This past summer, we spent a total of two weeks in Myrtle Beach. Once in June and once in July. So I thought it would be fun to share all the things to do in Myrtle Beach for couples this week.
That way if you’re planning a trip, you will know just what to do! Myrtle Beach is a very family friendly place, but if you just want to go as a couple, there are still plenty of things to do.
And it makes for a very fun romantic getaway as well. Whether you’re going for a special occasion or just a good time, Myrtle Beach is a perfect place to visit.
We go there often since it is not too far of a drive from us. So keep on reading to see all the best things to do in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina!

βGolfing At The Beach
My husband is a big golfer so of course he loves to golf on his vacation. So if you are golf lovers, Myrtle Beach is the place for you!

There are several nice courses to choose from, and my husband has been to a lot of them so far. I’m not much of a golfer myself, but I do enjoy going with him and being a passenger princess in the golf cart!

I usually just bring my Kindle and read a good book while he plays. But, it’s always a fun time to spend together. He has been toΒ Myrtlewood Golf ClubΒ andΒ Pine Lakes Country Club, which is actually referred to as “The Granddaddy” since it is the oldest golf course in Myrtle Beach, opening in 1927!

And if actual golf isn’t your thing, there are plenty of mini golf courses around the Grand Strand to choose from too! And of course, there is a TopGolf too. You know if there is one in town, my hubby will wanna go to it! Just like we didΒ when we visited CharlotteΒ too!

Ripley’s Aquarium
If you think the aquarium is just for kids, you’re wrong! We had a great date night checking out the aquarium after dinner.

The aquarium is located at Broadway at the Beach, so there are a lot of restaurants and shops around the area.

So you can really make a whole day of it and spend a lot of time there. It’s definitely not as big as the Georgia Aquarium, you may remember me sharing all about that on our lastΒ trip to AtlantaΒ this summer.

But, it is worth checking out for sure.Β Ripley’s AquariumΒ is always a fun way to spend some quality time together. And, Ripley’s also has other attractions in the area too, such as Ripley’s Believe It Or Not and Ripley’s Crazy Golf to name a few.
Myrtle Beach Pelicans
Y’all know we love to watch baseball. Especially since we always go to Atlanta to watch The Braves play every year.

Well, this time yours truly got the unique experience of throwing out the first pitch at the Myrtle Beach Pelicans game!

I definitely never thought I would be the one to throw out a first pitch, but hey, I didn’t do too bad thankfully! And it was such a fun experience too.Β
Where To Stay In Myrtle Beach
We stayed at Hilton’s Ocean Enclave and I highly recommend! With great modern amenities and a nice clean room, we were very pleased.

We got one of the top floors, so our view was incredible. And it was half beach and half city views, which was super cool to see.

I always love watching the sunrise and especially when a storm rolls in from the balcony as well. Since we were so high up, we got to see some breathtaking ocean views of the Myrtle Beach coastline.

The pool area was really nice too. And we had very easy access to the beach. We will definitely stay here again!Β

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk
Our hotel was conveniently located right next to the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. So that was very cool to be able to walk to. We usually stay in North Myrtle Beach, and so we would have to drive to get there.

But since we were closer this time, we were able to check it out more. It’s a great place for a vibrant nightlife. They also have a big ferris wheel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean which offers some incredible views as well.Β

Places To Eat In Myrtle Beach
I shared a whole post on places to eat in Myrtle Beach a few years ago, so I won’t go into too much detail here. But, I will mention some of our favorites and places we go back to time and time again.
Oyster Rock
If you’re looking for a fine dining experience, then you definitely need to check out Oyster Rock. We go there every time we are in the Myrtle Beach area. It’s technically more so in Murrells Inlet, which is about a 30 minute drive.

But, I am telling you, it is so worth it! And while you’re there, you can check out the Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, which is full of other restaurants and little shops too.

The Oyster Rock also has a waterfront bar where you can order food and drinks while you wait on a table. If you can, I recommend getting there early or trying to get a reservation because there is always a wait.

But, it’s nice that they have that option where you can wait by the water and enjoy the view. It definitely makes for a perfect backdrop for a romantic evening together!Β
Bimini’s
This restaurant is consider some of the local favorites and it is kinda located in a hole in the wall place. But trust me, Bimini’s worth checking out too. And again get there early!

I don’t know if they take reservations or not, but we got there at 4:30 and the place was already packed. I always get their crab legs every time I go and they are so good! We’ve never had a bad meal there! You can’t beat their fresh seafood!

Lulu’s
If you know of Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville, then you need to know about his sister’s Lucy Buffet’s restaurant, Lulu’s.

The food here is incredible and I highly recommend their fish tacos. And you gotta get their bread pudding for dessert. Her husband invented Krispy Kreme doughnuts, so they make the bread pudding with Krispy Kreme doughnuts and it was probably the best bread pudding I’ve ever had.

They also offer live entertainment nightly with local musicians preforming live music. And the location for this restaurant is great too. Located in Barefoot Landing, there are plenty of other restaurants and shops around.

They also do firework shows every week too so that’s always fun to watch as well. And close to Barefoot Landing is Duplin Winery, where they do wine tastings every day. They also are located right next to Alligator Adventure, which is another fun attraction in Myrtle Beach.Β

Big Chill Island House
This was a brand new restaurant to me and I think it’s only been around for a couple of years. Just like Lulu’s, it’s located at Barefoot Landing.

Big Chill Island House has a beautiful rooftop area where you can dine and enjoy the sunset. I highly recommend this place for the views alone.

You can watch the sunset cruise and the dolphin cruise boats going out on the intercoastal waterway. It’s one of the best ways to watch the sunset.

And they have a cool tradition where they celebrate the sunset and toast to life every night by ringing the bell on the top deck.

And again, yours truly got to ring the bell and celebrate the evening so that was a ton of fun. It was also our very last night there, so it was the perfect way to end the vacation week. You can’t ask for a better way to end a trip with a delicious meal and a beautiful sunset.Β
MiyabiΒ
Miyabi is one of our go-to’s every time we are down there. If you love hibachi like we do, you gotta go here. They cook in front of you and the food is incredible.

I always enjoy the chef’s live performances when cooking the meal. And it’s always on point! Plus, we always leftovers for lunch the next day too which is nice!Β
The Chicken Joint
We tried this cute little place for the first time on our way into Myrtle Beach and it was the perfect lunch spot! Their fried chicken and pimento cheese sandwich was my favorite.

And they let us try several of their side dishes too. Everything was delicious and it’s a small, family owned business so I always love to support places like that! If you’re in the area, you should definitely try The Chicken Joint out!Β
