, it’s finally the weekend, and I can focus on resting and recharging before doing it all over again next week.

If you’ve had endometriosis excision surgery, how long did the fatigue last for you after returning to work? Please tell me this part doesn’t last forever! 😂👇

Whenever I have a bad day at work, I remind myself that I need that paycheck so my cats can stay home all day, nap in peace, eat snacks, and live their best spoiled-cat lives. 😂

This first week back at work has been ROUGH, y’all. I miss being home with my fur babies more than anything. Honestly, I think my true calling in life is being a stay-at-home cat mom. 🐾

But unfortunately, someone has to pay for the treats, toys, fancy food, and all the other necessities required to maintain this luxury cat lifestyle. And that someone is me. 😅

The funniest part? I don’t even think little Miss Riley misses me. As long as the food bowl stays full and the treats keep coming, she’s perfectly content living her best life while I’m out here working my butt off. 🤣

Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Goo Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Google every possible side effect before starting a new medication? Because I swear if there’s a rare reaction listed, somehow I’m the lucky winner. 🤣

Being chronically ill means I’ve tried my fair share of medications over the years, and my body always seems to have a mind of its own. If a medicine is supposed to make people sleepy, I’ll be wide awake all night. If there’s a tiny chance of an adverse reaction, somehow I’m usually that tiny percentage. 😅

So starting a new medication is always a little nerve-wracking for me. Part of me is hopeful it’ll finally provide some relief, and the other part is preparing for whatever random side effect my body decides to throw my way.

Here’s hoping this one actually helps my symptoms without adding a whole new list of problems. 🤞😂

There’s just something about decorating with old red, white, and blue treasures that makes a home feel extra cozy for summer. I love styling my dining room shelves with vintage Americana pieces, antique finds, and patriotic decor that can stay up from Memorial Day all the way through the Fourth of July and beyond!

I know some people pack away their patriotic decorations after July 4th, but I love leaving my summer patriotic decor out all season long. It just feels timeless to me!

Honestly, staying home healing after surgery has taught me one thing… I never want to leave my house again 😂 Being cozy at home with my cats, resting, binge watching shows, and avoiding the outside world has been absolutely glorious. I truly understand the “stay at home cat mom” lifestyle now lol.

At this point, I have everything I need right here at home. Peace, comfy clothes, snacks, my pets, and zero social obligations 🤣 Meanwhile, every time I actually leave the house, I come back completely exhausted.

So the fact that I have to go back to work today after a month of recovery is honestly going to be SUCH a rough adjustment 😅 I’m not mentally prepared to rejoin society yet lol. Anyone else secretly love being home way too much?!

Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of going back to work while still recovering from surgery. Between the physical healing and the emotional side of post-surgery recovery, I’ve been feeling pretty down lately. So this comedy date night ended up being exactly what I needed.

We bought tickets to see @johnbcrist months ago, long before I had any idea I’d be spending a month on surgery leave. Turns out the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. This was our third time seeing him live, and he absolutely delivered. I laughed so hard that for a couple of hours, I completely forgot about returning to work, ongoing recovery, and all the stress waiting for me next week. 🤣

Before the show, we had dinner at @redgingerasianbistro and finished the night with dessert at @timesbarandcoffee which made the whole evening even better. Good food, lots of laughs, and quality time with my husband was exactly the distraction I needed.

Sometimes healing isn’t just about physical recovery. Sometimes it’s about finding little moments that remind you how good it feels to laugh again. ❤️

Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I have to chop onions because my eyes tear up so bad… 🤣

Ever since I had LASIK surgery a few years ago, chopping onions has been brutal on my eyes. I’m talking instant tears the second I start cutting them 😂 Apparently my eyes became extra sensitive afterward, and honestly it’s been a struggle ever since.

But then I heard about the “wear sunglasses while chopping onions” hack and y’all… why does it actually work?! 😅 So now anytime my hubby isn’t home to take over onion duty, you can catch me in the kitchen wearing sunglasses indoors looking ridiculous but tear-free 😎

If you’ve ever wondered how to stop crying while cutting onions, consider this your sign to try the sunglasses trick! It may look silly, but it seriously helps block those onion fumes from hitting your eyes 👏

Now I need to know… does anyone else have weird kitchen hacks like this? 😂 #kitchenhacks #cookinghacks #onionhack #cookinghack #onions

My Favorite Spring Candles

Y’all know my love for candles is strong. And I have shared in the past my favorite Fall and Christmas candles. So now I thought it would be fun to share all my favorite candles for spring.

You also know if you have been around here enough, that I am in love with Antique Candle Co! Their candles are seriously the best and I love being able to support a wonderful small business like themselves.

I figured I would share with you all some of my all time favorites in case you are looking for some wonderful spring scents for your home too!

My Favorite Spring Candles

This post contains affiliate links. Click here to read my disclosure policy.

Grapefruit

Grapefruit is one of their new spring candles for 2021. They surprised us all and came out with a total of three NEW scents this year.

This includes this one, lemon eucalyptus, and peach apricot. I was so excited to hear that they released so many scents this year because they normally only do one new scent per season!

Spring Candle on Tray
I love styling these candles on trays if you can’t tell!

Grapefruit is a bright scent of sugared pink grapefruit with vibrant citrus zest, highlighted by floral notes of peach blossom and eucalyptus leaf.

Antique Candle Co

Lemon Eucalyptus

Lemon Eucalyptus is such a wonder spring scent as well. It has such a great clean fragrance to it and I love the subtle hint of lemon it brings to the table too.

It’s a very unique scent and I haven’t ever had a candle quite like it!

Lemon Eucalyptus Candle
Such a perfect candle for spring!

Lemon Eucalyptus is a fresh aroma of bright lemon and sweet orange, highlighted with a bouquet of eucalyptus leaves, citrus blooms, and wild mint.

Antique Candle Co

Peach Apricot

Peach Apricot was a huge surprise to me! I had no idea they were even releasing this one so I was super happy when it arrived in the mail!

This one is officially launching on April 27th and I am loving the combination of both peach and apricot together.

They already have a Georgia Peach scent too, which is awesome as well, but this one doesn’t have as strong of a peach scent as that one. This one is more subtle, which I love!

Peach Apricot Candle
I am loving this new one!

A sweet medley of fresh peach and apricot, blended with sugary vanilla, soft jasmine, and clean citrus.

Antique Candle Co

Country Pear

Country Pear is a classic and one of their collaboration candles. This is another thing that I love about this company.

They try to partner and collaborate with as many bloggers and influencers as they can to make their own unique and wonderful scent.

This one was created by the very successful and talented Instagram Influencer, Cotton Stem. Country Pear just celebrated it’s two year anniversary and I am so happy that it is sticking around because it is honestly one of my favorite spring candles.

It has such a subtle yet sweet scent and it is super fragrant as well.

Country Pear Candle
Such a cozy and delicious scent!

Country Pear by Cotton Stem is a cozy blend of fresh golden pear with rich plum, highlighted with brown sugar vanilla and soft notes of roasted hazelnut.

Antique Candle Co

Lavender Vanilla

Lavender Vanilla is another one of my go to’s when ordering spring candles. I love this one especially for the bedroom or bathroom areas.

The lavender scent gives me such a calming and relaxing feeling. I love lighting it a few hours before bed.

I believe it helps me sleep well during the night if I do this every night. Plus, it makes your whole bedroom smell delightful too!

Lavender Vanilla Candle
I have the lavender vanilla candle placed on a bathroom tiered tray here.

Lavender Vanilla is a soothing bouquet of fresh florals and lavender blossoms, highlighted with warm vanilla bean.

Antique Candle Co

Can’t Decide What Spring Candles to Get?

Well then, good news! Antique Candle Co decided to release a HUGE sample box of their Locally Grown Favorites and it includes all of the spring candles listed above plus even more!

It comes with a total of nine sample sized candles! This would be a perfect way to try them all out and to decide which one is your favorite.

Also, you can try the new Peach Apricot scent before it’s official launch date in this box as well. As I mentioned above, the Peach Apricot isn’t set to officially release until April 27th, but this box is coming out on April 13th!

Locally Grown Sample Pack
All the cute little candles that come in the Locally Grown Sample Pack!

Also, on the same day, they are doing an Antique Restock. If you haven’t heard of that before, it is another one of my reasons why I just love Antique Candle Co so much.

What they do is find several antique pieces such as vintage tins, teacups, crock ware, stoneware, and so much more.

Then, they fill these pieces with their delicious soy candle scents and you can get a truly one of a kind piece! I absolutely love when they do these restocks but they sell out so quickly so be sure to set your alarms and mark your calendars!

Have y’all ever had any spring candles from Antique Candle Co before?? If so, I would love to hear what some of your favorite scents are too! Let me know below!

One of my favorite things to do is light a candle, and just do my work alongside it. But I’m having trouble with finding candles that actually have scents when they burn, so this seems perfect. I’ll certainly check them out, thanks for sharing!

I’m sure they would love these candles. All of these scents sound similar to scents I love. I have way too many candles according to my husband, though, haha. If I can sneak some more into the house, I would love to order some! Thank you for sharing about this wonderful company!

I’ve recently been fond of scented candles. Found myself buying quite a number of it these days! There’s so many interesting scents from small businesses here who make candles and right now, they’re already selling Christmas collections and I’ve already placed my orders. Definitely excited to get my candles.

I proudly present… the most expensive homegrown pe I proudly present… the most expensive homegrown pepper we’ve ever grown. 🌶️🤣

Who else is gardening this year? 🌱 What are you growing, and what’s been your biggest success so far? Drop your garden updates below because I love seeing what everyone is growing! 👇🍅🥒🌶️

Would you choose real plants or faux plants for your porch? 🌿👇

Can we talk about how exhausting working with the Can we talk about how exhausting working with the public can be? Some days I’m convinced my true calling is being a remote work, stay-at-home employee with minimal social interaction because nothing drains my social battery faster. 😅

But here we are, another workday, another dollar, and we’re just gonna power through and get it done. 💪

Anyone else feel completely wiped out after talking to people all day, or is that just my introvert/neurodivergent brain? 🤪 #workhumor #workingwiththepublic #officehumor #relatablecontent #funnyworkmemes
Happy Sunday, friends! ☀️Sharing a few cozy Sunday Happy Sunday, friends! ☀️Sharing a few cozy Sunday stills of our front porch today because I’m absolutely soaking up this beautiful weather.

Wishing you all a relaxing Sunday filled with sunshine, fresh air, and a little time to enjoy the simple things. #sundaystills #flowerbed #flowerbeds #porchdecor #porchsitting
But can we talk about how hard it is to make frien But can we talk about how hard it is to make friends in your 30s?! Is anyone else struggling with adult friendships, or is it just me?

Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

So if you’re also navigating social anxiety, an expired social battery, awkward small talk, and the challenge of making friends as an adult... welcome. You’re my people.

At least in my head, I’m the life of the party. 🎉🤣 #neurodivergent #neurodivergentsupport #socialanxietymemes #adultfriendships #socialbattery

POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you rem POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you remember you’re funding your cat’s luxury lifestyle. 😹

Tell me I’m not the only one who reads the side effects before taking a new prescription! 👇 #sideeffects #medicationsideeffects #chronicallyill #chronicillnesslife #chronicillnessmemes
Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙 There’s Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙

There’s just something about decorating with old red, white, and blue treasures that makes a home feel extra cozy for summer. I love styling my dining room shelves with vintage Americana pieces, antique finds, and patriotic decor that can stay up from Memorial Day all the way through the Fourth of July and beyond!

Give me all the weathered flags, vintage crocks, old books, and classic Americana touches. 🇺🇸

I know some people pack away their patriotic decorations after July 4th, but I love leaving my summer patriotic decor out all season long. It just feels timeless to me!

POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month t POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month turned me into a full-time homebody 🤣
