POV: you let your tuxedo cat snuggle on you while POV: you let your tuxedo cat snuggle on you while wearing a dark colored sweat set… rookie mistake. 😹

Consider this my official reminder to NEVER wear burgundy while cuddling Charlie again. 😂 One snuggle session later and my entire outfit is covered in black and white cat hair.

And the craziest part?! We literally JUST brushed her yesterday. 😬 How does one fluffy little tuxedo cat have this much fur to give?!

Being a cat mom basically means accepting that cat hair is now an accessory, your lint roller is your best friend, and you’ll be doing laundry for the rest of your life. 🤣

Thankfully, Charlie is cute enough to get away with it… and clearly VERY unbothered by the fact that she completely ruined my outfit. 😹

Tuxedo cat parents… PLEASE tell me I’m not the only one constantly covered in cat hair?! 👇🏻

10 YEARS. 🤍😭 Today is our 10 year wedding anniver 10 YEARS. 🤍😭

Today is our 10 year wedding anniversary, and I truly cannot believe an entire decade has already gone by. Somehow, it feels like we were just saying “I do,” and at the same time, I can’t imagine a version of my life without you in it.

Logan, you are my rock, my safe space, my biggest supporter, my constant encourager, and most importantly, my best friend. 🤍

This past year has probably been one of the hardest years we’ve walked through together. Between everything going on with my health, the uncertainty surrounding my job and my future, and all the unknowns we’ve had to navigate, life has looked a lot different than I ever imagined it would.

But through every hard day, every appointment, every disappointment, every fear, and every unknown, you have been right there beside me. You’ve supported me, encouraged me, taken care of me, made me laugh when I needed it most, and reminded me over and over again that I never have to go through any of it alone.

And I don’t think I’ll ever be able to fully put into words how much that means to me.

I’m so incredibly blessed that God gave me you. 🥹🤍 I would choose you over and over again in every lifetime.

Happy 10 year anniversary, Logan!! I love you more than you’ll ever know. Here’s to the next 10 years, and every single year after that. 🥂🤍

A whole decade down, forever to go. ♾️
POV: you’re overstimulated, exhausted, SUPER hangr POV: you’re overstimulated, exhausted, SUPER hangry… and then you drop your entire hot lunch on the kitchen floor 😩🤣

Because WHY do these things always happen when you’ve already hit your limit for the day?! Like that was quite literally my final straw 😂

And the best part? I had JUST cleaned the kitchen floors. Of course I did. 🙃 But at least this runner is vinyl so it’s easy to clean too thankfully!

Nothing humbles you quite like standing in your freshly cleaned kitchen, staring at the lunch you were so excited to eat… on the floor. 😂

Just one of those real-life moments where you have to laugh so you don’t cry and keep rolling with life’s punches.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who has days where one tiny inconvenience feels like the absolute LAST STRAW?! 😩👇🏻

Remember that gorgeous amber glass pumpkin candle Remember that gorgeous amber glass pumpkin candle from @antiquecandleco_ I shared last month?! Well… I’m sad to report that I’ve already burned through the entire thing 🤣 It smelled THAT good!

But honestly, one of my favorite things about this fall candle is that the beautiful amber glass pumpkin jar can be repurposed once the candle is gone. After giving mine a good clean, I turned it into the cutest little Halloween candy jar! 🍬🎃

So basically, it’s a 2-for-1: you get an amazing smelling fall candle AND an adorable reusable pumpkin jar for your fall and Halloween decor. 🙌🏻

I love finding ways to reuse seasonal decor instead of putting it away or tossing it—and this amber pumpkin looks so cute filled with Halloween candy!

Want one for your home too? Comment “CANDLE” below and I’ll send you the link! 👇🏻

Sharing some cozy fall bedroom stills today because this room might be one of my favorite spaces I’ve decorated for fall this year! There’s just something about rich autumn colors, warm candlelight, and seasonal touches that makes a bedroom feel SO much cozier.

And can we talk about these new fall eucalyptus trees from @nearlynaturalfloral?! 😍 I feel like they completely pulled the whole fall bedroom look together. The deep, moody colors are perfect for creating that warm and cozy autumn vibe I love.

I swear I sleep better when my bedroom is decorated for the season too. 😂 Anyone else?!

And of course, it wouldn’t be fall in our house without an @antiquecandleco_ candle burning. 🕯️🍁 Their fall scents make the entire house smell like autumn perfection!

If you’ve never tried Antique Candle Co. before, you can use my code Macedonia20 for 20% off! 🤎

Are you team decorate every room for fall or do you keep the seasonal decor to just a few spaces? Tell me below! 👇🏻

When my hubby first got this rotating watch displa When my hubby first got this rotating watch display case, I’m not gonna lie… I thought he was being a little ridiculous and extra 😂 Like, do the watches really need their own light-up display?!

Turns out… yes. Yes, they do. 🤣

Now I totally get the hype! I love the blue LED light in the background, the slow rotating display, and how it keeps his watch collection organized instead of having watches scattered all over the place. It honestly looks SO cool sitting out too!

And if you’re looking for a unique gift for a husband, boyfriend, dad, or any watch lover in your life, I feel like this would be such a good gift idea. 👏🏻⌚️ Especially for the guy who already seems to have everything!

Apparently I’m enabling the watch obsession now instead of questioning it. 😂

Would the watch-obsessed man in your life love this too?! 👇🏻

Remember when I painted that Target cat statue to Remember when I painted that Target cat statue to look just like my Charlie?! 😹 Well apparently, I forgot to get Riley’s approval first.

Little Miss Riley discovered the finished DIY cat statue proudly displayed on the porch, and her reaction absolutely sent me. 💀

At first, I’m pretty sure she thought we had brought home a FOURTH cat without consulting her. She kept staring at it from a safe distance like, “Ummm… excuse me?! Who is THAT?!” 👀🐈

Eventually, she worked up enough courage to jump up there and confront the mysterious imposter cat herself… only to realize it was FAKE. 🤣

And then, of course, she immediately had to play it cool like she totally knew that the entire time. 😹

Nothing humbles a cat faster than realizing she just tried to intimidate a painted statue. 😂

Cat moms, please tell me I’m not the only one whose cats get suspicious over literally ANY new piece of decor?!

I turned these plain white pumpkins into DIY golf I turned these plain white pumpkins into DIY golf ball pumpkins, and I think I just found the perfect fall decor for a golfer’s man cave!

I used my Cricut to cut out some of my hubby’s favorite golf brand logos, then applied them to the pumpkins with transfer tape. That’s literally it! Such an easy Cricut fall craft, but they turned out SO cute.

You could definitely hand-paint the logos if you don’t have a Cricut…but y’all know me and my shaky hands. 😂 Painting tiny golf logos was absolutely NOT happening, so my Cricut saved the day!

Now these golf-themed pumpkins are officially my favorite piece of fall decor in my hubby’s man cave garage. Because apparently this is how you sneak fall decor into a golf-obsessed husband’s space. 😉⛳️

Honestly, I think these would be such a fun DIY golf gift idea too! If you want my full step by step tutorial, comment “golf” below and I’ll send it your way!

Because apparently if I put on a cute outfit, walk dramatically through some twinkle lights, and simply ✨ignore my responsibilities✨… they no longer exist.

That’s how adulting works, right?! 🤣

Consider this your reminder that the laundry, emails, errands, cleaning, and never-ending to-do list will still be there later. Sometimes you just need to romanticize your life and pretend you have absolutely nothing to do for a minute. 😂

Please tell me I’m not the only one entering the weekend with a to-do list I have ZERO intentions of completing. 👇🏻

What to do in a Weekend in Charleston, South Carolina

We just got back from our fun spring break trip a couple of weeks ago. We went to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and then drove into Charleston for just a couple of days after that. It makes for a perfect road trip to see two different places at once like that. So I thought it would be fun to share what to do in a weekend in Charleston with you guys.

That way, if you are planning a trip here too, you can plan and prepare! I will show you some of the best things to do as well as the best places to eat so you can include everything you want to do in just a weekend trip.

It is entirely possible to enjoy Charleston in just two days! I know that seems super short, but that is exactly what we did! Now, granted, we have been there several times before already, so we kind of know where all our favorite spots are. however, we did try some new things out on this trip too!

And if you’re staying for a long weekend, or a week long trip, be sure to check out my post on Things to Do in Charleston for Couples too. That post is chock full of ideas of things to do, if you are staying an extended period of time.

Also, be sure to check out Things To Do In Mount Pleasant as well. Since that is such a short drive over from downtown Charleston too! But, keep on reading for my full two day Charleston itinerary for this trip!

Where to Stay in Charleston

This trip we decided to try out the beautiful Andrew Pinckney Inn and we were very pleased with it! It’s located right in the historic downtown area of Charleston and within walking distance to everywhere you want to go!

Andrew Pinckney Inn Suite

We have stayed in Ansonborough Inn before on East Bay Street too, and that one is another phenomenal place to stay. Both places are full of history and antique furniture, which we absolutely love!

Antique Furniture in Room

At Andrew Pinckney Inn, we stayed in the Saint Phillip Suite which was incredible. It had a beautiful, open view straight into the downtown streets. And I absolutely loved the exposed brick walls!

Saint Phillip Suite

The bathroom was incredible too. There was a huge shower, as well as a massive soaking tub. Which I thoroughly enjoyed and took great advantage of!

Sitting Nook in Hotel Room

The whole interior design of the suite was stunning and I loved every architectural detail to it! They do have a happy hour here from 4:00pm-5:00pm as well as a free breakfast in the morning from 7:00am-10:00am.

Me in Andrew Pinckney Inn
I was also loving this huge mirror in the room too! Perfect to take some outfit photos! Linking the outfit details below:

However, if you’re staying for just a weekend, I would recommend venturing out to the city for brunch at some of the best restaurants in town!

TV in Hotel Room

This Inn does not have a fitness center, however, they do offer day passes to a local gym if you’re interested in that. But, keep in mind, if you’re walking everywhere like we did, you will definitely get your exercise in for the day!

View out of Andrew Pinckney Inn

Another plus to staying at a hotel in downtown Charleston is the valet parking services they offer. Utilizing them helps save you time from trying to find parking garages and where to park in the city as this can be extremely hard to find!

First Day of the Weekend

I suggest exploring and walking around King Street on your first day of your weekend in Charleston. As well as eating as much incredible food as you can!

Andrew Pinckney Inn

This city is a huge food scene so you will definitely not be disappointed. I will share with you all the best spots and places we went that made this weekend memorable.

Flowerboxes in Charleston

First Brunch at 82 Queen

Our first stop this day was having brunch at 82 Queen Restaurant. We had never been here before, but always wanted to try it out. And I am so glad we did, because it was absolutely delicious! And you guessed it, the restaurant is located right on 82 queen Street! Hence the name!

Gazebo at 82 Queen

The goal of this weekend trip in Charleston was to try out as many places that we haven’t been before that we could. And in such a short time, I believe we did a great job of it!

Outdoor Seating at 82 Queen

This restaurant is scattered with beautiful outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. However, when we got there it was pouring down the rain so being outdoors was a no go.

Outdoor 82 Queen Seating

The inside of the restaurant was beautiful and again, the food was incredible. We split the fried chicken over a buttermilk biscuit with grits and it did not disappoint!

Brunch at 82 Queen

That’s another tip I have for you during your weekend in Charleston- be sure to split your meals! If you want to try out as many restaurants as possible, this is a great way to do so. That way, you aren’t too full and miserable to enjoy every place. Trust me, even by splitting it, they still bring you a ton of food!

Inside 82 Queen

Second Brunch At Slightly North of Broad (S.N.O.B.)

Are we ridiculous if we had two brunches in one day? If so, I don’t care because it was so worth it! We have always wanted to try Slightly North of Broad and hadn’t made it there before until this trip.

Avocado Toast

And again, it did not disappoint! It is an amazing restaurant with such a cool atmosphere. We split their avocado toast and eggs Benedict dish and it was perfect! Although, I have to say, I think I liked 82 Queen’s brunch the best!

Cornbread and Butter

Stroll Around The Holy City

After stuffing ourselves full, the next part of our Charleston weekend itinerary was to just stroll around the city. Like I mentioned above, we always love shopping and strolling all the stores on King Street.

We also love going to walk around Joe Riley Waterfront Park, and that is where the famous pineapple fountain is located too! You could also stroll around the historic Charleston city market. That’s a cool spot to check out if you haven’t done so before.

Waterfront Park

Also, for all the history buffs, there are plenty of other things you could do too. Such as do a walking tour of the historic district, or visit all the historic homes on Rainbow Row.

You could even drive over to the Maritime Museum (which I shared all about over on my Mount Pleasant post). Or visit the Fort Sumter national monument by using a ferry ride out of the Charleston harbor as well.

And, if it’s warm enough (since we went in March, it was definitely not warm at all!), be sure to check out some of the beautiful beaches near Charleston too. Such as Isle of Palms, Sullivan’s Island, or Folly Beach as well.

Flowerboxes

But, since we have done all those things in the past, we decided to just chill and walk around and enjoy the city.

Dinner in The City

After strolling off some of our brunch, it was already time for dinner! We decided to try out Oak Steakhouse as this was another restaurant that we had not been to before.

Me Dressed Up For Dinner

Also, how cute is my little date night dress?! Perfect for a tropical vacation like this! I will link some more outfit details for you below too:

And it turns out, it was absolutely fantastic too! The service was great and the food was so yummy. We wanted to try this place out to see how it compared to Hall’s Chophouse. And while it was delicious too, I think I prefer Hall’s Chophouse.

Oak Restaurant
Chicken at Oak Restaurant

We went there for our anniversary back in October and they completely blew us out of the water. Now, keep in mind, both places are pretty pricey, so you may want to save these spots for a special occasion, like an anniversary or birthday.

The Perfect Place for Dessert

A great place to end the first day of your weekend in Charleston, is Carmella’s Dessert Cafe! We absolutely love this place and go there every time we are visiting. However, it can be pretty challenging to find a seat in there!

The restaurant is kind of tiny and very popular, so be prepared to wait in line! We decided to order our dessert and take it to go back to the hotel room and relax.

Key Lime Pie

I ended up trying their key lime pie, which was phenomenal! And my hubs got one of his favorites, the carrot cake. I love how their cakes are so cute and small. However, don’t be fooled. You could easily share one cake alone because they are so sweet and filling!

Second Day of The Weekend

On the second day of our weekend in Charleston, we had brunch plans again (of course!), but they were a little later in the morning.

Clerks Coffee Shop

So we decided to try out a cute coffee shop near our hotel called Clerks for some morning coffee. And not only was the coffee great, the inside of the coffee shop was adorable too!

Us Going to Brunch

Linking some outfit details below too:

For brunch, we went to one of our favorite restaurants ever, Husk. We usually always try to squeeze in a Husk visit while we are in Charleston. Whether it’s for brunch or dinner, it’s always amazing!

Strawberry Thyme Donuts

We split their freshly made strawberry thyme ricotta donuts and the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich. Both were absolutely incredible. Definitely my all time favorite brunch of the weekend!

Sausage Egg and Cheese Biscuit

Afterwards, we walked around a little and ended up at another great brunch place called Prohibition. This place also serves a great dinner too and the outdoor patio in the back is a perfect place to sit and soak up the sunshine on a warm day!

Charleston Culinary Tour

I think the best time of our trip was when we went on this culinary tour! It’s a guided tour that takes you to four different restaurants in the city and it changes daily. So you never really know where you are going, which is a fun surprise!

About to Start Charleston Culinary Tour
Culinary Tour

Ours took us around the french quarter restaurants of the city mainly and we got to try out Poogan’s Smokehouse, Charleston Crab House, Big John’s Tavern, and Bennett’s for dessert!

Walking to Culinary Tour

Between each restaurant it was a short walk to the next one, which was nice because you didn’t get too full at each one. They give you a little sampling of their menu too so it’s not like a huge meal. At Poogan’s Smokehouse we got a BBQ Slider and Collard Greens.

BBQ Slider at Poogan's Smokehouse

Then, at Charleston Crabhouse we got a low country boil platter to split. Afterwards, at Big John’s, we got bacon and duck nachos. Honestly, this was my favorite stop because it was so cool and unexpected.

Big John's Tavern
Duck Nachos

They bring the bacon out tied on a string and then they light it on fire to create a smoky flavor to the bacon. It was such a cool thing to watch and it tasted great too!

Coconut Cake

The finale was at Bennett’s where they gave us a coconut cake slice to share. And honestly, I am not a big fan of coconut cake, but I actually enjoyed this one! We even liked the place so much, we went back after dinner to try something else on their menu too!

Last Evening in Charleston

After the culinary tour, we went back to the hotel to relax for a little while. We also set late dinner reservations for the night because we knew we would be pretty full from the culinary tour experience.

Before dinner, we strolled around King Street again and ended up at one of my favorite local bookstores there, Buxton Books. This is where you start a ghost tour down there if you decide to do one of those at night too.

Buxton Books
Buxton Books in Charleston

Our culinary guide was actually our tour guide from one of our ghost tours we did in the past too. His name is Simon and he is one of the best tour guides there. So if you go too, request him!

Our final dinner of the weekend was spent at another one of our favorite places, Amen Street! Funny story, this place is actually where we tried oysters for the very first time and realized we loved them!

Amen Street

This restaurant is another popular spot in the city because of the delicious food and the ambiance. We love coming here! We split some oysters (of course) and then the main dish of shrimp scampi was absolutely incredible too!

Oysters At Amen Street
Shrimp Scampi

And again, like I mentioned above, we went back to Bennett’s to top the evening off! I tried their tiramisu, which is one of my favorite desserts, and my hubby tried one of their pie slices, and that was also incredible. It was the perfect way to end the evening!

Should You Spend a Weekend on a Charleston Vacation?

If I haven’t convinced you by now that a weekend in Charleston should definitely be on your bucket list, I don’t know what else will! I can’t think of another better place I would want to be for a quick, weekend trip!

Us at Husk Restaurant

And thankfully, it is only a four hour drive from our home so we are able to get there relatively quickly too. If you love a good ol southern city with plenty of historical sites, or just love to eat some phenomenal meals and have a good time, then this is the place for you!

I hope you enjoyed this little travel post and if you have been Charleston before too, let me know below! I would love to hear all about your favorite spots and places to go there as well!

My brother used to live close to Charleston, so whenever I would visit, I would head to Charleston. It’s always fun to see what other people recommend while they’re there. I actually have been to 82 Queen, and had a really good meal! Seemed like you had a really good time 🙂 xx

POV: your bedroom officially entered its cozy fall POV: your bedroom officially entered its cozy fall era 🍂🤎

Would your husband approve of these golf ball pumpkins, or would he tell you to leave his man cave alone?! 😂👇🏻

Me walking into the weekend like my to-do list isn Me walking into the weekend like my to-do list isn’t a mile long and I don’t have approximately 47 things I should be doing. 😂

If fall had an official breakfast, I’m pretty sure If fall had an official breakfast, I’m pretty sure this would be it. 🎃☕️🍂

I made this easy pumpkin pecan coffee cake to celebrate the start of fall, and y’all… I think I just found my new favorite pumpkin recipe!

The pumpkin coffee cake itself is incredibly soft and moist with all those warm pumpkin spice flavors, but the BEST part might be that buttery cinnamon pecan streusel topping. 🤤 It gives every bite the perfect little crunch!

And despite how good it looks, this recipe is actually SO easy to make. You don’t even need a stand mixer, just a couple of bowls, a baking dish and about 10 minutes of prep!

It’s the perfect easy fall breakfast for a slow weekend morning with a cup of coffee, but it would also be SO good for a fall brunch, Thanksgiving morning or even dessert.

Basically, if you’re looking for an excuse to start baking all the pumpkin recipes… this is it. 😂🎃

Apparently my cat has forgotten how to cat. 😹 I c Apparently my cat has forgotten how to cat. 😹

I caught Toby doing a little DIY cobweb removal on the porch… except instead of just knocking the spiderwebs down, I’m pretty sure he was EATING them. 😂 Sir??? We have actual cat food inside.

I have no idea when spiderwebs became a cat snack, but apparently Toby would give them 10/10. At this point, I might as well put him to work around the rest of the house. If you’re going to eat cobwebs, buddy, at least get the ones in the corners too. 🤣

Anyone else have a cat who does the most unexplainable things?! Please tell me Toby isn’t the only one. 👇🏻

If you only make ONE pumpkin dessert this fall, le If you only make ONE pumpkin dessert this fall, let it be this one. 🎃🤤

This ooey gooey pumpkin butter cake has been one of my favorite fall desserts for YEARS, and once you see that gooey center, you’ll understand why!

It starts with a buttery yellow cake mix crust and then gets topped with the most decadent pumpkin cream cheese filling flavored with cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. And the best part? You actually WANT the middle to stay a little gooey. 👏🏻

It’s basically what would happen if pumpkin pie, cheesecake and gooey butter cake all got together and created the ultimate fall dessert. 😂

This would be SO good for a fall party, Halloween get-together or even Thanksgiving if you want something different from traditional pumpkin pie!

Save this post so you have an easy pumpkin dessert recipe ready for fall baking season. 🍂

And obviously, the first day of fall deserves to be celebrated with a homemade fall treat… so now the only question is: what should I bake today?!

The second I saw this black cat in the Target Hall The second I saw this black cat in the Target Halloween decor section, I knew exactly what I had to do… turn it into Charlie. 😹

Obviously, I couldn’t just leave this little black cat statue as-is when I have my very own fluffy tuxedo cat at home! So I grabbed some paint while I was at Target and came home for a little Halloween craft night with my very attentive supervisor. 😂

And when I say Charlie supervised… I mean she watched VERY closely to make sure I got her likeness just right. 👀

I used white paint to recreate her adorable tuxedo face, pink for her little nose, and green for her eyes. Her eyebrow whiskers came out slightly wonky, but honestly… hers are a little wonky in real life too, so we’re calling that accuracy. 😂

When the DIY cat statue was finally finished, Charlie inspected my work and… well… I’m not sure she was impressed. 😹
Obviously she knows she’s MUCH prettier in person, so her Target Halloween decor dupe simply wasn’t up to her standards.

But I think it turned out absolutely adorable! 🐈‍⬛🎃 This was such an easy and fun way to personalize inexpensive Halloween decor and make it look just like your own pet.
Now I need to know… would you paint one to look like your cat?! 👇🏻
