The second I saw this black cat in the Target Hall The second I saw this black cat in the Target Halloween decor section, I knew exactly what I had to do… turn it into Charlie. 😹

Obviously, I couldn’t just leave this little black cat statue as-is when I have my very own fluffy tuxedo cat at home! So I grabbed some paint while I was at Target and came home for a little Halloween craft night with my very attentive supervisor. 😂

And when I say Charlie supervised… I mean she watched VERY closely to make sure I got her likeness just right. 👀

I used white paint to recreate her adorable tuxedo face, pink for her little nose, and green for her eyes. Her eyebrow whiskers came out slightly wonky, but honestly… hers are a little wonky in real life too, so we’re calling that accuracy. 😂

When the DIY cat statue was finally finished, Charlie inspected my work and… well… I’m not sure she was impressed. 😹
Obviously she knows she’s MUCH prettier in person, so her Target Halloween decor dupe simply wasn’t up to her standards.

But I think it turned out absolutely adorable! 🐈‍⬛🎃 This was such an easy and fun way to personalize inexpensive Halloween decor and make it look just like your own pet.
Now I need to know… would you paint one to look like your cat?! 👇🏻

🍎 Don’t let those fresh orchard apples go to waste 🍎 Don’t let those fresh orchard apples go to waste! Freeze them instead! 😉

Have you ever tried freezing fresh apple slices?! This is one of my favorite fall kitchen hacks, especially after a trip to the apple orchard! 🍏

Every fall, I come home with WAY more apples than we could possibly eat before they go bad 😂 So instead of letting them sit on the counter, I prep and freeze a big batch of apple slices to use all season long!

It takes a little extra time upfront, but having fresh apple slices ready in the freezer makes fall baking SO much easier. 🥧 You can grab exactly what you need whenever you’re craving apple pie, apple crisp, apple cobbler, apple bread, or any of your favorite cozy apple recipes!

Plus, it’s such an easy way to preserve those delicious fresh-picked apples from the orchard and enjoy them long after apple season is over. 🙌🏻🍎

Want to know how to freeze fresh apples the right way so they’re ready for all your fall baking?!

Comment “APPLES” below and I’ll send you my full step-by-step guide! 🍎❄️

And tell me, what’s the FIRST apple recipe you’d make with them?! 👇🏻

There’s just one tiny problem… I can’t dance to sa There’s just one tiny problem… I can’t dance to save my life, I’m not Mormon, I’m not a mom, and I’m pretty sure binge-watching every season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives does NOT count as an application. 🤣

But seriously… why do all the Mormon wives look SO cute in their matching sweat sets?! Like they just casually throw one on and look effortlessly put together.

Meanwhile, most sweat sets have me looking like an oversized pumpkin with a drawstring. 🎃😂

BUT THIS ONE?! 👏🏻

This Aerie sweat set might finally be my MomTok moment because I’m obsessed. It’s comfy, cute, and actually makes me feel put together while still basically wearing pajamas, which is exactly the kind of fashion I support. 😂

And obviously, the only appropriate activity while wearing it is binge-watching the new season of SLOMW. 👀

So… who else already blew through the entire season?! 😂 I need to know ALL your thoughts because I have opinions. Drop yours below! 👇🏻

POV: you made the cutest DIY Halloween decor witho POV: you made the cutest DIY Halloween decor without buying a single thing 👻📖

This is your reminder that fall decor doesn’t have to be expensive! Some of my favorite seasonal decorations are DIY projects made with supplies I already have at home, and this spooky cute DIY ghost banner might be one of my favorites yet.

I started by brewing about 4 bags of black tea and letting it cool. While the tea was cooling, I tore a few pages out of an old book I already had and placed them in a shallow baking dish with the tea. I let the pages soak for several hours to give them that perfectly aged, vintage look.

Once the tea-stained book pages were dry, I used a ghost-shaped cookie cutter to trace little ghosts onto each page. Then I cut them out, added tiny faces with a Sharpie, and attached them to twine using mini clothespins.

And that’s it! 👻

I hung my DIY ghost garland on the hutch in my dining room, and I think it adds the perfect amount of spooky cute Halloween decor without spending a bunch of money.

You could easily customize this budget-friendly fall DIY too! Instead of ghosts, try pumpkins, leaves, bats, or whatever shape fits your fall decor. The possibilities are endless!

Save this easy DIY Halloween decor idea for your next fall craft night, and tell me: would you make the ghosts or switch them out for another fall shape?!

If you have a major sweet tooth like me, you NEED If you have a major sweet tooth like me, you NEED to try this fun fall dessert idea! Instead of a traditional charcuterie board, load it up with all your favorite cookies, candies, chocolates, and seasonal treats for the ultimate fall dessert charcuterie board. 🍫🍬🍪

The best part?! It’s completely NO BAKE 🙌 Just grab your favorite fall and Halloween treats, arrange them on a board, and you have an easy dessert that looks like you put way more effort into it than you actually did. 😂

This would be SO cute for a Halloween party, fall girls’ night, Friendsgiving, movie night, or any fall get-together. 🎃👻 And you can easily customize it with whatever treats you love!

Honestly, I think dessert charcuterie boards might be better than regular charcuterie boards… but maybe that’s just my sweet tooth talking. 😆

Would you make a fall dessert board like this?! And more importantly… what treat are you grabbing FIRST?! 👇🏻

Come style my screened in porch for fall with me! Come style my screened in porch for fall with me! 🎃

Who says the front porch gets to have all the fun?! 😂 I spend WAY more time on our screened-in porch, so of course I had to give it a cozy little fall makeover too!

This bar cart is one of my favorite spots to decorate because it’s so easy to switch out with the seasons. A few pumpkins, some warm fall colors, and simple seasonal touches instantly make this space feel so much cozier for fall. 🍁

And since this is basically my favorite spot to enjoy my morning coffee, I want it to feel just as festive as the rest of our home!

Of course, the cats also think the pumpkins are here specifically for them to knock over. 😹 Apparently they have VERY strong opinions about my fall porch decor.

Are you decorating your outdoor spaces for fall too, or do you keep all the pumpkins inside?! 🎃

Easy Christmas Cookie Gift Idea (With Few Ingredients)

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

If you’re looking for an easy Christmas gift this holiday season, then be sure to check out this easy mason jar cookie recipe that you could easily use for Christmas presents too. I am all about easy Christmas cookie recipes, since I love to bake during the Christmas season. But, sometimes, I don’t feel like spending too much time in the kitchen. So I thought I would share this easy Christmas cookie gift idea that uses very few ingredients.

And I’m willing to be that you have all or most of these basic ingredients inside your pantry already! You can easily make these festive treats for yourself, or gift them like I am planning to do.

To gift them, I am using a 32 oz (quart sized) mason jar. If you don’t have any laying around, any kind of airtight container would work too. I pack in all the dry ingredients and then add in some cute details like ribbon and custom stickers. I also make a cute little recipe card to include in the gift as well.

If easy Christmas cookies and gifts are your jam too, then your definitely going to want to check this recipe out. I will share the full recipe below as well as detailed steps into creating the mason jar filled with the simple ingredients as well.

Mason Jar Christmas Cookie Mix
Look at this cute and festive sweet treat here!

Ingredients Needed for Easy Christmas Cookie Gift Idea:

2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1 cup of brown sugar, firmly packed

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 cup of granulated sugar

1- 1 1/2 cups of Christmas M&M’s (or Christmas sprinkles, chocolate chips, crushed candy canes, etc.)

Few Ingredients Needed for Easy Christmas Cookie Gift Idea
You can see just how few ingredients you need to create this Easy Christmas Cookie Gift Idea here.

How to Assemble the Mason Jar:

First, you need to mix together the flour, corn starch, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl until it is well combined. Then, you’re going to want to pour this mixture into the mason jar. You may want to use a funnel for this process. I didn’t and things got a little messy!

Adding Flour To Mason Jar
You can see just how much room the flour takes up before packing it down.

You will notice once you add the flour in, it takes up most of the mason jar. So, you need to use the back of a spoon and press down firmly until you have compacted it thoroughly. Also, try to create nice clean lines and scrape down any excess flour along the sides. You want each single layer to be nice and defined in the jar.

Packing Flour Down
After packing the flour down, you have much more room to add in the other simple ingredients as well.

Next up, is the brown sugar. Again, use the spoon to firmly press down the brown sugar into a clean, even line.

Adding Brown Sugar to Mason Jar
Before packing the brown sugar in.
Packing Brown Sugar Down
After packing the brown sugar in.

Top with the granulated sugar. And then add in the Christmas M&M’s (or whatever mix-in you are using) on top.

Adding Sugar to Mason Jar
Added the granulated sugar here.

Seal the lid and add in a bow to make it festive! These would be so cute for a Christmas party or cookie exchange as a sweet little hostess gift too!

Easy Christmas Cookie Gift Idea (With Few Ingredients)
Almost done with this easy Christmas cookie gift idea now!

I even took it a step further and created a custom sticker on top of the mason jar lid too. Using my Cricut Explore Air 2 machine, I just searched for Christmas cookie labels in Cricut design space. Once I found one I liked, I changed it to red (again, to make it more festive!) and then printed it out Cricut sticker paper.

I stuck it on the lid before screwing the top on, and it fit just like a glove! You could totally customize them too and make them say whatever you wanted.

Mason Jar Christmas Cookie Label
You may remember I created a very similar lid sticker when I made my homemade elderberry syrup recipe too!

Creating the Recipe Card:

Now that you have your easy Christmas cookie gift idea ready to go, now we need to create the recipe card! Because, how is the gift recipient going to know how to bake them without an easy holiday cookie recipe attached?!

Materials Needed for Christmas Cookie Recipe Cards
All the materials you need to create these cute recipe cards.

The person you are gifting this to will need to add in a few things of course. Especially since we can’t add in the butter already to the mason jar too. So they will need to add in: 12 tablespoons unsalted butter- melted and cooled to room temperature, 1 large egg, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

Making Recipe Cards
I stuck the sticker instructions on the card stock paper first and then cut them out.

Which, if you wanted to go all out for a Christmas cookie gift, you could totally make your own vanilla extract too. I shared that great recipe last year and it was a huge hit too! It would be a good idea to gift them together along with a cute cookie cutter too!

Finished Recipe Cards for Christmas Cookie Gift
Finished recipe cards to go along with the Christmas cookie gifts.

To create the recipe card, I again used Cricut sticker paper and typed it out in Cricut design space before printing. Here are the typed instructions I used for the card:

Other Ingredients to be Added:

12 T Unsalted butter, melted

1 Large Egg

1 t Vanilla Extract

Instructions for Baking:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Add cooled butter, egg, and vanilla extract to a mixing bowl and stir.

Then, add all the ingredients from the jar and mix well!

Drop onto ungreased cookie sheet and bake cookies for 9-11 minutes. Cool and enjoy the cookies!

After printing out the instructions on the sticker paper, I then attached them to pretty Christmas card stock. I will then add the recipe card in with the mason jar full of cookie mix when I am ready to gift them.

Gifting Your Easy Cookie Recipes

I am sure whoever you gift this to will love these easy cookies and appreciate the thoughtfulness behind it. I always love when I receive homemade cookies as a gift and this is a great way to do it without actually having to bake anything.

Plus, these cute and festive jars will definitely put you in the holiday spirit for sure! You could also make these for chocolate chip cookies, cake mix cookies, soft molasses cookies, or the classic sugar cookie too. Basically the possibilities are endless and you could make whatever you favorite Christmas cookie recipes are.

DIY Easy Christmas Cookie Gift Idea (With Few Ingredients)
Pin for Later!

And since you can easily change the recipe card to go along with this easy Christmas cookie gift idea, that makes it totally customizable. I tried to share one that had fewer ingredients to it, that way you didn’t have to put as much into the mason jar. I also tried to keep it easy with the simple steps and instructions too.

But, if you wanted to go all out, feel free to do so! Any kind of cookie is perfect for a holiday party in my opinion. Or it’s perfect for a fun, family night in too. I think one of the best things about actually baking cookies is sneaking a few bites of cookie dough out before actually baking them. But, don’t tell anyone that!

And if you’re looking for easy gingerbread cookies or the perfect sugar cookie, then be sure to check out my other post on the best Christmas cookies that I bake every single year! If you can’t already tell, we make lots of cookies around here during this time of year. I hope you all enjoyed this and have a very Merry Christmas my friends!

Minimal effort + maximum spooky cute. That’s my kind of Halloween baking! 👻
