Apparently, if I had actually read the product description, I would have known that. But who has time for details when you’re busy adding things to your cart? 😂

After a LOT of fluffing, shaping, and styling, though, these faux hanging ferns turned out so good! I love using artificial hanging baskets on our porch because they’re completely low-maintenance, stay green year-round, and don’t require me to climb a ladder every few days to water them. As someone who’s vertically challenged, that’s a major win. 🤣

If you’re looking for realistic faux outdoor plants, easy porch decorating ideas, or low-maintenance outdoor decor, I highly recommend giving these a try!

Would you choose real plants or faux plants for your porch? 🌿👇

But here we are, another workday, another dollar, and we’re just gonna power through and get it done. 💪

Anyone else feel completely wiped out after talking to people all day, or is that just my introvert/neurodivergent brain? 🤪 #workhumor #workingwiththepublic #officehumor #relatablecontent #funnyworkmemes
Happy Sunday, friends! ☀️Sharing a few cozy Sunday Happy Sunday, friends! ☀️Sharing a few cozy Sunday stills of our front porch today because I’m absolutely soaking up this beautiful weather. There’s just something special about slowing down, enjoying some good old-fashioned porch sitting, and taking in the sights and sounds of summer. Anyone else spending time outside today?

I’m especially excited that we finally got our flower beds refreshed and ready for the season! 🌸🐦 The colorful blooms have already started attracting hummingbirds, and watching them dart around the flowers from inside the house each morning has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the day.

Between the front porch decor, blooming flowers, and warm summer sunshine, home feels extra sweet right now. ❤️

Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

So if you’re also navigating social anxiety, an expired social battery, awkward small talk, and the challenge of making friends as an adult... welcome. You’re my people.

At least in my head, I’m the life of the party. 🎉🤣 #neurodivergent #neurodivergentsupport #socialanxietymemes #adultfriendships #socialbattery
POV: You survived your first full week back at wor POV: You survived your first full week back at work after endometriosis excision surgery… and this is what recovery really looks like. 😂

I officially made it through my first full week back to work after a month-long surgery leave, and whew… the post-op fatigue is NO joke.

Every evening has looked pretty much the same: clock out, soak my aching body in a scorching hot bath, grab my heating pad, put on my weighted eye mask, and immediately take a cat nap before I can even think about making dinner or doing anything around the house. 😴

I knew recovering from endometriosis excision surgery would take time, but I didn’t expect the exhaustion to hit this hard after returning to work. My body is definitely reminding me that healing isn’t always a straight line.

Right now, this little recovery routine is getting me through:
💛 Hot bath
💛 Heating pad on full blast
💛 Weighted eye mask (shoutout to @nodpodofficial)
💛 Emergency evening nap

Thankfully, it’s finally the weekend, and I can focus on resting and recharging before doing it all over again next week.

If you’ve had endometriosis excision surgery, how long did the fatigue last for you after returning to work? Please tell me this part doesn’t last forever! 😂👇

Whenever I have a bad day at work, I remind myself that I need that paycheck so my cats can stay home all day, nap in peace, eat snacks, and live their best spoiled-cat lives. 😂

This first week back at work has been ROUGH, y’all. I miss being home with my fur babies more than anything. Honestly, I think my true calling in life is being a stay-at-home cat mom. 🐾

But unfortunately, someone has to pay for the treats, toys, fancy food, and all the other necessities required to maintain this luxury cat lifestyle. And that someone is me. 😅

The funniest part? I don’t even think little Miss Riley misses me. As long as the food bowl stays full and the treats keep coming, she’s perfectly content living her best life while I’m out here working my butt off. 🤣

Any other cat parents feel like they’re just employees funding their pets’ dreams? 🐱💸 #stayathomecat #stayathomecatmom #catmom #catmomproblems #catmomprobs
Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Goo Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Google every possible side effect before starting a new medication? Because I swear if there’s a rare reaction listed, somehow I’m the lucky winner. 🤣

Being chronically ill means I’ve tried my fair share of medications over the years, and my body always seems to have a mind of its own. If a medicine is supposed to make people sleepy, I’ll be wide awake all night. If there’s a tiny chance of an adverse reaction, somehow I’m usually that tiny percentage. 😅

So starting a new medication is always a little nerve-wracking for me. Part of me is hopeful it’ll finally provide some relief, and the other part is preparing for whatever random side effect my body decides to throw my way.

Here’s hoping this one actually helps my symptoms without adding a whole new list of problems. 🤞😂

There’s just something about decorating with old red, white, and blue treasures that makes a home feel extra cozy for summer. I love styling my dining room shelves with vintage Americana pieces, antique finds, and patriotic decor that can stay up from Memorial Day all the way through the Fourth of July and beyond!

Give me all the weathered flags, vintage crocks, old books, and classic Americana touches. 🇺🇸

I know some people pack away their patriotic decorations after July 4th, but I love leaving my summer patriotic decor out all season long. It just feels timeless to me!

Honestly, staying home healing after surgery has taught me one thing… I never want to leave my house again 😂 Being cozy at home with my cats, resting, binge watching shows, and avoiding the outside world has been absolutely glorious. I truly understand the “stay at home cat mom” lifestyle now lol.

At this point, I have everything I need right here at home. Peace, comfy clothes, snacks, my pets, and zero social obligations 🤣 Meanwhile, every time I actually leave the house, I come back completely exhausted.

So the fact that I have to go back to work today after a month of recovery is honestly going to be SUCH a rough adjustment 😅 I’m not mentally prepared to rejoin society yet lol. Anyone else secretly love being home way too much?!

Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of going back to work while still recovering from surgery. Between the physical healing and the emotional side of post-surgery recovery, I’ve been feeling pretty down lately. So this comedy date night ended up being exactly what I needed.

We bought tickets to see @johnbcrist months ago, long before I had any idea I’d be spending a month on surgery leave. Turns out the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. This was our third time seeing him live, and he absolutely delivered. I laughed so hard that for a couple of hours, I completely forgot about returning to work, ongoing recovery, and all the stress waiting for me next week. 🤣

Before the show, we had dinner at @redgingerasianbistro and finished the night with dessert at @timesbarandcoffee which made the whole evening even better. Good food, lots of laughs, and quality time with my husband was exactly the distraction I needed.

Sometimes healing isn’t just about physical recovery. Sometimes it’s about finding little moments that remind you how good it feels to laugh again. ❤️

Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I have to chop onions because my eyes tear up so bad… 🤣

Ever since I had LASIK surgery a few years ago, chopping onions has been brutal on my eyes. I’m talking instant tears the second I start cutting them 😂 Apparently my eyes became extra sensitive afterward, and honestly it’s been a struggle ever since.

But then I heard about the “wear sunglasses while chopping onions” hack and y’all… why does it actually work?! 😅 So now anytime my hubby isn’t home to take over onion duty, you can catch me in the kitchen wearing sunglasses indoors looking ridiculous but tear-free 😎

If you’ve ever wondered how to stop crying while cutting onions, consider this your sign to try the sunglasses trick! It may look silly, but it seriously helps block those onion fumes from hitting your eyes 👏

Now I need to know… does anyone else have weird kitchen hacks like this? 😂 #kitchenhacks #cookinghacks #onionhack #cookinghack #onions
Y’all already know I’ve been on a serious freezer Y’all already know I’ve been on a serious freezer meal kick lately since I unfortunately have to go back to work next week 😭 And let me tell you… having a freezer stocked full of easy homemade dinners is about to save me on those busy weeknights!

One of my all-time favorite freezer meals is this homemade chicken pot pie recipe 🥧✨ It definitely takes a little extra work, especially if you make the homemade pie crust from scratch; but trust me, it is SO worth it. The creamy chicken filling, flaky buttery crust, and cozy comfort food vibes make it one of the best dinners ever.

Anytime I make homemade chicken pot pie, I always make two: one for dinner now and one freezer meal for later. And this time, I took my extra frozen chicken pot pie to my sweet mama after her surgery yesterday 💛 It’s honestly the perfect meal to bring someone recovering from surgery, welcoming a new baby, or just going through a hard season because all they have to do is pop it in the oven for an easy homemade comfort meal.

If you love easy freezer meals, homemade comfort food recipes, or make-ahead dinners for busy families, you definitely need to try this one!

Back to School Essentials

Okay so spoiler alert- I am not going back to school. BUT, I am a total nerd and I absolutely LOVE stationary, planners, new pens, the whole nine yards! And I’ve recently partnered up with Erin Condren to share the best back to school essentials ever.

And, just like me, you don’t have to be going back to school to use them. Going back to school is no longer just for kids and this brand new collection is proof of that! It comes with everything you need to refresh your desk or office space.

Not only is everything fun, but functional too! We’re talking brand new stationary, writing tools, and organizing must-haves that are also designed to bring you joy by their pretty appearance.

Y’all already know what a huge Erin Condren fan I am. I’ve already shared that they make the best life planners around! So If you’re a nerd like me, be sure to check out this brand new and fun collection too!

What Are the Back to School Essentials?

So now I am going to highlight everything that came in my back to school collection box. I’m not gonna lie y’all, this is so much fun for me! I used to love going back to school shopping (both for clothes and supplies) and there is nothing like some brand new pens and pretty folders.

Because of that, I am greatly enjoying myself testing out all the new goodies and sharing them with you. I may not be going back to school, but I do use a lot of these products in my daily life. I am old school and love to write down appointments and everything in a planner.

And I like to brainstorm blogging ideas in an actual paper notebook. As I mentioned in my Haven Conference recap, I love to actually take notes too whenever I am in a class. I feel like I learn even better when I write things down.

Daily Routine and Ritual Notebook

This notebook is brand new and literally just launched on August 10th. So it is just a few days old! Get your hands on this notebook to start discovering what your daily routines and rituals are.

I am excited to jot some of mine down from day to day and see which ones I am more prone to. And which ones I actually stick with and like.

In Bloom Academic Planner

Okay, an academic planner is obviously a must for some back to school essentials. I feel like if you really are a student, you gotta have one! Definitely helps you stay organized with all your upcoming classes and/or assignments as well.

Weekly Habits Sticky Notepad

This one kind of goes along with the daily routine and ritual notebook. But it’s in sticky pad form which is even easier to write down a few notes for it!

Color Change Pen Set 6pk

Um, excuse me?? Color changing pens?! Sign me up please because how fun is that?! Make your note taking go to the next level with these fun pens!

Student Weekly Schedule Deskpad

This is another back to school essential if you truly are a student. This would be perfect to keep on your desk to help you be able to quickly organize everything with just a glance!

Sticky Note Ball

Okay, I’m sorry, a sticky note ball?! Again, how much fun is that?! Why weren’t these cute things around back when I was in school?

Vegan Leather Folio

I definitely geeked out on this beautiful leather folio. It can hold so many things since there are so many different sized pockets and everything in it.

I immediately thought that it can hold some of my business cards and things like that. So if you’re a blogger too, then you definitely should invest in one of these. Plus, the vegan leather is so soft and buttery!

Blush Calculator

I mean you gotta have a calculator on your desk right? And not just any old calculator, but a cute blush one obviously!

Gold Bookmark Ruler

Same thing goes for rulers too, right? It needs to be gold and shiny and pretty! I also love how this one doubles as a bookmark too! Bonus points!

Lined 3 Subject Notebook

These are my favorite notebooks and the ones I use to brainstorm all my blog ideas. Plus, it’s definitely another back to school essential for students for sure! You can’t really go to school without notebooks, can you?

And can they be any cuter? Erin Condren has so many beautiful designs to choose from. There is literally something for everyone on their site!

Heading Back to School

Well, whether you’re heading back to school or just to your office, I hope this post gave you some great ideas on cute and functional back to school essentials! Have you ever used any Erin Condren products before too?!

If so, which ones are your favorites? I would love to know! Let me know in the comments below and thank you so much for stopping by my friends!

Can we talk about how exhausting working with the Can we talk about how exhausting working with the public can be? Some days I’m convinced my true calling is being a remote work, stay-at-home employee with minimal social interaction because nothing drains my social battery faster. 😅

Wishing you all a relaxing Sunday filled with sunshine, fresh air, and a little time to enjoy the simple things. #sundaystills #flowerbed #flowerbeds #porchdecor #porchsitting
But can we talk about how hard it is to make frien But can we talk about how hard it is to make friends in your 30s?! Is anyone else struggling with adult friendships, or is it just me?

POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you rem POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you remember you’re funding your cat’s luxury lifestyle. 😹

Tell me I’m not the only one who reads the side effects before taking a new prescription! 👇 #sideeffects #medicationsideeffects #chronicallyill #chronicillnesslife #chronicillnessmemes
Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙 There’s Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙

Do you decorate with patriotic decor all summer, or do you switch things up after the Fourth of July? #vintageamericana #vintagepatriotic #americanadecor #americana #patrioticdecor
POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month t POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month turned me into a full-time homebody 🤣
