I almost didn’t post this. After sharing all of ou I almost didn’t post this. After sharing all of our beach vacation content last week, it probably looked like we had the perfect trip. Smiles, sunsets, seafood, beach days, and we truly did make some amazing memories.
But social media rarely shows everything. What you didn’t see was my heart pounding every time I carried my beach bag down to the sand. Feeling so dizzy and nauseous that I had to run back to the condo just to throw up. Watching my heart rate skyrocket and my Apple Watch constantly sending high heart rate notifications, even while I was just sitting at dinner or relaxing on the couch. Imagine how high it gets when I’m actually doing something. You didn’t see my hands shaking so badly that putting on my makeup became a challenge.
Or the hours spent on the phone with doctors, insurance companies, and specialists trying to get referrals approved, MRIs scheduled, and answers that still haven’t come. After weeks of waiting, I finally got my brain, spine, and lower back MRIs scheduled, but they’re not until August 18. So now comes even more waiting and hoping for answers. 🙃
You didn’t see me checking my suitcase over and over, terrified I’d forget an important medication or something I might need while we were away.
And when we finally made it home? I ended up with what seemed like an allergic reaction, my right eye swelled shut, burned, and watered nonstop, my nose couldn’t decide if it wanted to be stuffed up or run like a faucet, and I topped it all off with a pounding migraine. This is the reality of living with an invisible illness.
You learn how to smile through the symptoms. You push through when you can. You rest when you have to. And you become really good at making things look “normal” even when your body is fighting you every step of the way. So if you’ve ever looked at someone’s vacation photos and thought they must have it all together, this is your reminder that you never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes.
And to my sweet hubby, thank you for giving me grace, slowing down when I need to, carrying the things I can’t, and reminding me that making memories together is what matters most ♥️

Is anyone else’s robot vacuum constantly getting l Is anyone else’s robot vacuum constantly getting lost or dying in the most random places? 😂 Mine literally only had to move TWO more feet to reach its charging dock, but instead it just gave up. Like… buddy, you were so close! 🤣

I also find it trapped under beds, cabinets, and furniture more often than I find it actually cleaning the house. At this point, I spend more time searching for my robot vacuum than I would if I just grabbed the regular vacuum myself. 😂

I know robot vacuums are supposed to make cleaning easier, but sometimes they create their own little adventures instead. Please tell me I’m not the only one! Does your robot vacuum have a mind of its own too, or is mine just extra dramatic? 🤣

Except “chance of rain” turned into a full-on monsoon. 🌧️💀

There I was… the golf cart passenger princess, completely soaked from every direction while my husband happily kept golfing. Because golf consumes every thought he has and he has also been obsessed with watching The Hawk on Netflix the entire duration of our vacation so far 🤣

Turns out I love the cute golf outfits (shoutout to @altardstate for this cute fit find!) and don’t mind riding along with a good book… but becoming one with the rain? Hard pass. 😩

At least we got a few good laughs before the downpour! Now I’m manifesting sunshine for the rest of vacation because I’d much rather be by the pool than back on the golf course. 😂

Small Shops to Support Right Now

So during these scary and uncertain times, I figured I could lift up a few small businesses that I have had the pleasure of meeting on Instagram. Most of these companies I have actually worked with in the past (or I am still currently with) so I know their quality of products are so amazing.

Even though their actual shops may be closed and their vendor events cancelled, you can still support them by ordering online.

And even if you can’t afford to order anything right now (which I totally get because I am on a tight budget right now too due to being out of work unfortunately), just give them a follow on Instagram! Or like and comment on a few of their photos.

Or if they have a blog on their website too, then subscribe! All of these little things make a huge difference for a small company so I am all about doing every little thing that I can to help support them during these scary times!

Farmhouse Style Signs

Ebenezer Market

Y’all have heard me mention this amazing company time and time again and that is just because I love their handmade signs so much! They are currently offering 30% off storewide and they are now selling gift cards too!

Go check out Ebenezer Market today and I know you will fall in love with them too, just like I did!

The Creative Farmhouse

I just love all of The Creative Farmhouse signs too! They even offer custom signs, which would be such a great gift idea! I shared a lot more about them in one of my older blog posts, which you can check out here if you missed it. Just look at all of their beautiful signs I have styled in my home right now below:

Modern Forestry

You know I have mentioned Modern Forestry time and time again too. That’s because I just love their candles so much and I love being able to work with them!

I talked much more about them in one of my older blog posts (which you can see here if you’re interested) but they are also having a great sale right now too. FREE SHIPPING on orders of $30 or more! I don’t know about you, but free shipping gets me every time.

Other Home Decor Small Shops

Honey Brook

Real Honey Brook is another small shop that I love! She makes the cutest little home decor items that are perfect to put on tiered trays or displays.

She also loves to antique hunt and she has a few antiques available in her shop too so definitely go check her out! And for a few days only, some of her spring decor is 50% off too! Such an amazing deal!

Anna Phillips Designs

I discovered Anna Phillips Designs through the Vintage Pickin event I went to a few weeks ago. She makes the most adorable home decor items and she even put some of her bunnies and the bunny garland I have online as well so you can order you one too!

She also makes beautiful handmade jewelry that you can see on her online shop too.

Bunny Pillow and Garland
Look at how adorable that bunny pillow and bunny garland are!

Grimms Gardens

I just heard of this new to me small shop called Grimms Gardens and this is such a cool business because not only are they family owned, but they will literally ship plants right to your door!

How awesome is that?! I may have to utilize them very soon because I am dying for some plants on my porch and I can’t go out and buy any. So this is perfect time to support this small shop!

Small Shops to Support Right Now
Pin for later!

Well, I could go on and on about so many small businesses right now, but I think I have given you a good starter list to go by. Maybe I will update this list in the coming days too with more shops that I stumble upon, so be sure to keep checking back here.

And I hope we can all try to support our local small business and small shops right now. During this stressful time they need our support now more than ever!

This is a very important time to support small businesses. Some are not as fortunate to have some money in savings to keep the business going. It can be hard for all of us because in order to get paid, we need to work, but that may not be possible if we are labeled as a non-essential worker.

Leaving the beach is always the hardest part of an Leaving the beach is always the hardest part of any beach vacation. As much as I’ve loved every minute of soaking up the sun, watching the waves, and making memories, I’m officially ready to head home.

Mostly because I can’t wait to see my little fur babies! 🐈💕 I’m counting down the minutes until I can cuddle them on the couch and unwind after an amazing week away.

Vacations are wonderful, but there’s just something special about walking back through your own front door. 🏡✨

So tell me… are you the type who wishes vacation could last forever, or do you always end up a little homesick and ready to get back home?

Fall is hands-down my favorite season, and I am so ready for all the cozy fall vibes.

The forecast said cloudy with a chance of rain on The forecast said cloudy with a chance of rain on our first day of vacation, so I figured, “Why get all set up on the beach if we’re just going to get rained out?” Seemed like a solid plan…

Tell me… are you Team Golf ⛳️ or Team Pool? 🏖️👇

POV: You planned your beach vacation during Shark POV: You planned your beach vacation during Shark Week because obviously all the sharks are busy filming TV. 😂🦈

In case you didn’t know… Shark Week is the safest week to go to the beach because all the sharks are away on TV right now, so there’s absolutely no chance of getting bitten. (Don’t fact-check me. 🤣)

Looks like we accidentally picked the perfect week to visit Dirty Myrtle! 🌊☀️

Who’s heading to Myrtle Beach this summer? And be honest… are you team “I’ll still get in the ocean” or team “I’ll admire it from the sand”? 😂
