Being chronically ill means I’ve tried my fair share of medications over the years, and my body always seems to have a mind of its own. If a medicine is supposed to make people sleepy, I’ll be wide awake all night. If there’s a tiny chance of an adverse reaction, somehow I’m usually that tiny percentage. 😅

So starting a new medication is always a little nerve-wracking for me. Part of me is hopeful it’ll finally provide some relief, and the other part is preparing for whatever random side effect my body decides to throw my way.

POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month t POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month turned me into a full-time homebody 🤣

Honestly, staying home healing after surgery has taught me one thing… I never want to leave my house again 😂 Being cozy at home with my cats, resting, binge watching shows, and avoiding the outside world has been absolutely glorious. I truly understand the “stay at home cat mom” lifestyle now lol.

At this point, I have everything I need right here at home. Peace, comfy clothes, snacks, my pets, and zero social obligations 🤣 Meanwhile, every time I actually leave the house, I come back completely exhausted.

So the fact that I have to go back to work today after a month of recovery is honestly going to be SUCH a rough adjustment 😅 I’m not mentally prepared to rejoin society yet lol. Anyone else secretly love being home way too much?!

Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of going back to work while still recovering from surgery. Between the physical healing and the emotional side of post-surgery recovery, I’ve been feeling pretty down lately. So this comedy date night ended up being exactly what I needed.

We bought tickets to see @johnbcrist months ago, long before I had any idea I’d be spending a month on surgery leave. Turns out the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. This was our third time seeing him live, and he absolutely delivered. I laughed so hard that for a couple of hours, I completely forgot about returning to work, ongoing recovery, and all the stress waiting for me next week. 🤣

Before the show, we had dinner at @redgingerasianbistro and finished the night with dessert at @timesbarandcoffee which made the whole evening even better. Good food, lots of laughs, and quality time with my husband was exactly the distraction I needed.

Sometimes healing isn’t just about physical recovery. Sometimes it’s about finding little moments that remind you how good it feels to laugh again. ❤️

Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I have to chop onions because my eyes tear up so bad… 🤣

Ever since I had LASIK surgery a few years ago, chopping onions has been brutal on my eyes. I’m talking instant tears the second I start cutting them 😂 Apparently my eyes became extra sensitive afterward, and honestly it’s been a struggle ever since.

But then I heard about the “wear sunglasses while chopping onions” hack and y’all… why does it actually work?! 😅 So now anytime my hubby isn’t home to take over onion duty, you can catch me in the kitchen wearing sunglasses indoors looking ridiculous but tear-free 😎

If you’ve ever wondered how to stop crying while cutting onions, consider this your sign to try the sunglasses trick! It may look silly, but it seriously helps block those onion fumes from hitting your eyes 👏

Now I need to know… does anyone else have weird kitchen hacks like this? 😂 #kitchenhacks #cookinghacks #onionhack #cookinghack #onions
Y’all already know I’ve been on a serious freezer Y’all already know I’ve been on a serious freezer meal kick lately since I unfortunately have to go back to work next week 😭 And let me tell you… having a freezer stocked full of easy homemade dinners is about to save me on those busy weeknights!

One of my all-time favorite freezer meals is this homemade chicken pot pie recipe 🥧✨ It definitely takes a little extra work, especially if you make the homemade pie crust from scratch; but trust me, it is SO worth it. The creamy chicken filling, flaky buttery crust, and cozy comfort food vibes make it one of the best dinners ever.

Anytime I make homemade chicken pot pie, I always make two: one for dinner now and one freezer meal for later. And this time, I took my extra frozen chicken pot pie to my sweet mama after her surgery yesterday 💛 It’s honestly the perfect meal to bring someone recovering from surgery, welcoming a new baby, or just going through a hard season because all they have to do is pop it in the oven for an easy homemade comfort meal.

If you love easy freezer meals, homemade comfort food recipes, or make-ahead dinners for busy families, you definitely need to try this one!

I can’t believe it’s officially been one month sin I can’t believe it’s officially been one month since my endometriosis excision surgery. Honestly, I really thought by now I’d be coming on here saying I finally felt like myself again. I wanted this surgery to be the answer so badly. But the truth is… I’m still struggling every single day.

The lower back pain, hip pain, chronic fatigue, GI issues, insomnia, dizziness, and POTS-like symptoms are all still here. And while my surgeon was absolutely wonderful and removed the endometriosis she found, we’re now starting to realize there may be something more going on underneath it all.

Right now we’re exploring possibilities like EDS, MCAS, and POTS, which honestly feels overwhelming because getting doctors to truly listen and take women seriously can feel like a full time job in itself. I know so many women with chronic illness, endometriosis, and invisible illnesses understand exactly what I mean.

But even though I’m discouraged, I’m not giving up. I know my body, I know something still isn’t right, and I’ll continue advocating for myself until I get answers. And if sharing my story helps even one woman feel less alone in her own health journey, then it’s worth it 🤍 #chronicillnessawareness #chronicillnesswarrior #endometriosis #endometriosisexcision #chronicallyill

This easy slow cooker spaghetti sauce recipe is seriously my all-time favorite comfort food. There’s nothing better than a big plate of spaghetti with homemade meat sauce, especially when the crockpot does all the work for you! Just toss everything in, let it simmer low and slow all day, and your house smells AMAZING 🤤

One of the best parts? This recipe makes a huge batch, so I always freeze extra for easy weeknight dinners later on. Just thaw, heat, and dinner is basically done 🙌 Perfect for busy work weeks, meal prep, freezer cooking, and easy family dinners!

How to Add Hardware to an Entryway Table

Y’all know I have shared in abundance about our new entryway refresh this year. I’m sorry, I just can’t help it because I am so happy with how everything turned out. From installing our wall sconces, to now installing hardware to our entryway table, I’m just over the moon with the end results from it all! Today, I am going to be sharing with you all a quick and simple update. I will show you how to add hardware to an entryway table easily.

This is such a simple way to update or elevate a piece of furniture you may already have. Y’all know I’m in love with my entryway table already, but adding some hardware to it made me love it even more!

How To Add Hardware to an Entryway Table
I just love the gold finish to them!

Choose Your Hardware

So since we already had an entryway table, all we needed to do was to pick out some hardware. I ended up ordered ours from Amazon.

I looked at several different options and finally found a pack I liked the most. The hardest part was finding something that didn’t have several pieces to it.

Since our entryway table only had two drawers, I really only needed two pull handles. But I couldn’t find anything with just two alone, so I ended up settling for a five pack piece.

Which is fine because I am sure I can find a use for the other handle pulls. And it’s always good to have some extras too!

I wanted an antique gold finish to match the gold sconces we just installed above the table as well.

And I think these hit the nail on the head! It’s the exact shape and color that I wanted for this table!

Install Your Hardware into the Table

Now that you have picked out your hardware, it is time to install it into your table!

It can be a little intimidating to do, but I am here to show you just how easy and simple it can be! If you’re worried about placement, simply get some painters tape or putty and place it in the spot where you want to install your hardware.

Drilling Holes into Drawer
You can see the holes we drilled into the drawer here.

You can leave it on there a few days to make sure you like the location before actually drilling the hardware in. This would be especially important to do if you were planning on installing hardware into your kitchen cabinets.

Since this was just an entryway table, I wasn’t too concerned and didn’t bother with placing the hardware visually first with tape.

Adding Hardware to Drawer
Adding on the hardware here.

We simply just went for it and measured the spot directly in the center of the drawer. Then, my hubby drilled two holes in each drawer side for the handle pulls.

After that, he secured them into place my nailing the screw into the holes. And that was it! Super simple and easy.

Installing the Drawer with the New Hardware
Reinstalling the drawer with the newly fitted hardware now!

Enjoy Your New Hardware

This was a great way to elevate this entryway table and take it from mediocre to fabulous! The funny thing about this table was that it never came with any hardware on the drawers to begin with.

So I think that this simple change really took the entryway table to a whole other level, don’t you agree?

New Hardware
They just look so, so good!

I hope this showed you specifically how to add hardware to an entryway table and just how easy it is to do as well. Don’t be afraid to try something new like this!

Even if you mess up, worse case scenario, all you need is a little wood filler and paint/stain to re-do the spot! This is how you learn, just by doing simple and easy DIY projects like this to help your home become more of your own!

Have you ever had a random night out come at exactly the right time? #johncrist #johncristcomedy #comedyshow #datenightideas #asheville

So instead of using the actual truck bed for two 1 So instead of using the actual truck bed for two 12-foot trees, he somehow decides cramming them into my SUV is the better option 🤣 And I’m still shocked they even fit. Barely 😅

Meanwhile, his shiny new truck is sitting safe and spotless in the garage where not a single speck of dirt or potting soil can touch it 😂🚙

Tell me I’m not the only wife dealing with this kind of logic?! 🤦🏼‍♀️😂 #marriagehumor #povreels #funnymarriage #husbandwifecomedy #husbandwifejokes
