Well, guess who caused a little neighborhood excit Well, guess who caused a little neighborhood excitement this morning and had to call 911?! 🙋🏻‍♀️😅

It all started when our carbon monoxide detector kept going off. Naturally, I tried replacing the battery first, but that didn’t help. 🙃

So there I was, frantically trying to get ahold of my husband, who OF COURSE was in a meeting and couldn’t answer, while simultaneously trying to round up all three cats and get everyone outside. 😹

And what does any responsible 33-year-old adult woman do in a situation like this?! CALL HER MOM. 🤣

Literally called my mom to ask if I should call 911 because apparently I still need adult supervision when it comes to adulting. 😂

Well, the fire department showed up, checked everything out, and THANKFULLY there was no carbon monoxide leak! 🙌🏻

Turns out our carbon monoxide alarm was just old and needed replacing. It was over five years old! 🙃

So now I feel a little ridiculous for causing such a commotion, but better safe than sorry, right?!

AND in my defense, our gas fireplace hasn’t been working, and my husband was messing with it last night. So naturally, my mind went straight to a possible gas leak. 😬

Thankfully, everyone is safe, the cats are probably traumatized from their unexpected evacuation, and I’ve officially had enough excitement for one morning. 🤣

So here’s your friendly reminder to check your carbon monoxide detectors, replace them according to the manufacturer’s recommendations, and NEVER ignore an alarm! 🚨

And if you’re one of my neighbors, sorry about all the fire trucks and sirens this morning. Just your local neighborhood drama queen keeping things interesting! 😜

Please tell me I’m not the only grown adult who still calls their mom when something goes wrong?! 🤣👇

Also, shoutout to the fire department for being so nice and telling me I did the right thing by calling. That made me feel slightly less ridiculous at least 😜

Sorry, but staying home with my cats, reading a good book, and being cozy sounds WAY better than having plans. 📚🐈

You may remember I turned some of the shells into cute little ghosts for Halloween too 👻 But now we’re officially moving on to Christmas crafts!

And I am obsessed with how these turned out! All I needed was some spray paint, pretty wrapping paper, Mod Podge, twine, and hot glue to transform ordinary oyster shells into high-end looking coastal Christmas ornaments.

How to Make a Fall Wreath Out of An Antique Frame

I recently got this beautiful, gold antique frame from a small shop. But, it did have some damage to the lower end of it. So I thought I would fix it by creating a fall wreath out of the frame. Thus creating a beautiful fall antique frame wreath.

If you’re looking for a simple and cheap fall wreath idea, then this is it! It only took a handful of materials and literally only like twenty minutes to complete.

And you know me, I love anything vintage and antique. So this kind of DIY fall decor is right up my alley! And hopefully it is for you too!

Antique Frame Wreath

Finding an Antique Frame

Obviously to make a fall antique frame wreath, you need an antique frame! Like I said above, I found mine at a small shop. I have mentioned this shop several times before in previous blog posts (see my favorite small shops), but I did get it from the one and only Honeybrook Shop.

I was a little worried ordering it online seeing as how I didn’t know what the size would be exactly once I got in my hands. Would it be too big or too small for this idea that I had? But, I figured I’d take a chance and order it.

It really was the exact kind of frame I had envisioned for this piece. I wanted an oval one with gold accents and that is exactly what I got!

Antique Frame Used For Fall Wreath
Look at this beauty! But like I mentioned above, you can definitely see the damage to it at the bottom. But no worries, we are going to fix that right up!

Another cool thing to note about this beautiful antique frame is that it was actually from a historic home in Burlington County, New Jersey. I love it when I can get pieces with a backstory like that!

Picking Out Pieces For The Wreath

The next step in creating this fall antique frame wreath, is to just find some pieces to go on it. I took a trip to Hobby Lobby and didn’t really have anything in mind for it specifically, just started roaming the aisles. As one does when they are looking for a little bit of inspiration!

I came across some mini faux leather pumpkins and knew they would add the perfect touch to the fall wreath. I love the texture that it adds to the piece.

Then I found some mini acorns and pinecones as well as some cotton picks. Keeping very on trend with the fall theme here.

Materials Needed for Antique Frame Fall Wreath
Everything I needed to get started!

I also found some faux corn husks which I originally thought would look cool. However, after playing around with the placement of everything, I ultimately decided that they covered up too much of the antique frame.

My goal here wasn’t to cover up this beauty, but simply hide the damage with a few fall touches. So I think I will just save those for another fall project instead!

Laying Out Placement For The Wreath
You can see here what I mean about the corn husks; it just covers up too much!

Apply All The Pieces To The Antique Frame

Now that I have all my pieces picked out for my fall antique frame wreath, I just need to adhere them to the frame. To do this, I simply used a mini hot glue gun.

I just dabbed a dot of glue to the backside of the piece I was using and stuck it on the frame. I didn’t put too much on it because I didn’t want a lot of hot glue seeping through the frame.

Hot Glueing Pieces to Antique Frame Wreath
Hot gluing an acorn to the frame!

And that’s literally it! See how easy that is?! It really took me less than twenty minutes to create and I absolutely love how it turned out. So cute and simple! It is the perfect DIY fall frame wreath.

Almost Finished Antique Frame Wreath

And the best part is, you can have complete control if you want to create something similar to this. You could use a square, rectangular, or oval frame like I did. Or you could use a regular picture frame you have laying around your house and not a fall one.

You can definitely choose different colors of pumpkins or acorns and add in maybe some faux fall leaves instead. Basically, the possibilities are endless and it doesn’t cost much at all to create!

I created a shopping list for you using all the materials I used here for this project to make it easy for you to create at home yourself as well!

Let me know if you try to recreate this yourself and how it went for you too!

Apparently being a homebody is a personality trait Apparently being a homebody is a personality trait now… and I’m fully embracing it. 😂

Sorry, but staying home with my cats, reading a good book, and being cozy sounds WAY better than having plans. 📚🐈

Don’t get me wrong, you might catch me out and about every once in a while… but just know I’ll need approximately 2–3 business days at home afterward to recover from all that socializing. 🤣

At this point, my ideal weekend is canceled plans, comfy clothes, a good book, and my cats nearby. Homebody life just suits me. 👏🏻

Please tell me I’m not alone! Where are all my fellow introverts, homebodies, book lovers, and cat moms?! 👇🏻

Too early to start Christmas crafting?! I think no Too early to start Christmas crafting?! I think not! 😜🎄

I had some extra oyster shells left over from our beach trip this summer, so instead of letting them sit around, I turned them into these DIY oyster shell Christmas ornaments!

Not only are these such a pretty addition to your Christmas tree, but they’re also a sweet vacation keepsake! Every year when you pull them out, you’ll have a little reminder of that summer beach trip. 🥹

I always decorate my Christmas tree with gold, so these are going to fit in perfectly with my Christmas decor this year! 🎄

Save this easy DIY Christmas ornament idea for your holiday crafting list!

Would you turn your vacation seashells into Christmas ornaments too?! 🦪

We had the BEST time this weekend at the Carolina We had the BEST time this weekend at the Carolina Charm event at @therevelry_clt benefiting the Isabella Santos Foundation! 💕

From the beautiful venue to the amazing food, drinks, and atmosphere, everything about this night was incredible! And getting to meet @relationshep and @salleycarson from Bravo’s Southern Charm was just the cherry on top! 🍒

Y’all already know how obsessed I am with Charleston and Southern Charm, so this event was basically MADE for me! 🤣 Plus, any excuse to get all dressed up, feel fancy, and enjoy a night out for a great cause? Count me in! 🥂

And the best part was knowing that all the fun was supporting the @isftorch and its mission to help children battling rare pediatric cancers. 💛

At this point, I’ve pretty much met the entire Southern Charm cast except Austen and Madison! So if y’all are reading this, I guess you’re next on my list! 🤣👏🏻

Now I need to know… are you a Southern Charm fan too?! And if so, who’s your favorite cast member?! 👀

Things we’re ghosting this season: waiting until N Things we’re ghosting this season: waiting until November 1st to decorate for Christmas. 🤣

Sorry, but some of us have approximately 57 Christmas trees to put up, and that kind of commitment takes TIME. 😜🎄

And if you think I’m waiting until Halloween is over to start decorating for Christmas, you’ve got another thing coming. 🤣 I may or may not already have a few trees up around the house. 🤫

Listen, I love spooky season just as much as the next person, but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having pumpkins AND Christmas trees out at the same time. It’s called balance, okay?! 👻🎄

So consider waiting until November to decorate for Christmas officially GHOSTED. ✌🏻

Now tell me, are you team Christmas decorating in October or team wait until after Thanksgiving?! 👀
