Don’t get me wrong, I love summer… but I wouldn’t complain if it was about 15 degrees cooler instead of feeling like we’re melting every day. 😂

I’m so ready for crisp fall mornings, cozy evenings, pumpkin everything, fall baking, candlelight, sweaters, and all the cozy autumn vibes. There’s just something magical about this season that makes home feel even cozier.

Some updates are harder to share than others. ❤️ Some updates are harder to share than others. ❤️

I’ve gone back and forth about posting this because I never want this page to become all about my health. I love sharing recipes, DIYs, home projects, gardening, and all the things that bring me joy. But I also want this space to be real, and right now, this is part of my reality.

I share more in the carousel, but after meeting with my primary care provider last week, I’ll now be having MRIs of both my brain and my spine/back to hopefully get closer to some answers. While Chiari malformation is still a possibility, my doctor also wants to rule out other neurological conditions, like Multiple Sclerosis. Hearing that was incredibly overwhelming, and if I’m being honest, this past week has been one of the hardest mentally.

The waiting is exhausting. Waiting for appointments, waiting for tests, waiting for results… it feels like my life has been on pause while I wait to find out what’s causing all of these symptoms.

I also wanted to remind everyone that social media is often a highlight reel. Most of the content you see from me was planned and scheduled on days when I felt well enough to create. What you don’t see are the tears, the fear, the doctor’s appointments, the nights spent worrying, or the mental toll that comes with living in the unknown.

If there’s one thing I hope you take away from this post, it’s this: please be kind. You never truly know what someone is carrying behind the scenes. Invisible illnesses are just that- invisible.

And if you’re walking through your own health journey right now, I want you to know you’re not alone. This community has been such a source of comfort for me, and I’m so thankful for every message, prayer, and encouraging word you’ve sent my way. They truly mean more than you know. ❤️

If you pray, I’d really appreciate your prayers as I move through this next round of testing. I’m holding onto hope that we’ll finally get some answers. 🤍

Y’all… I need some advice. 😅 Has anyone ever had t Y’all… I need some advice. 😅 Has anyone ever had their pinky toenail almost completely fall off for absolutely no reason?

Mine is literally hanging on by one tiny corner (like 90% detached 🤢), and I can’t decide if I should just pull it off or leave it alone. The problem is it hurts every time I put on socks or shoes because it keeps catching and tugging. 😩

This actually happened to me years ago after wearing cowboy booties in Nashville that rubbed my pinky toes raw, and I ended up losing both pinky toenails. They eventually grew back completely normal, so I’m so confused why it’s happening again.

I haven’t stubbed my toe, I haven’t had a pedicure in over 6 weeks, and I’ve mostly been living in sandals all summer with my usual tennis shoes. So what in the world would make a toenail suddenly start falling off? 🤷🏼‍♀️

Should I just go ahead and pull it off since it’s barely attached, or leave it alone and let it come off on its own? Tell me what you would do because I’m officially accepting all the toenail advice I can get. 😂

And at this point, I guess my body has decided to rebel from the top of my head all the way down to my toenails. 🫠🤣 #toes #toenails #pinkytoe #pinkytoes #toenail

One thing people don’t talk about enough is how ch One thing people don’t talk about enough is how chronic illness doesn’t just affect the person who’s diagnosed, it changes the lives of the people who love them, too. ❤️

Living with an invisible illness can feel incredibly isolating, but having a supportive spouse has made all the difference in my journey. Through countless doctor appointments, unanswered questions, difficult days, and moments when I’ve felt like giving up, my husband has been my biggest advocate, my safe place, and my constant source of strength.

I know not everyone has that kind of support, and my heart truly goes out to anyone navigating chronic illness on their own. No one should have to carry that weight by themselves.

To every caregiver, spouse, partner, family member, or friend who continues to show up with patience, compassion, and love; you matter more than you know. Thank you for making the hard days a little easier. 🤍

How To Dry Out Hydrangea Stems

I’ve been seeing some beautiful dried fall florals on Instagram and Pinterest this year and I’ve always been curious as to how to do them myself. I figured they would be too much work or would be too complicated, but in all honesty, it is super easy to do. I actually can’t believe I didn’t do it sooner! If you’re like me and you want to know how to dry out hydrangea stems, then keep on reading for this super simple and easy fall DIY project.

Dried Hydrangeas
Freshly cut hydrangeas are so beautiful!

When to Pick Hydrangea Stems

The time of the year is actually the most important factor when picking hydrangeas. You don’t want to pick them too early or too soon so timing is everything.

It’s also important to consider what type of hydrangeas you have as well. I have the limelight variety and after some research, I determined it was best to pick them around the very end of August.

Typically, the beginning of fall or very late summer seems to be the best time. But do your research first because depending on what type of hydrangea bush you have, it could be a different time.

Hydrangea Plant
Here is our little hydrangea bush.

Cutting the Hydrangea Stems

After I determined the right time of the year to cut them, I simply used some sharp shears and cut them at an angle. I then stripped them of all their leaves as well.

I tried to go around our bush and just choose a few here and there. Our hydrangea plant is still pretty young. My husband planted it early this summer so it isn’t very big, as you can see from the blooms.

Freshly Cut Hydrangea
Here is my freshly cut hydrangea stem.

I am hoping that in the years to come, it will grow even bigger and fuller! This was basically treated as a little experiment to see what would work and what wouldn’t for future reference.

I am sure drying out bigger hydrangea blooms will look even better once they have grown even more.

Stripping the leaves of hydrangea stem
Here’s the stem with all the leaves picked off.

Drying the Hydrangea Stems

Like I stated above, I treated this as an experiment because I wasn’t exactly sure what would be best for my hydrangeas. I read that you could dry them out in water and also without water so I wasn’t 100% sure what I should do.

So I thought why not do them both and see which one turns out better! I will say I enjoyed having freshly cut hydrangea stems in the water because I was able to enjoy them longer.

I simply put a small amount of water down in a vase and stuck the stems in there. Then, I then slowly let the water evaporate, which I think took about a total of one week.

After that, they were completely dried and ready to go. For the other set, I just placed freshly cut hydrangeas in a vase with no water and let them dry out naturally.

This process was quicker and only took a few days.

Hydrangea Bouquet
Look at this freshly cut bouquet!

Which Drying Out Method Is Better?

I will say that both these methods worked and each batch of hydrangea stems turned out beautifully. My personal preference though is to dry them out with absolutely no water.

Like I stated above, it’s not only quicker, but I think they may have turned out a little better too. The ones I let dry out in water seemed a tad bit more crinkly and weathered.

American-Farmhouse-Style

But in all honesty, I think it’s totally up to you and what you want to do. There are pros and cons to both ways and each way ended up with a pretty great result.

I think it is fun to experiment with things like this and that way you know from firsthand experience what will work out best for you next time.

Dried Hydrangea Stems
These are the stems I dried without and water and they turned out beautifully.

Conclusion

I am very happy with the end result to this project. I am planning on using these dried stems in my fall decor this year so I am very happy that they turned out well for me.

Since it was my very first time drying any kind of floral out, I am pleased with the result. Have y’all ever tried to dry out hydrangeas before too?

If so, let me know below and give me any tips or tricks you may have learned along the way too!

Loving the info you share! Thank you! Two years ago, I purchased freshly cut hydrangea stems from a farmer’s market. They told me they were ready to be dried & tied the long stems together with twine for hanging upside down. I took their advice & dried them upside down in my garage. After over a year of forgetting about them, they were still beautiful. They are brittle, so they do need to be handled gently. I cut off the flower heads & placed varied shades in a tall glass hurricane pillar. They look lovely!

Can you believe we’re only 6 weeks away from the ’ Can you believe we’re only 6 weeks away from the ’ber months?! 🍂 September, October, November, and December are hands-down my favorite time of year!

Who’s already counting down to fall 2026 with me? 🍁👇 Are you team summer or team ’ber months?

Before I can even think about swimsuits and cute o Before I can even think about swimsuits and cute outfits, I have to make sure every medication, supplement, electrolyte packet, and “just in case” item makes it into my bag. Then I mentally go through my checklist about 50 times before we leave because forgetting one thing could completely change the trip.

Traveling with a chronic illness definitely takes a little more planning, but it’s worth it to make the memories. 💛

Now if only I could get a vacation from all the vacation packing. 😂

Anyone else with a chronic illness feel like packing is the most stressful part of traveling? ✈️💊 Let me know I’m not alone!

Styling a decorative tray for fall doesn’t have to Styling a decorative tray for fall doesn’t have to be complicated. 🍂🕯️

One of my favorite fall decorating tips is to simply shop my own home first! I gather a few cozy pieces I already own, add a small pumpkin or seasonal accent, and always finish the look with one (or two 😉) Antique Candle Co. candles. Nothing makes a home feel more like cozy fall decor than the warm glow of candlelight and the scent of crisp autumn mornings.

If you’ve been looking for easy fall tray styling ideas or simple ways to make your home feel warm and inviting, this is such an effortless place to start. You don’t have to spend a fortune to create a beautiful, cozy space.

🍁 Antique Candle Co.‘s new fall candle testers are available now, so it’s the perfect way to discover your favorite fall scents before committing to a full-size candle!

Comment “CANDLES” below and I’ll send you the link! 🧡 And you better hurry, you only have until July 28th to get these fall candle testers ordered and then they are gone forever!

Save this post for your fall decorating inspiration and tag a friend who’s already counting down the days until cozy season! 🍂

POV: Your husband suddenly becomes a golf coach af POV: Your husband suddenly becomes a golf coach after playing a few rounds… 😂⛳️

My husband has been really into golf lately, which apparently means it’s now his mission to teach me how to play. The only problem? I’m not totally convinced he’s qualified for the job. 🤣

What do y’all think… should I trust his golf lessons or find a new coach? 😂

Then again, I probably shouldn’t be talking because I’m terrible at mini golf too. If I can’t even survive a game of putt-putt, I don’t know what chance I have on a real golf course. 😅

Tell me… is your spouse always trying to teach you their favorite hobby too, or is it just mine? ⛳️😂

Although… when you already deal with chronic GI issues every day, would you even notice the difference? 🤣

POV: It’s 2:37 a.m. and you’re playing everyone’s POV: It’s 2:37 a.m. and you’re playing everyone’s favorite game… “Is this insomnia or is this perimenopause?” 🙃😂

Please tell me I’m not the only one! I’m only 33, but lately I cannot sleep to save my life. Between tossing, turning, and staring at the ceiling, my Kindle and a cup of tea have basically become my nightly routine.

I’ve also read that women with endometriosis may experience symptoms associated with perimenopause earlier than average, and honestly… as if endometriosis hasn’t put us through enough already. 😅

At this point, I’m about ready to start a Late Night Book Club for all the insomnia and perimenopause girlies because apparently none of us are sleeping anyway. 📚☕️😂

So tell me… are you dealing with insomnia, perimenopause symptoms, endometriosis, or all of the above? And most importantly, what has actually helped you sleep? Drop your tips below because your girl is desperate. 💛

If you’re living with a chronic illness, tag someone who’s been there for you, or send this to the person who’s helped carry you through your hardest days. They deserve to know how much they’re appreciated.
