What’s even funnier is that she’s been an indoor cat her entire life, yet her hunting skills are surprisingly impressive. The focus. The determination. The stalking. It’s all there. 🤣

Be sure to watch until the end because the lip-licking after she spots her “prey” absolutely sends me every time. 💀😂

Any other indoor cat owners have a little hunter living in their house? 🐾

Anyone else dream of having the whole pool to themselves, or is that just my introvert personality talking? 👀☀️

If you know me, then you know I’m a HUGE Southern If you know me, then you know I’m a HUGE Southern Charm fan. Honestly, watching Bravo reality shows is one of my favorite hobbies, and Craig Conover has always been one of my favorite Bravolebrities! 😂

So when I found out there was a grand reopening event at @sewingdownsouth while we were in Charleston, South Carolina, there was absolutely no way I was missing it. But what made it even better? They were actually filming for Southern Charm while we were there!

As someone who visits Charleston every chance I get and has watched Southern Charm for years, this felt like a total bucket-list moment. So keep your eyes peeled for Season 12… you just might spot me somewhere in the background. 😜

But can we talk about Craig for a second? We’ve met him before, and he is genuinely one of the nicest people. He spends so much time talking with fans, taking photos, signing autographs, and making everyone feel welcome. In a world where celebrity interactions can be hit or miss, he is the real deal.

If you’re planning a Charleston trip, make sure to add Sewing Down South to your itinerary. Whether you’re a Southern Charm fan or just love shopping local, it’s such a fun stop in the heart of downtown Charleston!

Now tell me, who’s your favorite Southern Charm cast member? 👇 #southerncharm #craigconover #sewingdownsouth #realitytvshow #bravotv
Anyone else have facial expressions that give away Anyone else have facial expressions that give away EVERY thought in their head? 😂 Because I swear I can’t hide what I’m thinking to save my life. I may not say a word, but my face will tell the whole story anyway. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Being overly expressive is both a blessing and a curse. On one hand, people always know where they stand with me. On the other hand, it has definitely gotten me into trouble more than once! 🤣

Sometimes I think about Botox, but then I remember I’d probably lose my greatest talent: making faces when people are being ridiculous. 😜 It’s honestly a survival skill at this point.

Thank goodness I wear a mask at work because it hides at least some of my reactions! 😂

Please tell me I’m not the only one whose facial expressions expose every emotion before they even say a word. Drop a 🙋🏼‍♀️ if your face is constantly spilling the tea!

If you deal with POTS symptoms, chronic dehydratio If you deal with POTS symptoms, chronic dehydration, or heat intolerance, then you know the struggle is REAL. 😅 I feel like I’m constantly trying to stay hydrated between drinking water, adding electrolytes, and hoping my body decides to cooperate for once.

But if I’m being honest, no amount of water hydrates my soul quite like the ocean does. 🌊💙 There is just something about sitting by the beach, listening to the waves, and feeling the salt air that instantly makes me feel better.

Now, does having POTS-like symptoms mean I don’t tolerate the summer heat very well? Absolutely. 😂 But that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make for a little beach therapy. You’ll find me parked in the water, sipping my electrolytes, pretending I’m a mermaid, and refusing to leave until further notice. 🤣

The ocean may not cure my dehydration, but it sure does wonders for my mental health. 🌊☀️

Anyone else feel like the beach is the best kind of therapy?

Plot twist: Riley’s biological mom is still part o Plot twist: Riley’s biological mom is still part of the family too! 😹🐾

A few years ago on Valentine’s Day morning, my mom discovered a mama cat and her three kittens on her front porch. As a lifelong cat lover, there was absolutely no way I wasn’t bringing one of those sweet rescue kittens home once she was old enough. And that’s how Riley became part of our family. ❤️

Fast forward to today, and Riley has grown into the funniest, sassiest, most personality-filled cat I’ve ever had. She’s definitely not a lap cat, and she makes you work for every ounce of attention and affection, but somehow that just makes me love her even more. 😂

The best part? My mom ended up keeping Riley’s mom, Smoke, while finding loving homes for all the other kittens. So Riley’s mama is still around, and we get to see her from time to time. 🥹🐱

It feels like this whole rescue cat story was just meant to be. ❤️

Apparently, if I had actually read the product description, I would have known that. But who has time for details when you’re busy adding things to your cart? 😂

After a LOT of fluffing, shaping, and styling, though, these faux hanging ferns turned out so good! I love using artificial hanging baskets on our porch because they’re completely low-maintenance, stay green year-round, and don’t require me to climb a ladder every few days to water them. As someone who’s vertically challenged, that’s a major win. 🤣

Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

I officially made it through my first full week back to work after a month-long surgery leave, and whew… the post-op fatigue is NO joke.

Every evening has looked pretty much the same: clock out, soak my aching body in a scorching hot bath, grab my heating pad, put on my weighted eye mask, and immediately take a cat nap before I can even think about making dinner or doing anything around the house. 😴

I knew recovering from endometriosis excision surgery would take time, but I didn’t expect the exhaustion to hit this hard after returning to work. My body is definitely reminding me that healing isn’t always a straight line.

Right now, this little recovery routine is getting me through:
💛 Hot bath
💛 Heating pad on full blast
💛 Weighted eye mask (shoutout to @nodpodofficial)
💛 Emergency evening nap

Thankfully, it’s finally the weekend, and I can focus on resting and recharging before doing it all over again next week.

If you’ve had endometriosis excision surgery, how long did the fatigue last for you after returning to work? Please tell me this part doesn’t last forever! 😂👇

But unfortunately, someone has to pay for the treats, toys, fancy food, and all the other necessities required to maintain this luxury cat lifestyle. And that someone is me. 😅

Being chronically ill means I’ve tried my fair share of medications over the years, and my body always seems to have a mind of its own. If a medicine is supposed to make people sleepy, I’ll be wide awake all night. If there’s a tiny chance of an adverse reaction, somehow I’m usually that tiny percentage. 😅

So starting a new medication is always a little nerve-wracking for me. Part of me is hopeful it’ll finally provide some relief, and the other part is preparing for whatever random side effect my body decides to throw my way.

Tips on How to Keep Your Home Cozy After Christmas

If you’re wondering if you can still have a cozy home after all the Christmas decor is down, then the answer is yes! I have outlined a few tips on how to keep your home cozy after Christmas.

You can use these ideas if you’re still craving the cozy glow feeling of Christmas. The Christmas tree may be put up, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice that feeling!

Learn how to make your home cozy and implement it all year round! Especially during these harsh Winter months!

Keep your Greenery and Plain Trees Out as Winter Decor

One of my biggest tips for how to keep your home cozy after Christmas is to keep out your plain trees and greenery. I still have a lot of my plain bottle brush trees out and I think they look perfect for Winter.

I didn’t want to jump straight into Spring decor, so I think having a lot of deep greens out around the house makes it feel more cozy while still keeping in touch with the season.

Using pine or evergreen needles are a great way to do this as well. You can display them in a jar or a vase or anything simple, the possibilities are endless!

I am also leaving my pine garland in my dough bowl out a little longer too. I think it’s the perfect step before getting into Valentine’s or Spring decor.

Plain Trees For Winter Decor
As you can see I left my favorite bottle brush trees up on my shelves to enjoy a little longer throughout the winter season!

Use a lot of Texture

I like to add texture in mainly by using pillows and blankets. I love a good cable knit throw and decorative pillow.

You can also use faux furs to make everything feel more warm and cozy inside too. Another thing I like to do is to add a basket with a wicker or seagrass texture to place all my extra pillows and blankets inside of in the living room.

That way you can just grab a blanket whenever you need that extra warmth and it keeps things nice and tidy when you are not using them.

I always love to grab a few textured blankets from TJ Maxx or Homegoods. Especially after Christmas when they have some pretty good sales going on!

Textured Reading Nook
Love all the texture here in this reading nook. From the cable knit blanket, leather chair, and wicker basket, there is plenty to choose from!

Also, my office rug has a lot of texture here as well. You can always use rugs for some added texture in rooms too. Especially if you want to layer them together.

Having a rug in a room that has all wooden floors really helps to warm and cozy up the room!

Use Warm Wood Tones

We have a lot of white and light gray colors in our home so I love to use wooden tones to balance it out.

Having a wooden piece of furniture against a white shiplap wall really pops and it also makes it feel more cozy and homey inside.

It’s also another good texture to use around the home. I love the contrast it gives and it’s so easy to do just by adding a simple wooden bowl or tray to any room in your home.

Warm Wood Tones
I love all the wooden tones of the antique rolling pins against the bright white subway tile.
Warm Wood Tones in Living Room
Wood Toned Coffee Table
Here you can see how I use a lot of warm wood tones in my living room.

Find Ways to Use Cozy Lights

Whether they are string lights or a lamp, find a way to use something other than just regular overhead lighting.

Just having that lighting alone can feel too much and I like to have a soft glow from another light source instead when I am at home relaxing.

I love to have the glow of a candle burning too.

Antique Candle Co in Office
Here is one of my favorite candles from Antique Candle Co!

Not only does it make your space smell great, but it makes it look more cozy too! My favorite candle to have burning are my Antique Candle co candles. Click here to learn more about those if you’re interested!

I have also used string lights in lanterns or even in my centerpiece in my dining room to help keep a cozy glow in the house all year round.

Cozy Lights
Not only is the light from the fire super cozy, but so are the string lights I added around the candle in the lantern.

I hope these simple tips on how to keep your home cozy after Christmas have inspired you and I hope you are able to make your home feel more cozy after reading this.

There’s nothing better than coming home from a hard days work to a nice, comforting and cozy home! Let me know if you try out any of these ideas, or if you have an idea that I didn’t mention above.

I would love to hear them and I hope you all have a cozy day my friends!

This is Riley’s absolute favorite form of entertai This is Riley’s absolute favorite form of entertainment. We rarely get bugs inside, but when one manages to make its way in, she transforms into a tiny lion on a mission. 😂

POV: You survived your first full week back at wor POV: You survived your first full week back at work after endometriosis excision surgery… and this is what recovery really looks like. 😂

Whenever I have a bad day at work, I remind myself that I need that paycheck so my cats can stay home all day, nap in peace, eat snacks, and live their best spoiled-cat lives. 😂

This first week back at work has been ROUGH, y’all. I miss being home with my fur babies more than anything. Honestly, I think my true calling in life is being a stay-at-home cat mom. 🐾

But unfortunately, someone has to pay for the treats, toys, fancy food, and all the other necessities required to maintain this luxury cat lifestyle. And that someone is me. 😅

The funniest part? I don’t even think little Miss Riley misses me. As long as the food bowl stays full and the treats keep coming, she’s perfectly content living her best life while I’m out here working my butt off. 🤣

Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Goo Anyone else with a chronic illness immediately Google every possible side effect before starting a new medication? Because I swear if there’s a rare reaction listed, somehow I’m the lucky winner. 🤣

Here’s hoping this one actually helps my symptoms without adding a whole new list of problems. 🤞😂

Tell me I’m not the only one who reads the side effects before taking a new prescription! 👇 #sideeffects #medicationsideeffects #chronicallyill #chronicillnesslife #chronicillnessmemes
