Ingredients Needed For Apple Cider Cookies:
This recipe calls for very basic ingredients, all of which you probably already have on hand. The only thing you may need to grab is the apple cider.
And I already had some just sitting in the fridge, which is what originally inspired this recipe. I knew I needed to use it up and I knew I wanted some fall cookies, so viola! These apple cider cookies were made and devoured!

For The Cookies:
- 1 cup apple cider
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar gently packed
- 1 large egg
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon cream of tarter
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
For The Sugar Coating:
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon all spice
- 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

Make The Apple Cider Reduction:
The first thing you need to do before making these cookies, is to reduce the apple cider. To do that, add the cup of apple cider to a pot and let simmer until about 3 tablespoons of cider remains.
This should take about 20 minutes or so. Then, you need to let the reduction cool at least 15 minutes before adding it into the cookie dough.

How To Make Apple Cider Cookies:
Once you’ve made the apple cider reduction and let it cool, then you can start making the cookie dough. To start, preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Then, line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Y’all know I always love to use my Caraway Home Baking Sheets for this!
Using an electric mixer with the paddle attachment, beat the butter, sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy. About 2-3 minutes.

After that, beat in the egg and the cooled cider reduction. In a separate bowl, sift together the salt, flour, cream of tarter, and baking soda. Gradually beat into butter mixture.

In a small bowl, mix together all the coating ingredients and set aside. Scoop your cookie dough into 1 inch balls and then roll throughly in the sugar coating mixture.

Place cookie dough balls on prepared baking sheet, leaving room in between. These cookies do spread a little when baking. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until gold brown.

Then, let cookies cool on wire rack before enjoying. Store leftover cookie in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Enjoy Your Cookies!
I hope you guys enjoyed this easy apple cider cookie recipe. I know I did. My husband told me these may just be the best cookie I ever made and I just might agree with him.

Each bite is chewy, buttery perfection, and the sugar coating on top gives them the warmth and coziness of fall flavors. Honestly, you’ve got to try them! I know you won’t be disappointed!
