1. DIY Stock Tank Pool
My absolute favorite outdoor project we have ever done is our DIY Stock Tank Pool! I will say, this one is a little more work than the others, but totally worth it!
If you’re wanting to put in a pool in your backyard, but not wanting to spend all that money for an in-ground one, this post is for you! I spend so much time out here during the summer.
And since it is still early springtime, you have plenty of time to order the supplies and get the pool into shape by the summer!
And, don’t feel like you have to complete this project all in one sitting since it is a big one. This is a content work in progress for us.
It took us awhile to finish all the landscaping around the pool even after we installed it, so just take your time! We have had this pool for 3 years now and it looks better than ever!
It is definitely worth the investment and work putting it in! You will thank me when you’re laying out by your pool on a warm summer’s day!
2. Outdoor Dining Set Refresh
If you have an old outdoor dining set that is need of a refresher, then check this post out! I did this beautiful outdoor dining set refresh last year after my in-laws gave me their old set.
It had good bones to it, but I wanted it to match our style a little more for the screened in porch. I simply sanded it down and used my favorite paint, Fusion Mineral Paint, to give it some new life!
3. Bird Feeder Upgrade
Another one of my top outdoor projects to do this spring is this easy and simple bird feeder upgrade. Now, this is a project anyone can easily do. It doesn’t require much materials or effort at all.
We had a flimsy Shepards hook holding our bird feeder, and wanted to make it more sturdy. So we came up with this idea to make it more secure.
And not only is it more durable, but I think it looks much better too! Plus, you can stain it whatever color you want to match your house better too!
4. Painting Exterior Doors
If your exterior doors are in need of a little refresh, why not paint them?! That’s exactly what I did last spring and I am so happy with how they turned out.
I shared a full tutorial on how to paint exterior doors, and it’s definitely not as hard as you think it may be! And it made a huge transformation from what they used to look like, to what they look like now.
It is amazing what the power of paint can really do! I used my favorite Fusion Mineral Paint in the color Lichen as well. Be sure to go check it out if you want to do a little painting as an outdoor project this spring too!
5. Adding A Window Box For Curb Appeal
You may remember this post since I just shared it a few weeks ago. But in case you missed it, I wanted to highlight it again. If you’re looking to add instant curb appeal to your home, you should definitely install a window box!
Next to our stock tank pool, this is definitely another one of my favorite outdoor DIY projects to date! You know my hubby and I love the window boxes in Charleston, SC; so we were very inspired to create our own this year!
And I am so glad that we did. You just want to be careful when planting plants or flowers in the springtime. Make sure you are past your freezing mark for the year! I jumped the gun and planted these a little early in the season, and we have had a few frosts since then.
However, it wasn’t a huge deal because I just covered them up with some trash bags to protect them from the cold overnight. But, if you want to avoid dealing with this too, be sure to plant them in late springtime!
You could always go ahead and install the window box though ahead of time and plant your flowers later!
Enjoy The Outdoors!
I hope all these outdoor projects listed above inspire you and encourage you to do some DIY projects of your own. I have plenty more I could have shared, but I narrowed it down to my top 5 favorites for you.
Be sure to check out all my other DIY outdoor projects I have shared on my blog in the past too if you’re looking for even more ideas! Once the weather starts getting warmer, I just want to be outside as much as possible.
So if you’re like me, then I hope you can appreciate all these outdoor ideas! And I hope you all are having a fabulous start to your spring this year! I gotta say, I am getting the summer itch and I am ready to start laying out by the pool!
Although I am enjoying this beautiful spring season we are having first! Have a lovely day my friends and as usual, thanks so much for stopping by!

A window box is so cute! I think that’s a great way to spend spring, and also upgrading to a better bird feeder is always great. We usually get hummingbirds in the backyard, but we’ve been behind on putting up the feeder. Thanks for sharing!
Charity Gentry says
No problem at all! I like to put a hummingbird feeder on there too!

Your place is just incredible. So peaceful & beautiful 💜💜💜
Great ideas, and I like the idea of the pool. We should really paint the exterior of our house but it’d require someone to do it for us given the height and it just costs way too much. We did refresh the front door paint though and you’re right with how much difference even a that can make. xx
Charity Gentry says
Yes, just painting the doors can make a ton of difference for sure! And thank you so much! I appreciate your kind words!
