POV: You planned your beach vacation during Shark POV: You planned your beach vacation during Shark Week because obviously all the sharks are busy filming TV. 😂🦈

In case you didn’t know… Shark Week is the safest week to go to the beach because all the sharks are away on TV right now, so there’s absolutely no chance of getting bitten. (Don’t fact-check me. 🤣)

Looks like we accidentally picked the perfect week to visit Dirty Myrtle! 🌊☀️

Who’s heading to Myrtle Beach this summer? And be honest… are you team “I’ll still get in the ocean” or team “I’ll admire it from the sand”? 😂

I’ll never say no to a sunset cruise in Myrtle Bea I’ll never say no to a sunset cruise in Myrtle Beach! There’s just something about watching the sun melt into the ocean while the breeze hits your face that makes you forget about life’s chaos for a little while.

And honestly? I needed that.

With everything that’s been going on lately, this was exactly the reset my heart needed. For a couple of hours, all I had to worry about was whether I wanted another drink and if we were going to see dolphins. 😂

So yes… call it Dirty Myrtle all you want, but she gave me gorgeous sunsets, peaceful ocean views, and memories I’ll be replaying long after vacation is over.

Now excuse me while I spend the next six months trying to convince my husband we need to move somewhere that has sunsets like this every night. 🤣

Who’s team Dirty Myrtle… and who’s still refusing to admit it’s actually kind of fun? 👇🏻😉

Can you believe we’re only 6 weeks away from the ’ Can you believe we’re only 6 weeks away from the ’ber months?! 🍂 September, October, November, and December are hands-down my favorite time of year!

Don’t get me wrong, I love summer… but I wouldn’t complain if it was about 15 degrees cooler instead of feeling like we’re melting every day. 😂

I’m so ready for crisp fall mornings, cozy evenings, pumpkin everything, fall baking, candlelight, sweaters, and all the cozy autumn vibes. There’s just something magical about this season that makes home feel even cozier.

Who’s already counting down to fall 2026 with me? 🍁👇 Are you team summer or team ’ber months?

Before I can even think about swimsuits and cute o Before I can even think about swimsuits and cute outfits, I have to make sure every medication, supplement, electrolyte packet, and “just in case” item makes it into my bag. Then I mentally go through my checklist about 50 times before we leave because forgetting one thing could completely change the trip.

Traveling with a chronic illness definitely takes a little more planning, but it’s worth it to make the memories. 💛

Now if only I could get a vacation from all the vacation packing. 😂

One of my favorite fall decorating tips is to simply shop my own home first! I gather a few cozy pieces I already own, add a small pumpkin or seasonal accent, and always finish the look with one (or two 😉) Antique Candle Co. candles. Some updates are harder to share than others. ❤️ Some updates are harder to share than others. ❤️

I’ve gone back and forth about posting this because I never want this page to become all about my health. I love sharing recipes, DIYs, home projects, gardening, and all the things that bring me joy. But I also want this space to be real, and right now, this is part of my reality.

I share more in the carousel, but after meeting with my primary care provider last week, I’ll now be having MRIs of both my brain and my spine/back to hopefully get closer to some answers. While Chiari malformation is still a possibility, my doctor also wants to rule out other neurological conditions, like Multiple Sclerosis. Hearing that was incredibly overwhelming, and if I’m being honest, this past week has been one of the hardest mentally.

The waiting is exhausting. Waiting for appointments, waiting for tests, waiting for results… it feels like my life has been on pause while I wait to find out what’s causing all of these symptoms.

I also wanted to remind everyone that social media is often a highlight reel. Most of the content you see from me was planned and scheduled on days when I felt well enough to create. What you don’t see are the tears, the fear, the doctor’s appointments, the nights spent worrying, or the mental toll that comes with living in the unknown.

If there’s one thing I hope you take away from this post, it’s this: please be kind. You never truly know what someone is carrying behind the scenes. Invisible illnesses are just that- invisible.

And if you’re walking through your own health journey right now, I want you to know you’re not alone. This community has been such a source of comfort for me, and I’m so thankful for every message, prayer, and encouraging word you’ve sent my way. They truly mean more than you know. ❤️

If you pray, I’d really appreciate your prayers as I move through this next round of testing. I’m holding onto hope that we’ll finally get some answers. 🤍

Mine is literally hanging on by one tiny corner (like 90% detached 🤢), and I can’t decide if I should just pull it off or leave it alone. The problem is it hurts every time I put on socks or shoes because it keeps catching and tugging. 😩

This actually happened to me years ago after wearing cowboy booties in Nashville that rubbed my pinky toes raw, and I ended up losing both pinky toenails. They eventually grew back completely normal, so I’m so confused why it’s happening again.

I haven’t stubbed my toe, I haven’t had a pedicure in over 6 weeks, and I’ve mostly been living in sandals all summer with my usual tennis shoes. So what in the world would make a toenail suddenly start falling off? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Should I just go ahead and pull it off since it’s barely attached, or leave it alone and let it come off on its own? Tell me what you would do because I’m officially accepting all the toenail advice I can get. 😂

And at this point, I guess my body has decided to rebel from the top of my head all the way down to my toenails. 🫠🤣 #toes #toenails #pinkytoe #pinkytoes #toenail

At this point, I’m about ready to start a Late Night Book Club for all the insomnia and perimenopause girlies because apparently none of us are sleeping anyway. 📚☕️😂

DIY: Easy and Simple Paper Heart Banner

Do y’all decorate for Valentine’s Day? I don’t go all out like I do at Christmas, but I do like to throw in a few seasonal touches here and there. I also don’t like to spend too much money on decorations for this holiday since it is so short. I usually don’t start putting things up until the very end of January so it is pointless to me to spend a bunch of money on decorations that will only be out for a couple of weeks. That’s why I try to do as many DIY projects and crafts as I can for this holiday. Today I am going to show you how to make an easy and simple paper heart banner that you can hang anywhere your heart desires – no pun intended!

Paper Heart Banner

This post first appeared on A Crazy Family. I made a few revisions to it and thought I would share it with you all here again since it is almost Valentine’s Day as well! This post also contains affiliate links. Click here to read my disclosure policy.

Supplies Needed:

  • Antiqued, Stained Paper (Click here to read all about my technique for staining paper- which is also super easy to do as well!)
  • Heart Lever Punch
  • Twine/String
  • Mini Clothespins
Supplies Needed
Here is everything you need to get started!

Make Your Paper Hearts

So the first thing you are going to do is make your paper hearts for this banner. All you have to do is take your antiqued paper and punch hearts out using a heart lever punch.

I got mine from Michael’s and you can see the different options they have here. I am sure you can find these at any of your local craft stores as well.

I used the smaller one (2 ⅜ in by 6.03 cm), but if you want to use the bigger size, that would definitely turn out great too.

Heart Lever Punch
Here is my heart lever punch I used.

Depending on how long you want your banner to be will determine how many paper hearts you need to cut out. It also depends on how far you want them to be spaced apart too.

I didn’t measure mine or anything like that, I just kind of eyeballed it. Like I said, I wanted this to be a quick and easy DIY so no need to be precise!

Construct Your Banner

Once you’ve cut out your hearts then you’re going to want to lay out your banner and place the hearts on the twine how you want them to hang.

I attached the hearts with some cute mini clothespins I found at Joann’s. However, I noticed that Michaels has some fun Valentine’s Day themed clothespins this year as well.

I will link some below for you to take a look at. I used a mixture of black and white clothespins for this project.

You could also punch holes through the hearts and string them along the banner if you wanted to do that instead of using clothespins.

I just had some of those laying around from another project I did- my Vintage Valentine Banner that I hung on my hutch.

You can go check out how I made that banner too if you’re interested. I used these same little paper hearts for that project as well.

Close up view of Paper heart Banner
Here is a close up view of the banner.

Hang Up Your Banner

So the last step is pretty obvious, you gotta hang up your banner wherever you would like!

I made two small banners and I hung them on our open shelves in our dining room. I love the way they turned out.

It added just enough Valentine’s flair without overdoing it. I like the neutral look to this banner as well. I know you can just buy a cheap banner and hang it up, but I didn’t want a bright red and pink one.

I wanted something more vintage-inspired and neutral. My open shelves don’t have a lot of color to them either and I have a lot of vintage goodies styled on them so I wanted to keep that vibe going.

I just added a few subtle touches of red and pink without overdoing it.

Paper heart banner on open shelves
I love how it turned out on my open shelves in my dining room!

It’s funny how your style can change from year to year as well.

Last year, I was all about the hot pinks for Valentine’s Day and this year all I want is more subtle and neutral tones for it, especially in my dining room area.

I plan on incorporating these same paper hearts for my Valentine tablescape too this year!

DIY: Easy and Simple Paper Heart Banner
Pin for later!

I hope this simple DIY project is one that you will try out this holiday season. It would be the perfect project to make with your kids as well since it is very easy and quick.

Let me know if you make one too and where you decide to hang it. I would love to see it! Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful day!

This is adorable! I love the look of simple, homemade decorations for the various holidays and seasons of the year. That’s generally how we choose to celebrate around here. We don’t do Valentine’s Day (among other holidays) but you could easily change up the shape and make that work for a variety of different seasons and holidays!

Styling a decorative tray for fall doesn’t have to Styling a decorative tray for fall doesn’t have to be complicated. 🍂🕯️

One of my favorite fall decorating tips is to simply shop my own home first! I gather a few cozy pieces I already own, add a small pumpkin or seasonal accent, and always finish the look with one (or two 😉) Antique Candle Co. candles. Nothing makes a home feel more like cozy fall decor than the warm glow of candlelight and the scent of crisp autumn mornings.

If you’ve been looking for easy fall tray styling ideas or simple ways to make your home feel warm and inviting, this is such an effortless place to start. You don’t have to spend a fortune to create a beautiful, cozy space.

🍁 Antique Candle Co.‘s new fall candle testers are available now, so it’s the perfect way to discover your favorite fall scents before committing to a full-size candle!

Comment “CANDLES” below and I’ll send you the link! 🧡 And you better hurry, you only have until July 28th to get these fall candle testers ordered and then they are gone forever!

Y’all… I need some advice. 😅 Has anyone ever had t Y’all… I need some advice. 😅 Has anyone ever had their pinky toenail almost completely fall off for absolutely no reason?

Please tell me I’m not the only one! I’m only 33, but lately I cannot sleep to save my life. Between tossing, turning, and staring at the ceiling, my Kindle and a cup of tea have basically become my nightly routine.

I’ve also read that women with endometriosis may experience symptoms associated with perimenopause earlier than average, and honestly… as if endometriosis hasn’t put us through enough already. 😅

At this point, I’m about ready to start a Late Night Book Club for all the insomnia and perimenopause girlies because apparently none of us are sleeping anyway. 📚☕️😂
