But can we talk about how hard it is to make frien But can we talk about how hard it is to make friends in your 30s?! Is anyone else struggling with adult friendships, or is it just me?

Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

So if you’re also navigating social anxiety, an expired social battery, awkward small talk, and the challenge of making friends as an adult... welcome. You’re my people.

At least in my head, I’m the life of the party. 🎉🤣 #neurodivergent #neurodivergentsupport #socialanxietymemes #adultfriendships #socialbattery
POV: You survived your first full week back at wor POV: You survived your first full week back at work after endometriosis excision surgery… and this is what recovery really looks like. 😂

I officially made it through my first full week back to work after a month-long surgery leave, and whew… the post-op fatigue is NO joke.

Every evening has looked pretty much the same: clock out, soak my aching body in a scorching hot bath, grab my heating pad, put on my weighted eye mask, and immediately take a cat nap before I can even think about making dinner or doing anything around the house. 😴

I knew recovering from endometriosis excision surgery would take time, but I didn’t expect the exhaustion to hit this hard after returning to work. My body is definitely reminding me that healing isn’t always a straight line.

Right now, this little recovery routine is getting me through:
💛 Hot bath
💛 Heating pad on full blast
💛 Weighted eye mask (shoutout to @nodpodofficial)
💛 Emergency evening nap

Thankfully, it’s finally the weekend, and I can focus on resting and recharging before doing it all over again next week.

If you’ve had endometriosis excision surgery, how long did the fatigue last for you after returning to work? Please tell me this part doesn’t last forever! 😂👇

Whenever I have a bad day at work, I remind myself that I need that paycheck so my cats can stay home all day, nap in peace, eat snacks, and live their best spoiled-cat lives. 😂

This first week back at work has been ROUGH, y’all. I miss being home with my fur babies more than anything. Honestly, I think my true calling in life is being a stay-at-home cat mom. 🐾

But unfortunately, someone has to pay for the treats, toys, fancy food, and all the other necessities required to maintain this luxury cat lifestyle. And that someone is me. 😅

The funniest part? I don’t even think little Miss Riley misses me. As long as the food bowl stays full and the treats keep coming, she’s perfectly content living her best life while I’m out here working my butt off. 🤣

Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Goo Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Google every possible side effect before starting a new medication? Because I swear if there’s a rare reaction listed, somehow I’m the lucky winner. 🤣

Being chronically ill means I’ve tried my fair share of medications over the years, and my body always seems to have a mind of its own. If a medicine is supposed to make people sleepy, I’ll be wide awake all night. If there’s a tiny chance of an adverse reaction, somehow I’m usually that tiny percentage. 😅

So starting a new medication is always a little nerve-wracking for me. Part of me is hopeful it’ll finally provide some relief, and the other part is preparing for whatever random side effect my body decides to throw my way.

Here’s hoping this one actually helps my symptoms without adding a whole new list of problems. 🤞😂

Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙 There’s Vintage Americana decor has my heart ❤️🤍💙

There’s just something about decorating with old red, white, and blue treasures that makes a home feel extra cozy for summer. I love styling my dining room shelves with vintage Americana pieces, antique finds, and patriotic decor that can stay up from Memorial Day all the way through the Fourth of July and beyond!

Give me all the weathered flags, vintage crocks, old books, and classic Americana touches. 🇺🇸

I know some people pack away their patriotic decorations after July 4th, but I love leaving my summer patriotic decor out all season long. It just feels timeless to me!

Honestly, staying home healing after surgery has taught me one thing… I never want to leave my house again 😂 Being cozy at home with my cats, resting, binge watching shows, and avoiding the outside world has been absolutely glorious. I truly understand the “stay at home cat mom” lifestyle now lol.

At this point, I have everything I need right here at home. Peace, comfy clothes, snacks, my pets, and zero social obligations 🤣 Meanwhile, every time I actually leave the house, I come back completely exhausted.

So the fact that I have to go back to work today after a month of recovery is honestly going to be SUCH a rough adjustment 😅 I’m not mentally prepared to rejoin society yet lol. Anyone else secretly love being home way too much?!

Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of Honestly, I’ve been struggling with the thought of going back to work while still recovering from surgery. Between the physical healing and the emotional side of post-surgery recovery, I’ve been feeling pretty down lately. So this comedy date night ended up being exactly what I needed.

We bought tickets to see @johnbcrist months ago, long before I had any idea I’d be spending a month on surgery leave. Turns out the timing couldn’t have been more perfect. This was our third time seeing him live, and he absolutely delivered. I laughed so hard that for a couple of hours, I completely forgot about returning to work, ongoing recovery, and all the stress waiting for me next week. 🤣

Before the show, we had dinner at @redgingerasianbistro and finished the night with dessert at @timesbarandcoffee which made the whole evening even better. Good food, lots of laughs, and quality time with my husband was exactly the distraction I needed.

Sometimes healing isn’t just about physical recovery. Sometimes it’s about finding little moments that remind you how good it feels to laugh again. ❤️

Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I Not me having to put on my sunglasses every time I have to chop onions because my eyes tear up so bad… 🤣

Ever since I had LASIK surgery a few years ago, chopping onions has been brutal on my eyes. I’m talking instant tears the second I start cutting them 😂 Apparently my eyes became extra sensitive afterward, and honestly it’s been a struggle ever since.

But then I heard about the “wear sunglasses while chopping onions” hack and y’all… why does it actually work?! 😅 So now anytime my hubby isn’t home to take over onion duty, you can catch me in the kitchen wearing sunglasses indoors looking ridiculous but tear-free 😎

If you’ve ever wondered how to stop crying while cutting onions, consider this your sign to try the sunglasses trick! It may look silly, but it seriously helps block those onion fumes from hitting your eyes 👏

Now I need to know… does anyone else have weird kitchen hacks like this? 😂 #kitchenhacks #cookinghacks #onionhack #cookinghack #onions
Y’all already know I’ve been on a serious freezer Y’all already know I’ve been on a serious freezer meal kick lately since I unfortunately have to go back to work next week 😭 And let me tell you… having a freezer stocked full of easy homemade dinners is about to save me on those busy weeknights!

One of my all-time favorite freezer meals is this homemade chicken pot pie recipe 🥧✨ It definitely takes a little extra work, especially if you make the homemade pie crust from scratch; but trust me, it is SO worth it. The creamy chicken filling, flaky buttery crust, and cozy comfort food vibes make it one of the best dinners ever.

Anytime I make homemade chicken pot pie, I always make two: one for dinner now and one freezer meal for later. And this time, I took my extra frozen chicken pot pie to my sweet mama after her surgery yesterday 💛 It’s honestly the perfect meal to bring someone recovering from surgery, welcoming a new baby, or just going through a hard season because all they have to do is pop it in the oven for an easy homemade comfort meal.

If you love easy freezer meals, homemade comfort food recipes, or make-ahead dinners for busy families, you definitely need to try this one!

I can’t believe it’s officially been one month sin I can’t believe it’s officially been one month since my endometriosis excision surgery. Honestly, I really thought by now I’d be coming on here saying I finally felt like myself again. I wanted this surgery to be the answer so badly. But the truth is… I’m still struggling every single day.

The lower back pain, hip pain, chronic fatigue, GI issues, insomnia, dizziness, and POTS-like symptoms are all still here. And while my surgeon was absolutely wonderful and removed the endometriosis she found, we’re now starting to realize there may be something more going on underneath it all.

Right now we’re exploring possibilities like EDS, MCAS, and POTS, which honestly feels overwhelming because getting doctors to truly listen and take women seriously can feel like a full time job in itself. I know so many women with chronic illness, endometriosis, and invisible illnesses understand exactly what I mean.

But even though I’m discouraged, I’m not giving up. I know my body, I know something still isn’t right, and I’ll continue advocating for myself until I get answers. And if sharing my story helps even one woman feel less alone in her own health journey, then it’s worth it 🤍 #chronicillnessawareness #chronicillnesswarrior #endometriosis #endometriosisexcision #chronicallyill

Fall Home Tour 2022

I thought I better give y’all a fall home tour post, before I start tearing everything down and decorating for Christmas! Because, if you know me, then you know I love to start decorating early.

There’s just not enough time in the season to enjoy that magical glow, so I try to enjoy it as long as possible. But anyway, I wanted to let my fall home decor have a moment too. Because I really do love it as well!

All the rich, warm tones of fall makes my home just feel so cozy. And I haven’t done a fall home tour post since 2020, so I figured I’m a little overdue for one!

Fall Front Porch

Starting off the fall home tour will be my front porch! Y’all know I absolutely love to decorate with mums and pumpkins. And this year was no different!

Fall Front Porch

I won’t go into too much detail here, because I shared all my tips and tricks for decorating a fall porch last year. And nothing much has changed since that!

Side View of Fall Front Porch Steps
Pumpkins Close Up
Pumpkins on Steps

I was surprised that my ferns from the summer and plants in my vintage crocks were still thriving while I was decorating the porch for fall. So I figured I could just leave them there and let them continue to shine!

I also still have my easy pumpkin topiaries still on display that I made last year too. They have held up really well for a cheap little fall craft project!

Fall Vintage Market Signs

Another one of my DIY projects from last year, these vintage inspired market signs, are still a staple in my outdoor fall decor too. The corn one goes perfectly with my little Indian corn in my antique box as well!

Fall Living Room

Next up on the fall home tour is my living room with all the cozy fall accents! One of my favorite things in the living room is my easy fall centerpiece I have on our coffee table.

Fall Centerpiece on Coffee Table
I also love to look through Liz Marie Galvan’s Book, Cozy White Cottage Seasons, to get some seasonal decor ideas too!

I made that several years ago and still use it to this day because I just love the deep color of the amber bottles paired with the fall florals. It’s a perfect fall match!

I’ve also been using these fall floral stems in my vintage crock for a few years now too. They go perfectly in there and the good news is Amazon still carries them as well!

You also may remember us installing our living room mantel last year too. And I love to be able to style it for all the different seasons now as well. Like for fall, I just placed a simple fall garland on top and love it!

Fall Mantle
I got this garland from Zulily, and I highly recommend looking there for cheaper seasonal decor!

Our little reading nooks in the living room are also all decked out for fall as well! You will probably recognize some of the old decor I’ve used before here too. I try to reuse as much as possible, but still like to add in a few things here and there.

Pumpkin Scroll
Linking one of my favorite floor lamps below. I like it so much, I got another one in a different color for my office!

Like the antique brass candlesticks and clock on the shelf are new this year and are from Liz Marie’s QVC line. And if you’ve been around here long enough, then you know I am obsessed with everything Liz Marie does (I was even lucky enough to meet her at Vintage Pickin’ before too!), so obviously I had to get some of her pieces!

Fall Entryway

Our fall entryway is technically in our living room too, but I figured it needed it’s own little moment here too. Especially since we did that whole entryway refresh earlier this year! I love filling my dough bowl up with pumpkins every year too!

Fall Entryway Table

It’s actually full of pumpkins that I painted myself several years ago too. I think that was one of my first DIY projects and back when I was just dipping my toe into the blogging world! We sure have came a long way since then!

Fall Coffee Bar

Now, onto one of my very favorite places in my home, my coffee bar! You’ve seen it season after season before, and really I don’t keep it too much of the same. I try to add new things on it and again, keep some of the old items as well.

Fall Coffee Bar
Linking some of my coffee bar accessories below:

A new piece I added this year was the DIY Fall Cutting Board sign that I made a few months ago too. It’s the perfect little spot to display it!

I also have another area right across from my coffee bar where I keep all my coffee syrups. It also serves as a space to display more seasonal decor as well. Shocker, I know right?!

You can get the custom glass jars with the labels personalized too by clicking on the pictures below:

Fall Dining Room

Right next to my coffee bar area is my dining room. I kept my tablescape pretty much the same as last year’s fall tablescape. Although, I did change up the centerpiece with the DIY Mercury Glass pumpkins I made.

I also kept my dining room open shelves pretty simple with just a few fall touches here and there. Again, I used some amber bottles for some warmth and color. And some faux hops for some floral touches as well.

Cozy Fall Bedroom

Next up on the fall home tour is my cozy fall bedroom. I got all the pillows and throws last year from the Hearth and Hand line at Target.

Fall Pillows

I also always love to have a styled tray in the bedroom too. Although, I usually place it on the dresser and not the bed for obvious reasons. Just had to style it pretty for the photos though!

Fall Bedroom Tray
Bedroom Tray With Candle

But I always have a cozy fall candle from Antique Candle Co. burning and those cute faux maple leaves in the vase are the perfect little fall touches on the tray.

Fall Wreath on Window

I also switch out the mini wreaths on my antique 1920 windowpanes in the bedroom every season too. I typically use the traditional fall colors like pictured above and then will change it out to something with more of a pine vibe for Christmas.

Fall Guest Bedroom

Last on the fall home tour list is our guest bedroom. I always style the guest bedroom too because my brother will sometimes come over and stay a few nights with us throughout the year. So I like for the room to be seasonally appropriate and ready for that as well.

Fall Guest Bedroom Decor
Fall Guest Bedroom
Fall Guest Bedroom Tray

My favorite piece in the guest bedroom is the vintage rocker in the corner that we got passed down to us. It has been in my husband’s side of the family for many years and I am so lucky to have it now!

Fall Guest Bedroom Corner
Fall Guest Bedroom Shelves
Fall Bedroom Antique Rocker
Linking these open shelves below, they come in several different finishes and are so fun to style for every season:

And last but not least in this room is my distressed mirror shelf that I styled for fall by simply placing a garland on top. I got the garland from Zulily, and this is the perfect place to find a variety of cheap garlands!

Fall Guest Bedroom Mirror

And remember my cute recycled wooden base with the terra cotta pots I got from The Nested Fig?! Well, I made it more seasonally appropriate by just placing a few white pumpkins on top!

Don’t forget, you can always use my coupon code, “Charity10”, to get 10% off anything at The Nested Fig too!

Pin for Later!

Well, I hope you enjoyed this little Fall Home Tour of mine! And, you better get ready for a Christmas Home Tour coming up soon as well! I’m about to deck these halls and I can’t wait to show y’all!

Well… again you provide lovely spaces to look at and get ideas from. Are you patting yourself on the back? YOU SHOULD! You always have such lovely photos and projects. I still think I am going to grab my bags and stay in that guest room, haha!

POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you rem POV: You had a rough day at work, but then you remember you’re funding your cat’s luxury lifestyle. 😹

Any other cat parents feel like they’re just employees funding their pets’ dreams? 🐱💸 #stayathomecat #stayathomecatmom #catmom #catmomproblems #catmomprobs

Tell me I’m not the only one who reads the side effects before taking a new prescription! 👇 #sideeffects #medicationsideeffects #chronicallyill #chronicillnesslife #chronicillnessmemes

Do you decorate with patriotic decor all summer, or do you switch things up after the Fourth of July? #vintageamericana #vintagepatriotic #americanadecor #americana #patrioticdecor
POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month t POV: being on surgery recovery leave for a month turned me into a full-time homebody 🤣

Have you ever had a random night out come at exactly the right time? #johncrist #johncristcomedy #comedyshow #datenightideas #asheville

So instead of using the actual truck bed for two 1 So instead of using the actual truck bed for two 12-foot trees, he somehow decides cramming them into my SUV is the better option 🤣 And I’m still shocked they even fit. Barely 😅

Meanwhile, his shiny new truck is sitting safe and spotless in the garage where not a single speck of dirt or potting soil can touch it 😂🚙
