I found these adorable vintage thermoses and loved them as-is… but then I had the idea to give them a spooky-cute Jack-o’-lantern makeover for Halloween! 🎃

I’ve been working on styling my fall coffee table centerpiece, but something just felt off. The bright greenery mixed with my fall decor wasn’t giving the cozy autumn vibe I was going for.

Then I spotted these adorable fall leaf bud vases from Target’s Hearth & Hand collection, and I knew they were exactly what my centerpiece needed. Swapping out the greenery for these warm autumn leaves made such a huge difference, and now my coffee table finally feels cozy and fall-ready!

I almost didn’t post this. After sharing all of ou I almost didn’t post this. After sharing all of our beach vacation content last week, it probably looked like we had the perfect trip. Smiles, sunsets, seafood, beach days, and we truly did make some amazing memories.
But social media rarely shows everything. What you didn’t see was my heart pounding every time I carried my beach bag down to the sand. Feeling so dizzy and nauseous that I had to run back to the condo just to throw up. Watching my heart rate skyrocket and my Apple Watch constantly sending high heart rate notifications, even while I was just sitting at dinner or relaxing on the couch. Imagine how high it gets when I’m actually doing something. You didn’t see my hands shaking so badly that putting on my makeup became a challenge.
Or the hours spent on the phone with doctors, insurance companies, and specialists trying to get referrals approved, MRIs scheduled, and answers that still haven’t come. After weeks of waiting, I finally got my brain, spine, and lower back MRIs scheduled, but they’re not until August 18. So now comes even more waiting and hoping for answers. 🙃
You didn’t see me checking my suitcase over and over, terrified I’d forget an important medication or something I might need while we were away.
And when we finally made it home? I ended up with what seemed like an allergic reaction, my right eye swelled shut, burned, and watered nonstop, my nose couldn’t decide if it wanted to be stuffed up or run like a faucet, and I topped it all off with a pounding migraine. This is the reality of living with an invisible illness.
You learn how to smile through the symptoms. You push through when you can. You rest when you have to. And you become really good at making things look “normal” even when your body is fighting you every step of the way. So if you’ve ever looked at someone’s vacation photos and thought they must have it all together, this is your reminder that you never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.
And to my sweet hubby, thank you for giving me grace, slowing down when I need to, carrying the things I can’t, and reminding me that making memories together is what matters most ♥️

Vintage Inspired Gift Wrapping

You know I love to put some time and effort into gift wrapping every year. And every year, I like for it to be a little different. So this year I came up with the idea of doing vintage inspired gift wrapping.

I found some pretty vintage lace ribbon on Amazon and I thought that would look so beautiful tied around my packages this year! The good news is that you can order everything I used online as well.

So if you like this look, then you can easily achieve it too! But I am going to show you just how easy and simple it is to create a beautiful wrapped present to place under your Christmas Tree this year!

Vintage inspired gift wrapping
Here is a preview of how my gifts are turning out this year!

This post contains affiliate links. Click here to read my disclosure policy.

Start With The Wrapping Paper

I always like to do just simple Kraft wrapping paper every year. But like I said above, I wanted to do something a tad bit different this year. So I found this cute 3 pack of kraft wrapping paper on Amazon as well and I knew it would be perfect.

It has subtle little prints of antlers, trees, and snowflakes but it still gives you that perfect neutral vibe like regular kraft paper does. And it is perfect for just Farmhouse Christmas decor too. Especially since it comes with a roll of antler prints too!

I love how versatile this wrapping paper can be! I looked all over at places like Target and Walmart this year, but I could not find any wrapping paper that really spoke to me.

Until I saw this one on Amazon! I knew it would look perfect under my tree this year.

Add In Some Vintage Lace Ribbon

Here is where I think you can see how my vintage inspired gift wrapping came to be. When I saw this set of vintage lace ribbon, I knew it would go perfectly with my wrapping paper.

And it definitely gives it that vintage feel that I was craving! It comes in both beige and white, but I got the beige color because I thought it would look better against the Kraft paper.

I thought the white would appear too stark.

I love how this pack comes with a variety of different laces and sizes. That way you can easily choose which piece would look better with each gift you are wrapping. I also found some colored vintage lace ribbon and I thought that would be fun to use as well.

That way I can add in some color! I thought it would be more red since that is my main color this year for Christmas. It is important to note, that it seems to be more of a burgundy color to me in person.

But, regardless it is still a very pretty ribbon and would look great underneath the tree!

I also had some leftover buffalo check ribbon from another project that I used for a few gifts as well. I like how they all don’t match perfectly, but each one goes very well together.

They all play off well from each other in my opinion. And it adds plenty of interest underneath the tree!

Make Handmade Gift Tags

If you have been around here long enough, then you know every year I love to make handmade gift tags. I also think this fits in the vintage inspired gift wrapping as well because who doesn’t love a good handmade item?!

It’s the perfect personalized touch for every gift! I like to again use Kraft colored gift tags to match the wrapping paper as well.

And then I like to use Christmas Stamps to stamp on the front of the tags. I will then add in a “To” and “From” on the back after they are dried as well.

I shared more about this process a couple of years ago when I was doing more of a Farmhouse Style Gift Wrapping too.

Finish Up Wrapping

I think these all make wonderful additions underneath your Christmas trees! I always like to stick with a theme for wrapping paper and I am loving how my theme turned out to be this year!

What do y’all think about it too?! Do you also like to stick with a certain theme when wrapping your gifts too?

If so, I would love to hear about it! I hope you enjoyed this idea of vintage inspired gift wrapping as much as I did!

Anyone else always miss the hair on their kneecaps Anyone else always miss the hair on their kneecaps no matter how carefully you shave?! 😂 Please tell me I’m not the only one!

I swear I can spend forever shaving my legs, think they’re perfectly smooth, and then the second I get out of the shower… boom. Hair still hanging out on my kneecaps. 🤦🏼‍♀️

At 33 years old, you’d think I’d have figured out how to shave my knees by now, but apparently not. 😂 Is there some secret shaving hack for smooth legs that everyone knows except me?!

Please tell me this is one of those universal girl problems and I’m not alone! Drop a 🙋🏼‍♀️ if your kneecaps somehow survive every shave. 😂

Little Miss Charlie was not impressed with those b Little Miss Charlie was not impressed with those bunnies hopping around her yard uninvited this weekend! 🐰😹

Watching my indoor cat go into full “hunter mode” over the rabbits outside the window had me laughing so hard! 😂 And can we talk about those little back leg kicks at the end? I lose it every single time! 🤣

Poor girl is so determined to catch those bunnies… even though she’s never actually hunted anything besides a toy mouse. 😜 We’ll let her keep believing she’s the fiercest little huntress on the block.

Tell me… does your cat chatter at birds, squirrels, or rabbits through the window too? 🐈
