Y’all, I’m asking for some extra prayers today. ❤️ Y’all, I’m asking for some extra prayers today. ❤️ Today is finally MRI day. They’re checking my brain and my cervical and lumbar spine, and I’m praying this is one step closer to finally getting some answers about what’s been going on with me.

At this point, they’re looking into possibilities like Chiari malformation, MS, or something else entirely. And honestly… I have no idea what these MRIs are going to show.

I think one of the scariest parts is the possibility that they could come back “normal” and I’ll STILL have no answers. Because when you’ve been dealing with symptoms for so long, you almost start questioning yourself and wondering, “Am I actually crazy?” 😜

I obviously don’t want them to find anything serious, but at the same time, I NEED them to find something that can explain why I’ve been feeling the way I have. If you’ve ever been stuck in that horrible limbo of “I know something is wrong, but I don’t know what”, you know exactly what I mean.

So today I’m praying for clear answers, good news, and hopefully a diagnosis and treatment plan that can finally help me move forward. 🙏🏼 And I’m REALLY hoping I don’t have to wait forever for those MRI results either because the waiting is absolutely brutal.

It’s been such a stressful and exhausting journey, and I’m just ready to get this part OVER WITH. 😭

If you’re the praying kind, I’d appreciate one today. ❤️ And if you’ve been following along through all of this, thank you for being here. It means more than you know.

Now excuse me while I romanticize my fall coffee station and pretend everything is fine. 😂☕️🍁

Hey @mutualofomaha I genuinely want to know how yo Hey @mutualofomaha I genuinely want to know how you think I can safely work as a dental hygienist with extremely noticeable hand tremors and shaking happening all the time.

How can my short-term disability claim be denied while saying I’m still capable of doing a job that requires me to use extremely sharp dental instruments underneath people’s gums every single day?

If I were your dental hygienist, would you feel comfortable trusting me to clean YOUR teeth while my hands are shaking like this? Because I don’t.

I’m not trying to get out of working. I’m trying to protect my patients and myself while I figure out what is happening to my body.

I’ve spent over 10 years working as a dental hygienist, and right now I physically struggle to hold my instruments and perform my job safely because of these tremors. I still don’t have answers or a diagnosis, and I’ve been waiting weeks for a brain MRI to hopefully help determine what’s going on.

But in the meantime, I’m expected to just go to work and continue using sharp instruments in people’s mouths like nothing is wrong?

This is so incredibly frustrating. I want to work. I WANT to be able to work. But I also want to be able to do my job safely and responsibly.

This is what happens when the healthcare system and disability insurance system fail people who are genuinely struggling to work.

If you’ve ever dealt with a denied short-term disability claim, disability insurance, chronic illness, unexplained symptoms, tremors, or being told you’re “fine” when you know something is wrong, I’d love to hear your experience. ❤️

I just wish I could sleep as peacefully as Toby does for ONE night. Must be nice to have a life where your only responsibilities are deciding when it’s time for your next nap or when you’d like a little snack. 😴🐾

What a life that must be… I’m sure it’s absolutely EXHAUSTING. 🤣

And naturally, he has to get his beauty rest after stepping directly on my face at 3 AM to wake me up. Because apparently my sleep schedule is interfering with his. 😂

DIY: Easy Vintage Valentines Garland

So my last post was all about how I was able to stain and antique new book pages to make them look older. And now I am happy to share with you guys just why I was doing that! I was lucky enough to find a few vintage valentines this year and I wanted to have a way to display them. I thought a DIY Valentine’s Day garland would be a great way to do that.

My original thought was to make a banner and string them through with some twine, but I didn’t want to harm the original valentine card itself. And I didn’t want to use a hot glue gun either.

So I decided to get some mini clothespins so I could just hang them on some twine without damaging them! Brilliant idea if I do say so myself!

This project was super cheap and easy to complete so keep reading if you are interested in making your own Vintage Valentine’s Day decorations!

Vintage Valentine Banner
Here she is all completed and I think it ties the perfect touch of valentines to my vintage hutch as well!

This post contains affiliate links. Click here to read my disclosure policy.

Materials List:

  • Baker’s Twine or Jute String
  • Antiqued Paper (Click here to see how I made mine)
  • Heart Lever Punch
  • Vintage Valentine Cards
  • Mini Clothespins
Supplies Needed for Vintage Valentines Banner
Here are all the supplies needed for this project!

Make The Paper Hearts

Okay so the first thing I did with the antiqued paper was to cut out paper hearts to add onto my banner. I didn’t have enough vintage valentine cards to fill up a banner, so I thought I could add in a little paper heart in between each valentine card to make it appear fuller.

Here is the heart lever punch I used in case you were wondering. This handy tool comes in different sizes, but I used the 2 3/8 in by 6.03 cm size. And it cuts out the perfect heart shape!

Buying that was probably my main expense for this project. Otherwise, this really was an inexpensive DIY project to complete.

But I figured I could use this year round for other projects as well so it really wasn’t too bad. I actually made a more simple heart garland for my open shelves in the living room to go along with this garland too!

Once your paper is dry and antiqued, then simply use the heart lever punch to cut out a few hearts to attach onto the banner.

You can do as many or as little as you want to. It really depends on the size of the space you want to hang your banner in.

You could also use different colors of paper, construction paper, or scrapbook paper too instead of antiqued paper if you preferred that look as well.

Heart Lever Punch
Here is a closeup of the heart lever punch that I used for this project.

Layout The Garland

Once you have your paper hearts ready, then cut out the amount of twine or string to the desired length that you want to hang your DIY valentine garland up with.

I chose to hang mine over my hutch so I just cut off the size I wanted for it to just drape enough over the little doors to it.

Then I laid the twine on my kitchen island and placed each vintage valentine card where I wanted it, with a small heart in between each one. Play around with this to get it exactly how you want it to be laid out.

You can even add more to this garland if you wanted to as well. Such as pom poms, a pipe cleaner into the shape of a heart, wood beads, clay hearts, etc. Basically, the possibilities are endless with this fun garland!

Attach The Vintage Valentines To The Banner
Getting ready to layout how I want my banner to hang!

Attach The Vintage Valentines To The Garland

So once you got it laid out the way you like it, then all that’s left to do is attach each vintage valentine card and paper heart to the twine. I did this by using mini clothespins.

I found mine from Hobby Lobby and they were very cheap. You can also find them at the dollar store too. There are several options to choose from. Click here to see all the different styles.

I chose to do a mixture of white and black because I thought that would be fun to alternate them. Also, I only paid like 85 cents for a pack of 35 so you really can’t beat that deal!

It’s also important to note that you don’t have to use vintage valentine cards if you don’t like them or can’t find any at your local antique or thrift stores.

Use sentimental cards from your hubby or boyfriend instead if you would prefer more of a romantic atmosphere that way! Either way, this is the perfect way to add a little bit of easy Valentine’s Day decor to your home.

Layout the Vintage Valentines Banner
Here I have attached each piece with a cute mini clothespin!

Hang Up Your Garland

The last step is to obviously hang up your garland where you want it! I always like to hang seasonal banners on my hutch because it is an easy way to make it more festive for each holiday. Just like how I made my dried orange banner for some homemade Christmas decorations.

But you could also hang this up on a fireplace mantel as well if you have one! This adorable Valentine’s garland can really make wherever you choose to hang it, look super special for the season!

Vintage Valentines Banner on Hutch
Here’s a full view of my hutch with the banner attached!

I hope you guys give this simple and easy vintage Valentines Day garland a try! It’s such a fun and simple way to add in a little valentine’s pop to your home decor! I just love easy Valentine’s Day crafts like this, don’t you?

Even if you don’t decorate too much for Valentine’s Day, I think this is a perfect, easy way to celebrate the holiday without going overboard! If y’all try it out, let me know.

I would love to see how you style your DIY Valentine’s garlands too. And also, let me know if you do decorate for Valentine’s Day or not?

I am curious to see! I don’t do too much, but I do like to add in a little pink and red here and there for the holiday. Thanks for stopping by today and have a happy Valentine’s Day my friends!

PSA: If you want the best faux fall mums, don’t wa PSA: If you want the best faux fall mums, don’t wait… they sell out every single year! 🍂

I know it feels a little early to be thinking about fall decor, but trust me on this one! These realistic faux mums are one of my favorite outdoor fall decorating finds, and they always disappear fast.

Last year I finally swapped my real mums for faux mums, and I haven’t looked back! 🤎 I could never figure out how to keep real mums alive. Too much water? Not enough? Either way, mine never seemed to last more than a few weeks. 😅

Now I can decorate my front porch for fall with beautiful artificial mums that look incredibly real, save money in the long run, and I get to reuse them every single autumn. It’s honestly one of the best fall decor investments I’ve made!

So tell me… 🍁 Are you Team Real Mums or Team Faux Mums? I’d love to know which you prefer (and if you’ve actually mastered keeping real mums alive, please share your secrets! 😂)

Why do husbands suddenly develop selective vision Why do husbands suddenly develop selective vision when they get married?! 😂

Anyone else’s hubby like this?! Because explain to me how this man can spot a golf ball from 100+ yards away… but somehow can’t find the ketchup when it’s literally RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS FACE in the fridge. 🤣

Apparently, he has 4K vision for golf and absolutely ZERO vision for anything I ask him to find. 😂

POV: You’re overwhelmed, so naturally you decide t POV: You’re overwhelmed, so naturally you decide to bake something completely from scratch… because adding more work to your plate seems like a GREAT idea. 🤣🍰

I like to tell myself that baking is therapeutic for me, and sometimes it really is! But other times, I’m already in the middle of 17 things and somehow decide that this is the perfect moment to make a homemade dessert from scratch. 😂

Like… am I stress baking or just creating additional stress for myself?! 😜

But honestly, I really do love baking. There’s just something about measuring ingredients, mixing everything together, and ending up with something delicious that makes all the chaos feel worth it. 🤎

Enter my new @michaeltoddbeauty dermaplaning tool! 🙌🏼✨ This at-home dermaplaning tool has seriously been a lifesaver for removing facial hair and peach fuzz. It’s super convenient and easy to use, and I LOVE the spray because it makes every single little hair so much easier to see.

And the best part? My skin feels so much smoother and softer afterward and my makeup goes on beautifully! 😍

So if you’re looking for an easy facial hair removal tool or an at-home dermaplaning option for peach fuzz, this one has definitely become a favorite of mine!

😂 Tell me I’m not the only one whose peach fuzz went into overdrive!
