Plot twist: Riley’s biological mom is still part o Plot twist: Riley’s biological mom is still part of the family too! 😹🐾

A few years ago on Valentine’s Day morning, my mom discovered a mama cat and her three kittens on her front porch. As a lifelong cat lover, there was absolutely no way I wasn’t bringing one of those sweet rescue kittens home once she was old enough. And that’s how Riley became part of our family. ❤️

Fast forward to today, and Riley has grown into the funniest, sassiest, most personality-filled cat I’ve ever had. She’s definitely not a lap cat, and she makes you work for every ounce of attention and affection, but somehow that just makes me love her even more. 😂

The best part? My mom ended up keeping Riley’s mom, Smoke, while finding loving homes for all the other kittens. So Riley’s mama is still around, and we get to see her from time to time. 🥹🐱

It feels like this whole rescue cat story was just meant to be. ❤️

These are the simple summer moments I look forward to all year long, and honestly, I wish every Friday could look like this!

As someone who deals with chronic lower back pain and everyday stress, I count down the days until my next appointment!

Sure, it’s not a permanent fix, but even a little relief can make a huge difference. I always leave feeling more relaxed, less tense, and ready to take on life again (or at least survive another work week 😜).

If you’ve ever struggled with chronic pain, muscle tension, or stress, you know how amazing that post-massage feeling is!

And let me tell you… this pepper was DELICIOUS! 🙌 Now I’m anxiously waiting for our cucumbers, squash, and tomatoes to really start producing. There’s just something so exciting about watching a vegetable garden grow and finally getting to enjoy the fruits (and veggies!) of your labor.

Apparently, if I had actually read the product description, I would have known that. But who has time for details when you’re busy adding things to your cart? 😂

After a LOT of fluffing, shaping, and styling, though, these faux hanging ferns turned out so good! I love using artificial hanging baskets on our porch because they’re completely low-maintenance, stay green year-round, and don’t require me to climb a ladder every few days to water them. As someone who’s vertically challenged, that’s a major win. 🤣

If you’re looking for realistic faux outdoor plants, easy porch decorating ideas, or low-maintenance outdoor decor, I highly recommend giving these a try!

I’m especially excited that we finally got our flower beds refreshed and ready for the season! 🌸🐦 The colorful blooms have already started attracting hummingbirds, and watching them dart around the flowers from inside the house each morning has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the day.

Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

POV: You survived your first full week back at wor POV: You survived your first full week back at work after endometriosis excision surgery… and this is what recovery really looks like. 😂

I officially made it through my first full week back to work after a month-long surgery leave, and whew… the post-op fatigue is NO joke.

Every evening has looked pretty much the same: clock out, soak my aching body in a scorching hot bath, grab my heating pad, put on my weighted eye mask, and immediately take a cat nap before I can even think about making dinner or doing anything around the house. 😴

I knew recovering from endometriosis excision surgery would take time, but I didn’t expect the exhaustion to hit this hard after returning to work. My body is definitely reminding me that healing isn’t always a straight line.

Right now, this little recovery routine is getting me through:
💛 Hot bath
💛 Heating pad on full blast
💛 Weighted eye mask (shoutout to @nodpodofficial)
💛 Emergency evening nap

Thankfully, it’s finally the weekend, and I can focus on resting and recharging before doing it all over again next week.

If you’ve had endometriosis excision surgery, how long did the fatigue last for you after returning to work? Please tell me this part doesn’t last forever! 😂👇

Spring Front Porch Tour

If you know me, then you know porch sittin is one of my favorite hobbies during the spring and summer months. So I thought it would be fun to share with you all my spring front porch tour and exactly how I styled it this year.

I always strive to have my front porch feel like an oasis. I want it to feel like I am sitting out on vacation, even though I am really just at home.

Spring Front Porch Tour
Here is a little corner of my spring front porch!

Rocking Chairs

I have said it before and I will say it again, a front porch isn’t a front porch to me without a proper set of rocking chairs! I love to sit out and rock back and forth with a sweet tea or a coffee in my hand.

There is something so relaxing about it.

All the troubles in the world fade away when you are outside rocking. If you are looking for some great outdoor furniture options too, then check out my post about My Top Picks For Styling An Outdoor Space.

Rocking Chairs on Spring Front Porch
My rocking chairs are nice and distressed to make them look older and worn!
10% Off with Code CJ10! Abba Patio Provide You High Quality Outdoor Products! Free US Shipping!

We actually scored our rocking chairs on Facebook marketplace for a great price. And then I ended up painting them and distressing them to give them the exact appearance that I wanted.

I wanted them to look worn and weathered because I love to add in vintage goodies on the porch too, just like in the rest of the house.

Plants

I also think you can’t have a great front porch without a few little plants thrown in here and there.

I am by no means a plant expert, but I do enjoy taking care of a few easy plants and watching them thrive.

Plus, I always love choosing cute pots to put them in that will match my spring front porch too.

Plants on spring front porch
Here you can see I have a fern in a little galvanized bucket underneath my vintage ladder on the porch.

My favorite plant for the porch during the spring and summer time are ferns. I have them hanging up and I have a couple scattered around the porch too.

They are very hardy and I love all the greenery they provide the space too. I also love hens and chicks too.

They grow like crazy and you can easily divide them into multiple pots. They also don’t require a lot of water or care so they are the perfect plants to start out with.

Vintage Goodies

Just like inside, I have a number of vintage goodies scattered across my porch too. I have an old chippy ladder (that we got for free!) and I use it in the corner as a plant stand.

I also have an old dairy can that I place a fern on and use it as a little centerpiece in between my rocking chairs.

Vintage Goodies on my Spring Front Porch
Here you can see all my vintage goodies and plants grouped together! I’ve linked some similar items below so you can recreate this look too!

Displaying vintage gardening tools is always fun too. I like to have my vintage gardening shears placed next to my vintage toolbox filled with succulents too.

They both have a chippy green color to them, so I feel like they are perfect to display together.

Fun Accessories

I also love to add in a few fun accessories here and there on my spring front porch too. Such as a colorful doormat and a neutral scatter rug underneath the door mat.

Changing up the doormat every season is a cheap and easy way also to make your porch appear more seasonal and ready for whatever holiday comes next.

I also got this adorable planter pig that I planted a few little greenery plants in.

I think it is so cute and the perfect touch to my vintage farmhouse vibe I have going on here.

Planter Pig on Spring Front Porch

We found that beautiful American flag that was handmade by some old barn wood at a flea market a few years ago and decided it would look perfect hanging on the porch.

I also found the black post office box from the same flea market and thought it looked super cute next to the door as well.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my little spring front porch tour today! And I hope it gave you some ideas on how to decorate your front porch for spring as well.

Do you usually go all out to decorate your porches too?? Let me know below and I hope you are able to squeeze in a little porch sittin time today friends!

Would love to have some form of porch or deck like this. We just have plants in pots and in the flower bed of our drive.

So tell me… are you a massage person too, or do you prefer other self-care treatments? 👇

After all the money we’ve spent on raised garden beds, soil, plants, fertilizer, and supplies, this little pepper is basically worth its weight in gold! 😂 But honestly, there’s nothing more rewarding than walking outside and harvesting fresh vegetables from your own backyard garden.

There’s just something special about slowing down, enjoying some good old-fashioned porch sitting, and taking in the sights and sounds of summer. Anyone else spending time outside today?

I’m especially excited that we finally got our flower beds refreshed and ready for the season! 🌸🐦 The colorful blooms have already started attracting hummingbirds, and watching them dart around the flowers from inside the house each morning has quickly become one of my favorite parts of the day.

Between the front porch decor, blooming flowers, and warm summer sunshine, home feels extra sweet right now. ❤️

But can we talk about how hard it is to make frien But can we talk about how hard it is to make friends in your 30s?! Is anyone else struggling with adult friendships, or is it just me?

Maybe it’s my socially awkward, overthinking brain. Maybe it’s because I spend 99% of my free time at home and have fully embraced my introvert era. Or maybe it’s the fact that every time I meet someone new, I replay the entire conversation in my head for the next 3-5 business days. 🤣

And while I’ve never been officially diagnosed as neurodivergent, let’s just say some of those traits hit a little too close to home. 🧠😂

So if you’re also navigating social anxiety, an expired social battery, awkward small talk, and the challenge of making friends as an adult... welcome. You’re my people.
